INTRODUCTION

PREDORMITUM is a casual faction based PVP event set to tease the upcoming event pertaining to THE WILDS while giving players a chance to engage in conflict based narrative. while the premise is to engage in some form of player versus player combat, the ruleset will be lax and focus on creating plot hooks and pushing the narrative beat of conflict between THE LEAGUE and TEAM ROCKET.

while sign-ups are open to all (as long as spots are open) keep in mind that a lot of this event will rely on collaboration with players allocated to a specific thread. like the previous event, EXCURSIONS, and the current THE WILDS event, the outcome and pacing will be based on the consensus of those involved.

because of this, it is highly suggested that those wishing to participate keep an open mind how the story may flow. for players that would like more structure or a more definitive end in relation to their own personal outcome, this event is not suitable for them.

as a note: the premise of most threads will skew toward team rocket starting off with an advantage. however, this does not mean that team rocket must necessarily win should those involved wish for a particular outcome.

this does not count as a PVP event required for team rocket to create GENESECT.

GENERAL RULES

below is a general list of guidelines. these rules are subject to change.

• one character per player.
• a character must have at least 50 POSTS to participate.
• you may only participate in one PVP thread.
• please provide a TL;DR with each post.
• bold moves/abilities/items used in each post.
• please include information when character unique abilities are used (include a description of a custom z-move when you use it).
• no strict posting order but be courteous of others in your thread.
• the expected turn around per posts is roughly THREE DAYS. if you must skip a player in that round, assume the immediate threat (if applicable) has been taken care of and move on.

this event will also be following the PVP-CENTRIC GUIDELINES found here. please refer to the FAQ/PVP HELP section as well.

EVENT MECHANICS

this event will use a derivative of the MERIT POINTS system found in PAAA. this iteration of the MP system will not be the same one present in POSTDORMITUM, an event scheduled later this year.

participants can earn MP points for engaging in a variety of actions throughout the thread. it is up to each player to track the total MP they have earned and log it in the MP thread located: here. this is an optional mechanic and players do not have to engage with tracking their points if they do not wish to.

below are a variety of ways to earn MP. these values and methods are subject to change.

you may claim more than one of these methods in your post. however, each one can only be claimed once PER POST.

• 10 MP for assisting another character and/or their Pokemon.
• 10 MP for referencing another character (must include tag).
• 10 MP if your attempt fails. this can extend beyond just attacks such as trying to deceive an opponent, distract them, or sneak up on them.
• 30 MP if you mention an opponent’s attempt (deceit, distract, strategy) is successful against you.
• 20 MP if you mentions suffering from a status ailment (poison tick, paralyzed this turn, frozen).

there are no limits for claiming these.

• 30 MP for having your pokemon hit by an opponent’s attack.
• 120 MP for having your character hit by an opponent’s attack.
• 150 MP for having your pokemon knocked out by an opponent.
• 300 MP for having your character significantly injured by an opponent.
• 300 MP for having your pokemon killed by an opponent.

these can be claimed ONCE PER INSTANCE for the whole faction. a moderator will track these independently.

• 50 MP if an opponent MEGA EVOLVES.
• 50 MP if an opponent utilizes a SYGNA SUIT.
• 50 MP if an opponent TERASTALLIZES.
• 100 MP if an opponent uses a Z-MOVE.

each thread will have its own pool of MP per faction. as these points accumulate, the participating faction may choose to spend these points to purchase a FACTION BOOSTER. these boosters will take the form of an IC mod post that will provide that faction with a slight advantage within that thread.

PLOT

below are the opening prompts for both factions.

due to the nature of this event only characters that are within THE LEAGUE organization (not to be confused with the site faction) and TEAM ROCKET may participate. [break][break]

league premise:
[break][break]

a few league members are stationed around one of the WILD RIFTS. they act as general security should something unexpected happen.
[break][break]

some league members have already entered the WILD RIFT prior to when PREDORMITUM occurs. they are on their way back to hoenn when rocket attacks. due to their expedition, they may be injured and/or exhausted.
[break][break]

unrelated to security, some league members are on the scene in anticipation of the expedition teams return.

rocket premise:

knowing that THE LEAGUE has installed some security around the WILD RIFTS, team rocket has orchestrated their own operation to overwhelm a site with sheer numbers. they want to launch their own expedition into the unknown. they may also have other objectives such as:

• successfully sending a party into the RIFT.
• sabotaging league members by destroying or stealing on-site equipment.
• conducting on-site research of the RIFT.

as of PREDORMITUM, team rocket has not successfully sent a whole team into a WILD RIFT.

listed below are the threads members can sign up for. take note that some will have limited slots, requirements, or different rules. slots are first come first serve. once sign-ups are full, or enough time has elapsed, the thread will be created.

a team rocket mega-thread where they discuss the operation.

this can cover topics such as who will be designated with what task, discuss concerns, perform last minute preparations, etc. this can be on the way to the WILD RIFT or in a different setting.

this is an optional thread and all participating TEAM ROCKET characters may participate. this does not block you from joining any of the other threads.

while league members patrol the WILD RIFT, team rocket invades en masse to overwhelm them. their objective is to break onto the rift site to allow the rest of their members to carry out their objectives.

while some league members wait for the expedition team to return, team rocket breaks onto the rift site. to save the strength of their own expedition team, team rocket's vanguard moves to confront and combat any that stand in their way.

inside the WILD RIFT, the league's expedition team is about to return. however, team rocket's expedition team appears right before they can exit, leading to a confrontation.
