Haina Desert - Pokemon Sun & Moon

A VAST DESERT LANDSCAPE dotted with rocky structures and monoliths. Curiously, they almost seem humanmade, though there are no signs of people here. Shrubbery and turquoise crystals are encrusted throughout the bright and sweltering dryland. Occasionally, you may stumble upon rocky terrain that is difficult to traverse.[break][break]

Mysterious obelisks with missing seals are situated throughout the desert. No one knows why they exist, or who made them.

🗺️ SPECIAL HUNT: in the process of your adventure, you may encounter clans of PHEROMOSA and BUZZWOLE clashing with each other in an attempt to determine which species will rule over this domain. during these battles for dominion, the ultra beasts may be weakened, defect or betray, or switch the targets of their aggression to your party.[break][break]

however, your party must determine which species (pheromosa or buzzwole) will "win" or have "gained the upperhand" and note it during archival.[break][break]

by the end, everyone may capture one PHEROMOSA or BUZZWOLE (one or the other, not both).[break][break]

Or you may encounter and catch a KARTANA that has managed to displace itself here. Whether it is here from Hoenn or another location in ULTRA SPACE is unknown.[break][break]

BELOW IS A POOL OF PROMPTS you may use when creating an expedition. A successful expedition requires the completion of AT LEAST FOUR PROMPTS, including any extra conferred upon creation. More will be added as time goes on and expeditions are completed.[break][break]

02 involve gigantic orthworms who attempt to hunt you using tremorsense.

03 involve dangerous sandstorms or the ability "overcoat".

04 involve the thirst or the sweltering heat as an obstacle.

05 experience a prophetic dream within the desert.

06 do not drink water offered to you.

07 involve the discovery of ancient obelisks that possess holes for missing seals.

08 involve rellor or rabsca in some way.

09 engage in battle with a member from the opposing faction.

10 involve confagrigus or runerigus in some way.

11 stumble upon unnerving pokemon tracks left in the sand.

12 become immobilized by an espathra's psychic eyes.

13 involve quicksand, secret passages, or being buried alive.

14 experience a misleading mirage.

15 do not approach the caravans.

16 search for suitable locations to set up camp/base (e.g. an oasis).

PROMPTS EXCLUSIVE TO THE 2ND EXPEDITION & ONWARD

17 begin building a base camp/settlement of some kind.

18 explore the beached wreckage of a megalopolan vessel, named Angelum Lucis.

19 involve following a trail of durant, or their underground mazes.

20 attempt to spend the "night", surviving the elements or any threats.

21 encounter the corpse of a pheromosa or buzzwole being picked apart by mandibuzz.

22 cultivate a farm or garden to grow plants for resources or the deterrent of threats.

23 use the ability 'sand force', 'earth eater' or 'sand veil' in some way.

24 become trapped by a large palossand's vortex as it attempts to devour and drain you of vitality.

25 encounter sentient mounds of sand that attempt to replicate the shapes of loved ones to lure you in (e.g. this can be a palossand or supernatural force).

26 involve cactus, cacnea, or cacturne in a pivotal way.

PROMPTS EXCLUSIVE TO THE 3RD EXPEDITION & ONWARD

27 encounter a sun dial that when operated or adjusted, can change the day and night cycle instantaneously.

28 encounter an immense vault (or any kind of area) filled with treasures; however, these are mirage-like illusions designed as a trap.

29 go back in time within the realm using the sun dial or a magical hourglass to avoid or resolve a situation.

30 encounter mummified/well-preserved bodies of megalopolans who possess notes that suggest only ultra beasts lived here.

31 discover an ancient tomb presumably created for some regal presence.

PROMPTS EXCLUSIVE TO THE 4TH EXPEDITION & ONWARD

32 open an old sarcophagus/tomb that unleashes a horrendous curse (effects up to your discretion) onto your party.

33 encounter glyphic instructions that pertain to a ritual (method up to your discretion) that reverses a curse/summons the violent spirit of an INCARNATE FORME LANDORUS that has been displaced here.

34 encounter a gargantuan desert fruit that is edible and is used by wild buzzwole to feed from.

35 allow the buzzwole/pheromosa that you own to guide you safely through the realm, or have them encounter previous members of their kind that believe it to have betrayed them.

PROMPTS EXCLUSIVE TO THE 5TH EXPEDITION & ONWARD

36 discover an GROUNDIUM Z-CRYSTAL in the wake of a particularly powerful sandstorm. the crystal will become that becomes permanently defunct after some time.

37 encounter swirling winds of sand that you can ride as if swimming in a current to get to destinations.

38 encounter invisible walls, labyrinths, ruins, paths or bridges that require careful navigation lest you fall, end up in a trap, or in a dead end.

39 discover a large desert gate. by it, a large monument that looks similar to that of a SHINX. it is seemingly sentient. it will ask you riddle to allow you safe passage through it. an example of one of the riddles it may ask is "THE MORE THERE IS OF ME, THE LESS YOU SEE. WHAT AM I?". should you answer a riddle correctly, it will allow your party safe passage. should you answer the riddle incorrectly, it will attempt to kill and/or eat you.

40 discover rocks slowly moving throughout the desert despite a lack of wind or other means of movement. you may identify that these rocks are slowly beginning to fuse together...

PROMPTS EXCLUSIVE TO THE 6TH EXPEDITION & ONWARD

41 suddenly experience the entire realm being flipped as if an hourglass has been turned upside down. if your party survives the violent upheaval, encounter new areas of the ultra desert.

42 encounter a large clan of PHEROMOSA or BUZZWOLE that have temporarily seized control over the realm. this prompt may be dependent on the result you have chosen during the SPECIAL HUNT in ROUND THREE. assist their efforts by helping command a troop of ultra beasts to defeat threats in the realm (e.g. therian forme landorus, regirock, the opposite ultra beast), or join a troop before attempting escape.

43 encounter a THERIAN FORME LANDORUS that seems to have been planeshifted here by accident or intentionally. the pokemon seems to have been abandoned here and is clearly aggressive. with no soil, the pokemon can not create fertile lands— and it will take its frustration out on you before fleeing.

44 a REGIROCK may have been unearthed by the realm's flipping or by your exploration. battle and/or defend against it. study of the debris left by the fleeing titan will reveal that it contains mineral material of all kinds and from all kinds of worlds, though the exact locations can not be pinpointed.

• Your character can only be in ONE EXPEDITION THREAD at a time.
• You may participate with all of your characters; however, be aware of your ability to post.
• If a thread partner has not posted in awhile, please skip them in this event. Momentum is important for engagement.
• If a thread begins to stagnate and show signs of stalling, please let shiv know immediately.
• Since these threads may feature combat, please be reasonable with your battling. Discuss with your group if you'd like one move per post, how many Pokemon are allowed to be brought, etc.
• Please be trusting and open to communicating with all of your thread partners.
• Please INCLUDE WHICH PROMPTS you are using in your expedition thread.
• Please have at least FIVE POSTS PER CHARACTER in your expedition thread.
• Wilds threads must have at least TWO CHARACTERS.
• Please indicate in MODERATION REQUESTS how many times the participating characters have completed a Wilds thread and how many times they've been to a particular area.
