A PREDORMITUM BATTLE FRONT



TIME TICKS DOWN ON THE LEAGUE’S EXPEDITION. prolonged exposure to the borders leave them exhausted in a way that extends beyond physical fatigue. their very spirits come under duress as their intrusion into this realm threatens to separate soul from body. their journey home is one taken with great haste, lest they join the spirits wandering to the great beyond.

but with the portal home dangling within reach, several individuals manifest into existence. the sound of war atop mount pyre leaks when the portal activates, spinning a vague narrative of what’s happening back in hoenn. out of the people who’ve appeared, none wear the visage of or , who were stationed just beyond.

which means there’s only one suspect.

Aw shit, here we go again.


"... Tch. Look sharp." Spat the young officer as he dragged his fist across his lip, jaw tensing as the sounds of conflict came blaring through the portals opening before them. What in the world had and gotten into? "Surprise welcomin' party."

His hand tiredly fell back to his side, digits thumbing over the net balls on his belt, sweat pouring down his neck as he attempted to steady his breath.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

"Just business as usual." Doug told himself, bringing his arms up to his sides and releasing a long, exasperated breath. "Hooo-ey."

Bringing his hands to his face, he slapped himself on the cheeks twice, shaking his head abruptly before nodding to the other leaguers, gaze sharpened back into razor focus.

"... Hyup! Alright!" He said, palming a net ball and huffing. "Ready when y'all are."

Dressed down in his new disguise, a gold-trimmed armor befitting that of a king or even a hero. It was a shame he wasn't doing anything quite heroic today... "Another day, another fight with the League." Grinning under his helmeted mask he punched his fist into his open palm. "Let's try to make this at least a little bit entertaining..."

If he was gonna go to war, he might as well act as though he sought joy from this conflict. Bloodthirstiness was a good way to unnerve an enemy. It showed who was strong-willed and who was a coward. It didn't help that Elio definitely was a bit unhinged. Taking a Pokeball from his waist he glanced over at whoever would be joining him through the portal next.

Callan's cigarette burned with a light cinder as they approached a group of strangers, crossing paths by the crevice out and into Mt. Pyre. Callan followed closely behind , Callan gently squeezes the young avatar's shoulder, "Colonel." Callan stated, as much as they had two Elite Four members and an Avatar on their side, he was still concerned about , who was in all aspects a civilian to his knowledge.

He steps up briefly, removing the cigarette from his mouth. "Hello Gavin," Callan began, this was becoming a deja vu. "Perhaps we can agree to a ceasefire for this fight, our objective isn't your team this operation."

His answer however, came in the form of a giant, shadowy beast. He memorized its shape, and form, even as it was shrouded in fog the last time they had fought. With the storms of rain crackling overhead, the drops began to pour, putting out the light of his cigarette. Callan looks down towards his half finished cigarette, and litters it. "I suppose not."

Callan turns towards , "Luka would you mind supporting us with your Pokemon? If not, we'll do our best to cover your escape." He turns towards , his predecessor, "Let me know if you'd like me to assist you in any strategy, Kazimir." With that said, Callan sent out his first Pokemon.

"Come, Yukianesa!"



Upon release of Yukianesa, his Ninetales, the rain dissipates. Or rather, the storm clouds above turn from the musk grey that covers the sky into shallow white, as rain cuts off, following the gentle fall of SNOW from its SNOW WARNING.

"Blizzard."

Gentle snow turns into violent tempest, the snowflakes turn to daggers, as Yukianesa summons the weather into violent shard to viciously pelt against everyone on the opposing faction.

Oscar stepped through next, suited up in what was becoming favorite mission disguise. Had to look sharp for this occasion, especially when confroning a former elite four member, a current elite four member, a former gym leader, and--was that ? Did Remiel know she was here? Were they still together? It's hard too kep track of all these relationships, Oscar usually does not bother.

It hardly mattered, they were not taking prisoners today so whoever stood before them was about to reserve a permanent plot on Mt. Pyre. came out swinging with Lugia, and whose black rain was dripping harmless over Oscar's helmet. It made for a good backdrop, too bad it was replaced by @callan's snow and blizzard.

Oscar thought quickly, releasing Writhe the Frosmoth from her pokeball. Oscar's digitized voice would soon shout out a command, "Fuck that blizzard up and press forward!" Writhe let out a sing-song howl as she fluttered her wings, creating a Wide Guard barrier to protect her comrades from the blizzard. She very slowly pressed forward with the barrier, hoping to get close enough for her fellow pokemon to begin lobing their own attacks.

Oscar cackled, florishing a hand toward the enemy, "Come on ya bastards show me some teeth!"

tl;dr
--Oscar sent out Frosmoth. Frosmoth used Wide Guard to protect the Rockets from Blizzard. Frosmoth is inching forward behind her barrier to get the team closer to the League. I will add frosmoth moveset when I get home, it's hard to do on my phone!

Gerald approached their would-be victims alongside his fellow members of Team Rocket. Clad in what could best be described as tactical combat gear and a face mask devoid of identifying features. He could fight safely knowing his identity was hidden from the League members that stood not too far away.

His gear protected him from the rain that began to pour as Shadow Lugia took to the field. It protected him from the Snow that followed soon after.

The battle had begun and Gerald under the codename of ‘Titan’ would take to the field. He summoned a Pokémon to his side.

The Decidueye appeared and Gerald would be quick to issue a command with his distorted voice.

“Leave none alive.” He looked toward the League members, recognizing at least one of them as of the Elite Four. Tch, this won’t be easy.

The Decidueye nodded and quickly peered through the see-through WIDE GUARD to find a victim.

Out of the four one seemed an easier target than the others. It picked a feathery arrow, put it to the string and let the SPIRIT SHACKLE empowered arrow fly aimed at ’s body to the best of its ability. Should it hit its target or something else physical, it would burst into ghastly blue flame.

ATTIRE: Mask + Gear (Pokéballs instead of gun holsters)

It was the same song and dance they've always had. The moment they locked eyes onto one another it was like a heated romance reignited again after so many years of not seeing one another. Of course it had only been what a week or so since the League and Rocket butted heads with each other but every time they did it always started with one look.

The look to kill.

At the very least the group of League personal they ran into wasn't one that was short on talent. "Just cover my back and I'll cover yours." He replied back to who offered his assistance to his predecessor Elite Four. Appreciation was all but a given from Kazimir as he eyed the large bird they brought with them who summoned rain with its appearance, lucky for them a snow front came their way to halt it. It didn't really halt their actions against the group as one of them brought out a Decidueye and launched an arrow right at !

Kaz's body was quicker than his mind to react as he jumped in front of with a pokeball in his hand opening up as he did. In a flash of white a blue blade emerged and struck at the arrow with a Shadow Claw to erase it from this world leaving nothing but the blue embers of the blue blade as a Ceruledge formed the rest of its body and took its steadfast stance in front of their foes. The malice that made up its body brimming to the surface as the flames around it burned and even brighter blue as it stared down the line of Rockets in front of it with Kazimir joining in right behind it, only his gaze was accented with a cocky grin that gave his face this odd sense of hunger to it.

"Always knew Rocket was cheap, guess those game corners aren't really doing it for ya anymore are they?"

Though his gear isn't as heavy duty or tactical as some of this teammates, Fern still arrives incognito. Now that his name and face are out there, known by the likes of , he can't take that risk of exposure. Not just yet. [break][break]

Stepping through the gateway behind the rest, the admin notes the immediate flurry of snow swirling around them, deflected by the WIDE GUARD put in place by 's frosmoth. Despite being right on their heels, there's not a moment spent dillydallying. "Party's already started, I see," he chimes pleasantly, countering the foxlike twist that his grin takes.[break][break]

He watches the SPIRIT SHACKLE of the decidueye get knocked away with a sharp glance. "Alright, you know the drill!" he calls to his dragapult as she's set loose from her ball. Cecilia hovers behind him, just long enough to open up a PHANTOM FORCE pocket. "Any takers?" he asks the other Rockets as he steps back into the portal.[break][break]

It hovers open for a moment longer, the invitation hanging just long enough should anyone choose to take the window of opportunity. Then it closes up again for Fern and his pokemon to be spit back out seconds later. There's no guarantee of exactness, but the aim is to appear directly behind one and his ceruledge.[break][break]

What was supposed to be a fairly routine expedition has become anything but in a matter of minutes. For a single, solitary moment, Luka hopes that ’s efforts to stave off conflict succeed- but of course they don’t. The Rockets here have come looking for a fight, and it seems that that’s exactly what they’ll find.

It’s never felt right to simply sit back and let others do the fighting for her, but she finds herself paralyzed- just for a moment- when brings a leviathan into play right out the gate. It’s only ’s suggestion that snaps her back, and she gives a shaky nod as she reaches for one of the love balls in her bag.

“R-right, okay! I can support- I mean- i-it wouldn’t be right to leave you here.”

And she means it, even though her kind of help can often be a hinderance. Her sweet, oblivious demeanor so often makes her a target, and perhaps it’s for that reason that aims an attack directly at her.

She notices the flying arrow a moment too late, but her yelp of surprise is premature. Though she braces herself for impact it never comes, thanks entirely to ’s quick thinking and even quicker action.

“T-thank you,” she says with a trembling exhale. For a moment she considers firing back with an attack, but decides against it. Offense has never been her prowess, and Callan had asked her explicitly for backup. After a moments consideration she releases her Alomomola, and quickly rushes in to protect the rest of her team for the oncoming onslaught of attacks:

“Wide guard, please!”

Great, Merlino was here. There was a bizarre sensation in the back of his neck as he stared at the older man, the hairs on his nape standing on end as the edge of his vision briefly seemed to distort with deep, black shadows. He could've almost sworn there were eyes at the corner of his vision...

As a hand settled on his shoulder, he released a sharp exhale, shoving the feeling to the back of his mind. His gaze turned to toppa, nodding tiredly at the man as he led their inevitably useless diplomatic efforts.

Saw that one coming.

"Blah blah blah." Was the colonel's eloquent reply to everyone else as he palmed 's back, sweat dripping down his neck as he adjusted his cap and released a low exhalation. "Step aside or get trampled, ya old farts."

He swept his arm through the air, and his Frosmoth spread her wings wide in response, eyes aglow as a myriad of colors seemed to permeate the raging blizzard that Callan's Ninetales had summoned, enveloping the colonel and his allies in a cool, protective layer of aurora.

TL;DR:
-Doug threw out his Frosmoth. SAME HAT !!!
-Frosmoth used Aurora Veil to support all of his allies.

If they were going to be utilizing the snow, then he'd change his strategy also. In a swirl of shadow, Lugia returns to the beast ball at Gavin's hip, quickly replaced by a snarling Sandslash with spines of black ice. The falling snow activates its SNOW CLOAK ability, and a click of Gavin's tongue sees it spread a SAFEGUARD across the field.

An expanding guard from 's Frosmoth is immediate, the shadow of a Dragapult slinks and disappears from view, avoiding the BLIZZARD, which otherwise crashes against the WIDE GUARD. As Oscar's Frosmoth advances to get closer, a SPIRIT SHACKLE is fired from one of the attackers from the other side at , which is thankfully blocked by the timely SHADOW CLAW from .

A field of energy ripples from Merlino's Sandslash, but as to what it was, Callan could not tell, only that it was not immediately threatening to the group. A WIDE GUARD spreads from 's Alomola, which would hopefully, prevent damage being done from the front of the group. An AURORA VEIL is projected across league members, increasing defenses for each member of the League. Callan had been expecting to use this move to protect the group, it seemed that had read his mind, and he was grateful for that, given he could follow up with another attack thanks to the support.

A DAZZLING GLEAM erupts from Yukianesa, his Ninetales, an expanding force field of shimmering light expels outwards from her, passing safely through his allies, but would deal harm to those she considered its foes.

The first volley of attacks seemed to be ineffective to either side. Their collective defenses reflected each other, the League hounds using a Wide Guard of their own to protect themselves. "Great." Oscar's digitized voice stated flatly. "Glad we are still down to waste each other's time."

Oscar had rather optimistically hoped that the initial clash would be enough to send the supposedly worn down League trainers on the run, but alas more effort shall be needed. Oscar was prepared to switch out pokemon to take on a more offensive strategy--until used Aurora Veil. A gurgling grown escaped from Oscar's helmet; now he had to the same, lest the League's newfound durability allowed them to gain the upper hand.

Oscar shouted out to Writhe, "Give us a veil of our own!" Writhe shuddered as her Wide Guard broke, spreading a thin layer of sparkling powder that would stretch across the Rockets' side of the battlefield (Aurora Veil). Now the strike team had bolstered durability of their own, just in time to get ass blasted by an incoming Dazzling Gleam.

Oscar sighed, "This is gonna hurt like a bitch..."

The SPIRIT SHACKLE failed.

Gerald’s eyes narrowed in annoyance as he watched the battle develop. Though most of it seemed to be focused on setting up defensive barriers.

Gerald didn’t have time for defenses. Even as the WIDE GUARD went down and both he and Decidueye felt the painful wave of DAZZLING GLEAM washing over them.

But the pain would only prove to instill within him anger.

He did not have time for this.

“I’ll break that Wide Guard, so make sure not to stand in my path.” Gerald proclaimed loud enough for his allies around him to hear.

He and Decidueye shared an understanding gaze and a quick nod before Decidueye grabbed another arrow.

The sun was woefully lacking. But there was still light here to be gathered and alongside the energy connected him with his trainer, the move was still doable. The Arrow began to glow, thrumming with energy.

Decidueye let it fly in the League group. Around halfway there, the arrow would split into glowing sharp petals that would explode with powerful blasts upon the next touch they felt. Be it friend or foe.

Z-MOVE used: INFO

DECIDUEYE: THE END - GERALD KAISER

Decidueye summons a wave of solar-infused petals that explode on the first target they hit, causing AoE damage and breaking screens.
