Perusing the winding path of the forested trail, the scent of the Unovan silk trees would emanate ever so greatly that it almost lulled the fairy-type trainer to sleep. She should have been used to the effects of the incense by now, but with her stumble being caught by the side of the Tropius that would walk beside her, she'd snap back out of it. All of the pokemon babies that waddled around were having fun though, splashing in nearby puddles when they got the chance; they were the cutest, all cloaked in shine with their various ways.[break][break]

Soon up the trail near the line where the forest met the clearing, the group would encounter a colbur berry tree, which appeared to have already been somewhat harvested. Only four or five berries remained, glimmering in their pink glory. Beginning to pick a few, Desiree would notice a rustle in one of the nearby bushes, which would soon project itself outwards to snag one of the berries on its own. A wild Clefable, the fairy-type trainer would gasp in delight; it was the exact same species as her baby Starlight, though much, much more grown. Perhaps a fairy grandma, it seemed just as enamored by the fellow pink individual as it did the pink berry.[break][break]

Giving the wild pokemon a little tap on its head, it would let out a tiny cosmic call, similar yet much more adult-ish in comparison to the Clefairy's. If only Starlight had come along on this little berry trip; she would have loved seeing one of her elders, but she was far too deep in a nap back home. Desiree felt the temptation to attempt a capture on the friendly wild pokemon, but she felt it would have been a bit too bashful. Coming home with a much older and stronger version of Starlight felt a little too wrong- she knew one-day Starlight would evolve, though. One day.[break][break]

Breaking into the bushes after waving goodbye, the Clefable was gone in no time. A few berries added to the fruit basket, Desiree and the group would continue their search for more.

You'd think diving for treasure would get a bit boring for the pinkette, but no, it didn't. After a beautiful sunrise like the day prior, Desiree found herself free floating on the surface, embracing the ever-so-gentle waves that would crash against her body. It was quite relaxing, especially after how hard she had worked on her freshly released album, and Misty the Clamperl was having a blast. Rocking in the waves while resting on the trainer's stomach, she'd look out intently at the horizon.[break][break]

Before long Desiree would cease the free float, diving down into the water with her Clamperl resting in her grasp. Just what treasure was in store for the duo today? Anything was a blessing, just as it was an addition to her sparkly pink treasure chest awaiting her back at home.[break][break]

Oh look, it was the dude that swiped right to boost Desiree's algorithm on that amigo app. Though he looked a bit.. older in correlation to the pictures he had used? Having watched him ascend the seat after being dunked for the third time, she wondered if all her luck was running out. But it was finally her turn, just what would the ball have in store for her on this fourth attempt?[break][break]

Stepping up to the line, she'd wave toward Fernando in a bubbly fashion before unleashing the ball from her grasp. The Clefairy near her feet would squeal at the results; she didn't know how this game worked.

This would be Desiree's second adventure into the deepest parts of the Ultra Deep Sea, though Desiree still didn't quite understand this seemingly natural yet strange phenomenon. What was the secret of this place glowing with the most beautiful crystals but pumping out the most hallucinogenic gasses? Nearing the core, accompanied by the other half of this mission's designation, she wondered how many times he may have traveled into this dangerous yet magical place before if at all. She didn't know a thing about him other than a name.[break][break]

Looking back at Remiel, her presence would glow due to the refraction of the core and its surrounding crystals. She'd appear rather tense, but the first trip she had been here with Callan gave her the tiniest bit of knowledge about what she would need to expect. Taking a hit of her strawberry-flavored vape, she'd flutter her eyelashes in curiosity, but the hallucinogenic effects were already seeping into her mind due to just how close she was to the core.[break][break]

"Will we brave the 'acid trip' together, or are you not a fan? I don't mind ♡," Her words would begin to flow out gently, sort of wandering off as she'd face the deeper thoughts of retrospection that came with the radiation-based paranoia. It felt warm but with a sharp edge, like a heated serrated dagger. "Gloss, activate your AROMATIC MIST if you can, love."[break][break]

Breathing in the pink dust that had emanated from the Hatterene's hat, the edge of the radiation would somewhat have its edge taken off, but it was still providing a swirl of colors. It would be directed a second time toward the stranger if he were to partake in the core gaze, though easily missed.[break][break]

"So you're Remiel Calcifet, the new prime minister of Galar, right? ♡ How's that?" Curiosity would cloak her rainbow vision, adding to her cocktail of aromatic mist, radiation, and nicotine. "I'm Desiree, I'm from Kalos~!"[break][break]

That was kinda vague, but there was a lot going on in her mind at that moment.

It was the early morning after a five-o-clock somewhere kind of hangover; Desiree had been drinking since two or three in the afternoon and knocked out just early enough for her to wake up just before the sun had risen, the perfect time to go out while the tide was resting. Floating on a big cloud-shaped flotation seat, inflatable and able to hold a wide variety of drinks, it wouldn't be long before she and Swablu were far enough out to look for some treasures.[break][break]

Though, since Swablu was a flying type, she'd stay above the surface and guard the unattended floatie. Desiree had dived down into the dark waters, a little glow stick necklace from the night prior illuminating the waters around her with a pink hue. Maybe super early morning luck would be on her side, even if she was still hungover as hell from that brunch party via zoom. Running her hands through the fine whisps of sand, the pinkette would search for the finest of treasures, hoping to add to the treasure chest she was filling up day by day.[break][break]

The sea was fruitful with magnificent treasures.[break][break]

One-way routes were nothing when you were saddleback on a pokemon with the ability to fly. Flapping in the winds of the immediate skies above the trees, almost to the point where Tropius' legs were touching the canopy, Desiree found herself on the outskirts of Route 123. In her grasp was a fruit basket containing four baby pokemon and incense that would have yet to burn, the scent of Unovan silk trees pushing out of the container's slits even when unlit. It wasn't long until they were on the actual end of the route, the perfect spot to look for any fresh berry trees. Did it count as stealing if the trees were unowned? It wasn't that way in Kalos, so she sure as hell hoped it wasn't that way in Hoenn. Leaving a few berries for others was courtesy though, obviously.[break][break]

Now that the group had found themselves on the ground, the pinkette would lower the basket for a moment before lighting her incense, allowing the baby pokemon to roam alongside her on the route. The smell was just as alluring as it was strong; if its effects would work as they did last time, it would draw fairies out of the tree line. Desiree hoped to encounter fairies acquainted with the grass typing as well, but she wasn't picky; their distinct personalities were always a joy, regardless of her specialty.[break][break]

Starting her little nature walk, she'd keep an eye out for any vibrant berries on the edge, or anything that would wander out on the seemingly empty trail. Maybe a treasure would prove the cherry on top of the hopefully bountiful harvest!

The girl that had ascended the throne seemed to be faring just fine upon it and had a streak going where people just kept on missing. Approaching the pedestal for the third time, having been dunked almost instantly when she had got on the seat prior, Desiree would be up to bat. This time, her Clefairy had wanted to watch, protecting her trainer's drink on the outskirts.[break][break]

"Hope you don't mind getting dunked on~! ♡" She'd wave at the stranger, raising the ball. Would her third time throwing be a charm, or would it be a total bust? Desiree would release the ball from her grasp, impending the results.[break][break]

Sticking the freshly-retained ball into her purse after taking a sip of her drink, Desiree wondered just how much more of the sunny heat she could take. But there was an ever-expanding canvas of seashell-embedded sand beneath her, so she knew she had to at least find one centerpiece for a wind chime on this sunny day. All eyes on the swimming idol before her, she'd be sure to update him on what he may or may not have seen.[break][break]

"Mhm! There was a lil' hurt pokemon floating around, but they're fine now~!" Water slapping her back as she'd swim upright, she'd notice yet another glimmer beneath them for a moment. Blessed by the sunlight, she had the urge to dive down pulsating within her mind but would express momentary hesitation. "The first conch is yours, then!" She'd nod excitedly, dipping below the surface entirely to get that glimmer before it was too late.[break][break]

Head first swimming below, the light from the sun was just perfect illumination for what resided within the depths. A few wild fishies would swim by here and there, but as she got lower, she saw it. Sitting in the sand and causing the glimmer was a bundle of two twin conch shells and a few tinier variants. Scooping them up into her arms, she'd be quick to resurface, hands full of the carved spires of nature.[break][break]

With an excited glimmer in her eyes, she'd bridge the gap between herself and Jade that had formed. "I found two! We get lil' matchy ones~!" Her hand would extend outward towards the idol, dropping it into his grasp if he was accepting alongside a few others. This conch would be the best centerpiece for one of her crafts projects, maybe even the one she'd give to Xiao.[break][break]

Beside them would float by what Desiree first thought was a kid on a homemade raft, but once she did the doubletake, she noticed it instead was a pokemon. A relaxing Aromatisse at that; it would be surfing if it could have, she was sure, but it was slumped on the flotation device. "Huh, that's new~!" Desiree would giggle, swimming closer with a pokeball she had grabbed from her purse. Lulled to sleep by the waves, the wild fairy type would remain sleeping as she'd hold onto the edge of the raft, tossing the ball toward the Aromatisse in an attempt to catch it.[break][break]

Just who in their right mind would but the fairy on a floatie? Unless she did on her own; who was Desiree to judge?

Sven was anything but wrong; with each of her hits, she was getting a bit more tired, determination there but technique lacking. Breaths becoming the tiniest but tiresome, Desiree would nod intently and look down where he pointed, readjusting the grip. It was already feeling a bit lighter in relation to the previous unintentional muscle strain.[break][break]

"You're right, this kinda thing is a workout~!" Sweat would drip from the lining of the hardhat as she'd begin to dig a bit less erratically, though nothing would present itself from within the rock. She was grateful for Sven's guidance; this was an odd job for her, something she had no experience in prior. At least, other than cracking open geodes with the fancy lil' machine thing or a sledgehammer. Going to crystal shops was her forte![break][break]

Pausing for a moment to listen to his remark about the once-existing barrier; she had never heard of such a thing, and though curious, the fact that he couldn't contact his family was empathetically heartbreaking. "That's terrible, I'm sorry to hear that about your family," Desiree's eyes would look down at the breakage of the wall and then deeper before meeting his eyes once more, "..is it like, a conspiracy theory? Like.. what if something crazy was here ♡?" If Cleffa's species had allegedly arrived on a meteor, there was no telling what else could have.[break][break]

Looking down deeper into the cavern, it appeared to consist of a few stalagmites and stalactites; crystals had to be down there. The thought of running into an alien due to their previous concept was indeed there in her fears, but those were kiddo thoughts. As for Cleffa, she was down for anything. Holding the gift that Sven had given her tightly in her little pink palms, she would hop up and down in excitement.[break][break]

"Yeah, we can go a ways deeper~! I trust your judgment. ♡" She'd pick up the pickaxe and hold it resting on her shoulder, ready to continue on. Once she'd near the manifestations of rock spires from the ceiling and floor, all eyes would be on the potential prizes hidden behind the walls. Desiree hoped she'd got that technique down, excavating from the walls in much more of a reinforced fashion. If an alien were to show up though, she'd scream.

♡ We are loving this new album of yours! Can you tell us a bit about creating this album, like what went into it and your thought process behind it?

Sooo I made this album like I made my other two, with Ableton and my Elektron Monomachine Synthesizer! People always wonder why I don't really like, switch it up, but really both of those things have everything I need, though I'm always recording new samples. And my thought process? Um, a few things went down in my life when I made the second half, which is why some of the songs sound a bit more 'discordant' in comparison to the others. I'll let you decide which came after and which came before, but I feel like most of the songs are centered around peeling the layers of love piece by piece and dealing with loss in the process ♡.

♡ Are you referring to those articles posted by Distinct Magazine at the beginning of June? Sorry if that's too upfront of a question.

Damn, you're really getting to it fast, haha. Kinda, yeah. It's not uncommon for artists in the industry to make music in an attempt to help them cope with things, and that's definitely been a process of mine. I kinda shifted the focus from mourning my dad to mourning lost relationships as a whole with the lyrics, which is why it takes kind of a romantic feel in some of the songs and centers around longing. A nostalgic type of feel, but I took a lot of my experiences as a whole and put it into this- but the darker sounding beats were definitely made because of that devastating event, those came before the lyrics. Does that make sense?

♡ Kinda, yeah. Sorry to hear about your loss, Desiree. What drives you to put such raw metaphors and emotion in songs while accompanying them with club-like beats?

Thank you, it's okay. Going out to raves and nightclubs seems a bit like it's just for a good time, but in my experience emotions flow in those flashing lights, even if you don't want them to. I consider my music to be like an acid-bath club because my emotions run free through my songs just like emotions do on the dance floor. When you listen to music in clubs it's usually like, surface-level absorption at first- but if you find a song you're really liking and you go home and listen to it again, usually, it has a deeper meaning than what meets your ears at first.

♡ This is your first album signed onto Teravolt, are you adjusting to Hoenn well? What led you to join the independent label?

Yes! I'm loving Hoenn- it's so much different than Kalos, and the summer heat is WILD. But everyone here seems to be so close-knit, it's like connections here mean so much more than connections overseas. And Teravolt? I met Callan Young at a charity mixer and got that offer, it was so good that I had to take it. I'm not going to go too much into detail about that last part, but I will forever be grateful to Callan and Teravolt as a whole, it's given me so many opportunities with my music. You have them to thank for this album's release~"

♡ Nice. What inspired the name 'Shimmering Butterfly'? Did you see a Vivillon flying about one morning?

That's so funny, it just kinda came to me. Maybe it was the feeling of butterflies with the change of scenery, maybe more. Maybe it's a metaphor for fluttering love, even if the lifespan for wild insects is rather short. That's for you to decide as the listener!

♡ Fluttering love? Have you found anyone that causes that feeling for you here in Hoenn?

You're pushing it, Mr. Radioman. Haha.

♡ Okay, okay. In one of your songs, it has a message kinda like 'you don't care about anyone'. Care to elaborate on that?

Oh, you mean 'Softpretty'? I kind of took a character on when I wrote the lyrics of that song. It was kinda like; you know when you've had too much substance at a party and you're just kinda floating there, dancing around without a care in the world? It was a bit like that, the lyrics are simple but that was one of my most thought-out beats on the album. Kinda more so an electronic feature.

♡ Ooh, I get it now! Now that we're on songs, what inspired 'Us Ephemeral'? It doesn't have that much of a lovey feel like the others do.

My silly little spiritual journey to enlightenment, like the sun after a vicious storm. People think you have to change when you delve into introspection, but I feel personally like it's an alteration of a mindset rather than a flat change. Like poisonous food that has to be prepared just right to be consumed, and when it's right, it's delicious.

♡ What do you do when you go to festivals or clubs and hear your own songs? Do the emotions take over?

I dance, of course! And not necessarily, it depends on the day for sure.

♡ Haha, of course. Well, last question; do you see yourself touring in tandem with this album release?
