has there been anything happening at work? hmm... chasing after legends and sea people is fascinating, she supposes. some days, she prefers staring at genetic analysis, however.

"same old boring science stuff," she murmurs. it's safer to keep her work behind the scenes after, well, imprisonment. "how about you two?"

and before they can answer, a bear all but crashes the party. it's odd looking in a way she doesn't quite recognize. an ursaring but... different, off. she stares at it as it comes closer, as it lurks on the food DEREK HOFFMAN is cooking. her golurk rumbles low in warning and she'd prefer for a fight to not break out at cutie derek's picnic...

so she simply lobs a pokeball at it.

[break][break] the expression on his face is fond as he greets mint frost , if only a little surprised. he glances down at the options that the other boy offers — hot dogs and burgers. only... they look a little bare.

[break][break] "thank you." his reply is genuine, as he sets the plate on the blanket next to them. jayden has never been a picky eater, even less so when someone has gone out of their way to prepare a meal for him. he should at least try the single hot-dog, shouldn't he?

[break][break] before he can say much, however, there is a large beast that crashes through. alarmed, jayden looks up — his head whips in the direction of the unusual pokemon and he stands up with his friends in turn. "janos." his crobat flies overhead, a blur of flitting purple hues, as it aims a QUICK GUARD in front of Rowan Wrynn , and those in their vicinity.

"Teen pregnancy, maybe."

It wasn't unheard of, and with the information available, it was the simplest conclusion to make. Occam's razor and all that.

Yawning, he was just about to answer the cheese-related question when Mint came into vision, plates in hand and smiles all around.

"Oh, thanks."

Despite how it may appear, his reaction was just as genuine as Jayden's. Especially since he preferred his burgers plain, anyways. Grabbing it from Mint, Felix was about to go in for a bite when the furry pokemon made its appearance. "Huh." Was his initial reaction, while his teeth sinking into the buns was his second reaction. His third, like everyone else, was to chuck a Pokeball at it.

MATIAS SILPH’s strategy to show up late may have been a tactical move, but Eva was just late because she’s typically late. Research had, yet again, kept her longer than she would have liked.

Her boyfriend is easy to spot in the small crowd, so she starts slipping her way past the other picnic-goers to greet him when an odd bear makes its debut.

Eva’s jaw nearly hits the floor, “HOLY MOTHER OF ARCEUS!” she scrambles in a panic to grab a free pokeball from her pocket, “Me first!” she nearly shoves Matias out of the way to lobe her own pokeball at the creature. There were wild rumors of these coming from the Distortions.

What she would do for a few samples from that pokemon . . .

If Poppy's going to pass up anything, it's not going to be free food. Sure, she's collected a few jobs here and there, but if the chance is right in front of her, she's going to take it.

PETALBURG PICNIC

As spring turns to summer, our hearts and our days become a little warmer...

While not in the forecast, those who bear witness to the efforts of the trainers gathered are sure to be met with surprise. The pokemon is quickly advanced upon by many a pokeball, though perhaps the most lazily tossed of them all is the one to find it's mark. The mother bear has been separated from her cubs, both starving and unsure of herself in this new world. Yet due to their efforts, she is able to lay her weary head in the comfort of a pokeball much more sophisticated and luxurious than it's predecessor.
