[attr="class","inner-finally"]Fire, its strength and ferocity is almost too easy to remember as it begins pouring down on them. Flames curl up over her clothes and kiss lightly at old scars. If not for Reiner's final ditch attempt of shoving the Charizard off, it's plenty possible that she'd have succumbed to the fate she defied all those years ago.

But it hurts far too much to cry out, the stench of singed hair nauseating, choking her when she tries to snag a breath. Her chest hurts far too much to accommodate such a greedy will to survive, shoving pinpricks and needles down her throat with every shallow inhale she's forced to take.

A bitter frost starts to bite, quietly sinking into her subconscious as she lays there, unable to move even as danger stands right before them. She can see them just barely, their outlines locked in a ferocious struggle. She can see how Matias gets stabbed... or Chu-e gets kicked... Yet she can't hear them over the drumming of her heart, panicked and working overtime to try and maintain that small spark of life left.

Why is Chu-e tumbling to the ground? That dull scent of blood that seeps through her senses, it isn't hers, is it? Darkness surges and grows upon his skin, thick and uneasing just like the black sludge he'd coughed up months back. Perhaps, she's just hallucinating, like every other time that she's danced with the alluring death itself.

She wants to reach out but she's far too weak. All she can do is watch, fading in and out as her body threatens to shut down on her. Everything's going wrong... she hadn't wanted any of this.

the sight behind him is otherworldly, almost as though it's something straight out of a horror tale. he stares at chu-e's lifeless body, watching as crystals start to blacken against his skin.

matias is not stupid enough to ignore whatever's happening.

"ASH!"

stones glow, energies swirl, and a strong pulse of energy bursts off charizard as its form starts to shift, MEGA EVOLVING as a DROUGHT forms overhead. the fire-type reappears closer to matias, and in its place is a SUBSTITUTE that continues to be iced out by delcatty.

slowly, matias stumbles to his feet, placing himself between chu-e's body and eris.

in the background, MAGICAL LEAVES start to swirl.

No surprise, then, that a confrontation between one of its underbosses and a member of the Elite Four quickly reaches the other underboss. He has made his home in his city, his patron her roost at the bottom of the bay.

MATIAS SILPH has made a mistake, coming here.

A HURRICANE'S herald is the RAIN that begins to fall, dark clouds gathering overhead as a bolt of brilliant THUNDER strikes the ground. And through the howling wind and lashing rain, ahead of the shadowed leviathan that ascends from the bay, comes a smaller dark shape with Gavin on its back. The Corviknight moves with an unnaturally EXTREME SPEED.

Gavin expects to find Chu-e Choi holding his own, black crystal tentacles and bold fury.

He does not expect a mere echo of his friend, a monument with Matias standing in the way of Eris Halla's grief. Gavin's own sorrow is eclipsed by Lugia's rage, a haunting scream ripping through the city.

He lets it fuel him, jumps from Corviknight's back and is already sending out his other shadow Pokemon, their sillhouettes taking shape against the storm.

"Leave." Gavin's words are snarled. "This city is ours, or had you forgotten?"

Cyrogonal, the most docile of his shadows, spins as it moves it front of Eris with a BANEFUL BUNKER. Miasma spreads across like ground like morning fog, a dark omen.

Gavin has requested back-up and I've reached out to a few people with permission!

He wasn't foolish enough to only bring one Pokémon, glancing up towards his Inteleon perched on a nearby rooftop, aimed to take a shot on Matias should they decide to make a move. A hand moved to shake free the keystone ring on his wrist, prepared to Mega Evolve in a moment's notice.

"Perhaps the League didn't learn their lesson the first time. We should make an example of this one." Rowan addressed Cillian Quinn now, curious as to what their plans were for the interloper.

Cillian Quinn was lucky Oscar was in town. He had been spending a lot of time at the docked sub, working on the perpetual motion energy machine with Lulu Flint. When he got the call, he had been tinkering with the prototype and was not thrilled to be pulled away. He was unaware of the severity of what had occurred that night. He grumbled as he put on an outfit to disguise himself, not wanting whoever had the balls to enter their city uninvited to blab about his involvement with Rocket.

Oscar rode to the scene on Robbie Rotten, the most vile of all Naganadel. As he approached, his heart stuttered into a blazing pace. "Oh fuck..." Was that Chu-e Choi? Eris--Rowan--Gavin----a Silph. Oscar's growled lowly as he descended, landing in such a way as to help corner the League intruder. Oscar hopped off of Robbie, cracking his gloved knuckles as he glared at Matias. A low chuckle forced its way out of his throat, his shock being unable to be processed any other way. As he addressed the intruder, his voice would come out distorted. Far deeper than it should be.

"You have a lotta balls coming here. When we tear you apart, they'll be the first things I crush!"

Some people just couldn't get the hint. The league had the audacity to encroach upon their territory? After everything they had done and put them through? When Serena got the call to assist she didn't hesitate to meet up. She was in the area anyway, but what she didn't expect was the situation to be so dire. Serenity and Solstice sped off in the direction Gavin had told her to meet up at. [break][break]

Chu-e and Eris were in trouble and she'd do whatever was possible to assist. Not to mention, no one would stand in her way when it came to giving that damn Silph a taste of his own medicine. Curtesy of his bitch move he pulled on her at Fortree. When she reached however her eyes widened at the sight before her. Surely Chu-e was fine right? [break][break]

Serena felt her blood run cold as she stared at his body that wasn't moving. It couldn't be right? Then her eyes drifted over towards where Eris was crumpled and clearly hurt. Her temper flared as her hands balled into fists at her sides at the sight of her newfound friend in such a position. [break][break]

What the fuck was up with this guy? Did he only live to cause people pain? Funny how he should be associated with the league then. But it didn't matter, the rest of her allies were here and this guy wasn't walking away scot-free. She assumed the rest would keep this damned Silph busy, so she should focus her efforts elsewhere. [break][break]

"Serenity be prepared to help us out. Sol, get me close to her, and fast." Solstice neighed before quickly dashing off with Serena while Junior left his pokeball of his own volition to support Gavin and his pokémon, having been used to being around them before. As Serena got closer to Eris and Reiner she began to shift her position on Solstice while still balancing on the back of the horse. [break][break]

As they passed she reached down and scooped up Eris into her arms and held her close. "I've got you, Eris." she whispered as she looked down at her and held her tightly. "I've got you." she repeated while flashing a glare at Matias before quickly dashing back towards her allies. [break][break]

"Serenity healing, now. On the both of them." she said as she hopped off Solstice and held Eris so that Serenity could better heal them. "Solstice help too please." she asked as she looked up at her. Serenity quickly approached and used LIFE DEW on Eris and Reiner while Solstice used HEAL PULSE on them both.

Bryan would finally have his shot at revenge. He placed on his new mask, gone was the white mark of the lamb [break][break]

Only the wolf remained [break][break]

"Grimmsnarl. Memento Mori." he ordered. As a black tendril of hair shot out from the darkness, grabbing onto MATIAS SILPH 's mega Charizard and draining it of it's health slowly but surely. [break][break]

Bryan emerged from the shadows, his new wolf mask apparent to his fellow rockets, his iconic bow was gone. Replaced with a pistol instead aimed right at Matias. "It's nice to see you again." he lied [break][break]

"Big guy over there (Cillian Quinn ) says you gotta go. I'd listen if I were you." he warns him [break][break]

"Or don't! I'd honestly love an excuse to go put a bullet Eva Morales 's head. Finally be rid of the bitch and her meddling with the tree." he grins as his Silvally and his Shadow Kommo-o come out from behind him as well, preparing for a fight. [break][break]

"What's it gonna be big guy?" Underneath his mask though, he prayed that Matias would just leave. He was worried for Eris, he didn't want her to see any more violence for today. She had enough of it.

THUNDER strikes, and in comes reinforcements. as arrogant as matias is, he understands his limits. up against five of rocket's presumed finest, there's no doubt he'd lose.

charizard's wrapped by a tendril of hair that soon withers away from a FLAMETHROWER. the fire-type roars, shaking its wings out in defiance.

stepping away from Chu-e Choi's lifeless body, matias reaches for charizard's neck, then mounts before recalling his porygon-z.

his attention zones in on Cillian Quinn. everyone else is ignored.

"our deal still stands."

which grants him free passage out of this dump of a city. he takes to the skies, hovering for moments as he looks down at Eris Halla.

"i hope you find what you're looking for here, eris."

Flanked by Rocket's Beasts and with Eris Halla's safety secure, Gavin's lips curve into a snarl.

From the perspective of the underboss, his colleague has been slain and one of Rocket's youngest attacked by MATIAS SILPH. The laugh that leaves his lips is sour and traced by a swirl of miasma.

"Deal? We've already got what we wanted from you." Melody was in League's hands but Rocket had their collateral. "There is no deal."

With his shadows flanking him like sentinels, Gavin cants his head.

"Kill him."

With the RAIN still falling heavily, a bolt of THUNDER strikes directly toward the Elite. Corviknight and Aerodactyl take to the skies to give chase, and the leviathan that is Lugia swoops overhead.

Matias had better run, fast.

Eris was in serious condition and she needed to have a medical professional look at her. But at least she was safe. Serena held her close as she feels Eris lean against her shoulder. It broke her heart to see her like this. What kind of monster did this to a child? An innocent child? "Make the monster go away... please..." Serena feels her heart lurch in her chest as concerned amber hues drift down to focus on Eris. [break][break]

Hugging her tighter against her, Serena glares over at Matias. This rocket beast in particular was pissed on her behalf. "Don't worry, we'll take care of this." She said as she tore her gaze from the Elite Four member. "You just save your energy. We'll get you patched up in no time, I promise." she whispered. "We won't let him hurt you again." and she meant that, with every fiber of her being.[break][break]

Bryan's arrival was timely and welcomed as he forced the elite four member into a dire position. He had no choice when cornered like this. He had to surrender, unless he had a death wish. She watched as the Silph mounted his charizard "our deal still stands." before turning his attention to her mentor. [break][break]

"What?" Serena snarled as glanced back at him. What deal? Why would a deal be struck with the likes of him? "Deal? We've already got what we wanted from you." Gavin replied which eased Serena's concern. "There is no deal." Now that sounded more like it. She was glad there wasn't anything she really needed to be worried about. [break][break]

She didn't know what this man was on about. Especially after having the nerve, in her eyes, to come into their territory, attack and kill one of their underbosses and assault one of their children. Besides, even if they had a deal, since when did rocket honor agreements in cases like these?[break][break]

The Silph turned to look at Eris in her arms and Serena adjusted her body as if to shield her from this evil man. "i hope you find what you're looking for here, eris." And with that he was on his way. Serena's temper flared and she felt her body temperature run ice cold before erupting into searing heat. [break][break]

Before she could even properly think about what she was doing she shouted at the top of her lungs. "FUCK RIGHT OFF!" she growled. "You don't get to hurt her and take everything she cares about from her and treat her like that!" Serena was so livid. How dare he act like she was in the wrong. Like this was her fault. She was innocent he was the one that stole everything from her. Eris' father was dead because of him! "She's just a kid! How could you do this to her! You coward! YOU MONSTER!" [break][break]

If Serena didn't have Eris in her arms she would've had half a mind to chase after him. Rain began to fall quickly on them here, courtesy of Lugia, and it took everything in Serena's power to calm her rage. Her body trembled as she cradled Eris against her. Untying a jacket from around her waist she covered Eris so that she wouldn't end up sick from the rain. [break][break]

Meanwhile Gavin's shadows flanked the Silph as he cocked his head to the side, "Kill him." Lighting sparks as THUNDER from Lugia with the support of the RAIN, strikes out at the elite four member while the rest of Gavin's shadows give chase. At least she could trust him to handle things. "We need to get her out of here." Serena said as she looked back at Gavin. "Get them both out of here." she said softly as her sad eyes drifted over to the lifeless body of their underboss.

Matias got the message loud and clear, and seemed eager to leave. Oscar had no intention of letting him get away, and at the mention of a deal he would slowly turn his head toward Gavin. Beneath his mask his expression was stoic, though his eyes blazed with rage and contempt. He detested the idea of letting Matias leave unopposed, but if Gavin had a deal with the bastard then nothing could be done.

Luckily, Gavin refuted the elite four's claim. Oscar chuckled as he turned back toward their target, almost gleeful about this unlikely opportunity. Blood must be paid with blood; Matias had a debt to pay, and there was no way he would get an extension. Oscar snapped his fingers, prompting Robbie to join in on the attack.

The yellow abomination flew forward, jutting out its syringe-like stinger toward the intruder. Perhaps it seemed like it intended to skewer, but that would be too dangerous a maneuver. Robbie's stinger instead surged with electricity, making it clear that he was intending to perform a close-quarter Thunderbolt. The bolts leapt forward, winding across the storming air toward Matias and his minions.

if the DROUGHT isn't making him sweat, then those two words definitely do.

THUNDER and THUNDERBOLT strike, and once again matias is saved only by charizard's intuition to leave a SUBSTITUTE in its place. a charred and blackened charizard dummy falls to the ground, limp and lifeless, while the real one soars away with matias on its back.

clawed and stabbed, matias has no intentions on coming back anytime soon.

fuck the tree of life.

fuck sootopolis.
