It is a first for her to launch RKS and find herself on a pokemon. The area is gorgeous, though she does not recognize it. "This is one of the nicer simulation beginnings." She said it with amusement, looking to her partner to see how he felt about it. She had no idea how familiar he was with the simulation, but she only had a few under her belt. [break][break]

Of course, as soon as she says it, a Genesect comes above to mow them down. She shakes her head. The simulation changes and stays the same.[break][break]

"Cyclizar will outperform Genesect's speed, but it has advanced tracking. Our best bet is to cut up in the alleys." She does not wait for him to confirm before taking a sharp dive to the left to evade the Genesect.

She would be lying if she said Seraphim's silence this time around wasn't getting on her nerves. It was making paranoia bubble up inside, but she didn't comment on it. She took a picture of the research and pocketed it for later examination. "I think I have found all we can parse from this ship. The other writings are nonsensical or too faded to read." She wasn't all too experienced with runic writing anyways, and the longer notes were in a language she couldn't interpret. [break][break]

She walked back towards him to leave the quarters when she heard the softest cracking sound. She dropped down low instinctively, crouch-walking to the doorway to peek. Was there a cannibalistic megalopolan here? Instead, she saw a clutch of eggs that had hatched, but no pokemon were there. But that had to be what she heard. So where...? [break][break]

A flash of purple from outside the ship, seen only through rotted slats of the ship wall, told her all she needed to know. "There is a nagandel outside." Her voice was strained. If its poipoles had hatched, there was no telling what it would do to protect them.

Unown Report - A mysterious program pilfered and downloaded from The DRK Triad. Supposedly it scans various key terms the Unown can represent, many of which seem connected to the fate of this universe.

RUSTED SHIELD - An ancient Galarian artifact forged by Zamazenta by absorbing detached fragments of Necrozma. This dauntless shield was used to help defeat Eternatus and Necrozma in ancient times.

Her previous trips in the simulation had been dark and cosmically terrifying. She was, naturally, eager to get Lulu's interpretation of things. So of course, the simulation spat out the most ordinary setting. "Really?" She intoned with obvious boredom. "Why open with slowpoke tails?"[break][break]

They were unappetizing. She preferred curry to something as bland as slowpoke tails. She wasn't turned off by the squishier texture, but she couldn't justify wasting time on something flavorless. The simulation was all about choices, and it was easy to say no. "Figure the tails out yourself," she said with little interest. She was trying to remind herself mid-simulation that the consequences were not real. It was much easier to do so when you weren't looking at deities. [break][break]

"I did not realize the simulation could produce mundane scenarios. My previous experiences were filled with Unown and monstrous abnormalities."

Ameena nodded as Leilani confirmed her thoughts: it was time to leave. Her blastoise did an excellent job fighting the horde back and jetting water everywhere to cover their exit. "Get those rocks out of the way," she ordered Edith, who used lumina crash to break the disrupted rock pile that blocked them from a faster exfil. [break][break]

Edith issued a long, low cry as she followed. "There are more coming," Ameena translated. She knew her Espathra wanted to stay and fight them all, ever blood-thirsty, but this was not the time. "No need to engage anything else. We want to avoid drawing attention our way to prevent pokemon interference on the equipment." It wasn't totally clear if she was requested Leilani draw her pokemon back or if she was calming down her Espathra. [break][break]

"There we are." The exit bathed them in light, forcing her to squint. She had adjusted to the darkness of the chasm and its ambient tera crystal lighting too quickly.

Leilani is capable. [break][break]

She's also communicative. It doesn't take a lot to check Ameena's boxes for a good colleague. Rather, it's surprising how many do not measure up. But she has been pleasantly surprised with how frequently Rocket hands her capable people. She's met more than her fair share of peers, even arguably mentors, for science despite her healthy accomplishments in the field. More than that, she's met her equals and her betters in combat, despite her military training and discipline. [break][break]

"It is almost finished..." Ameena clicked a few buttons on the device until it evened out in beeping to something slower. It was working. "I have it! All set," she reported back, turning to assess the situation Leilani was facing. "We just need to finish the crowd and then exfil." [break][break]

She siccs her Espathra and Honedge on the horde, though Honedge never strays far from Ameena, so she has to walk pretty close to paradox mons to get the most value out of her team. "If you can sweep them away with some water, we can leave quickly and avoid drawing further attention to the equipment."

Ameena's glad she whistled. Amoonguss appeared behind her, only detected because of the tell-tale scent of its spore it spat out into the environment. Ameena rolled to the side to avoid the brunt of it, unsure what kind of spore attack it was. Edith was back, charging at the mushroom pokemon with quick attack to push it back. The stubborn Amoonguss barely moved, and it did not turn and flee. Ameena was intrigued by the stubborn pokemon. It's spore attacks would give it the ability to alter behaviors... something she could study. Before her Espathra could keep harassing it, she tossed a pokeball out.

The overqwil horde caught her interest immediately. She was curious about the group psychology of sea pokemon. Poison types tended to be standoffish. It was hit or miss if they ever had a group mentality, but mostly, they were a prickly bunch. Literally, in this circumstance. [break][break]

There was an unusual amount of shiny ones in the crowd below. If she squinted, the colors blended together pleasantly, though it would likely be some overrated abstract piece named something stupid like splatsville. Abstract was too juvenile. She didn't really go for sea creatures in general, but overqwil were interesting enough on their own. She liked pokemon that could be prickly. Personality was welcome.

Edith charged forward at the napping Torracat, using drill peck to wake it up viciously. "Be quick about it." Ameena's voice was monotone in her boredom. Torracat swiped at Espathra, but she flew out of distance. She struck with disarming voice, disorienting the cat. He skittered off the path, but Espathra continued to pursue until Ameena whistled.

Trepidation was a natural response to the RKS, but she had to admit she felt a little at ease that she was exploring with Makoto again. Any level of familiarity was a great comfort in the face of such an unpredictable simulation. "I hope this run will be less... cosmic and consequential." A nicer way to say terrifying. [break][break]

The scene unfolded fully before them. It was some kind of space rock (of course), and they had the opportunity to touch it. "Interact with something strange and potentially dangerous? I guess it will be the same song and dance today." She tried not to sound so tired about it. "Do you want to poke it?" It was scientific to interact with it, especially since neither of them could be really hurt, but. It was also scientific to ignore it by default. See what happens and all that jazz. She looked to them without judgement; either choice was still a choice and had its consequences.

The people around you look like they belong to an old civilization. Busily, they work at constructing what appears to be a temple or tomb among the great dunes of this place.[break][break]

When asked, a worker says, "We are creating a great protector. Eons ago, a great star fell from the heavens and landed here. We are finally able to harness its power. Go. Take a look!"[break][break]

You enter the incomplete tomb to see a large chunk of some unknown purple material. Red veins pulse throughout it like blood—or poison. It emanates a great power. Before it, several boulders are set against each other.

Ameena narrowed her eyes at the arrival. Her Espathra hadn't attacked, so he didn't smell like a Leaguer to her blood-thirsty companion. But it also meant he hadn't used any psychic moves to mess with her mind, as Edith wouldn't have accepted that without a fight... and yet, he looked to be shrouded in a bit of darkness beside his illumina team. [break][break]

She had heard rumors of a Rocket who seemed to own shadow. With her meetings with Lulu and Seraphim, she had learned that high ranking Rockets came in many shapes and sizes. His question intrigued her, but she wasn't sure if he wanted a straight answer. "Topside of whatever is rumbling beneath," she finally answered as she stepped away from the functional seismic sensor. It beeped happily as it sent out waves beneath the earth. [break][break]

"All of the human activity, paradox pokemon attacks, and tera growth has made it difficult to assess what is happening underneath. But it seems like there is some odd energy at the core of this place that is pushing out the tera crystals." Her previous runs into the area have taught her that much, but it was still unclear what could produce such rapid tera growth. She shrugged. "But my area of study is more concentrated on dreams and the psyche. I hope you can shed some light on the geological phenomena here." Unintentionally, her gaze flickered to the glowing pokemon beside him.

Edith the Espathra was out for blood, as per usual. She weaved through both sides of the fiery path ahead of Ameena. Her neck was bowed low, looking for footprints of a pokemon. She had been holed up too much lately, stuck to excursions and other caves. She was eager for a little freedom, and Ameena understood that her pokemon performed best when they had this kind of leeway on occasion.
