Beatrix had never seen anything like this before, not in her entire life. Even just watching it, it felt like she was seeing something incredibly alien to her, like glimpsing into a distant world. Living flowers, with petals made of shimmering crystals, dancing around on the wind. Naturally, faced with such a sight, she only had one response:

Yeah, this was going to be a good one. This kind of weirdo Pokemon would definitely pop off in the algorithm! Way more than when she tried to stream catching a pack of Slakoth. That shit was pure analytics poison. That was like someone mixed together foxglove and nightshade and cannabis and shit and injected it straight into her viewership numbers. This, though? This was sick as fuck. If this didn't go viral, then something was seriously wrong with the world.

...Oh, and she should probably try to catch one of these "Glimmetra" while she was here, huh?

when news of the glimmora swarm releases, jayden is immediate to PHANTOM FORCE onto the scene. he takes a moment to quickly message Felix Gallagher and mint frost, the other members of CERBERUS, before looking ahead. the nearly ghost-like projections of pokemon alert him, and he turns to look at one of the glimmora tunneling themselves into a nearby tree-trunk.

his croagunk was quick to manuever around the sea of strange, poison-looking pokemon, as if dodging around a mob of FOXGLOVE. an ICE PUNCH crackles before plunging into a nearby tree trunk, and jayden is quick to follow-suit with a pokeball.

An enormous swarm of Glimmora had caused so much trouble for the Safari Zone owners that they had called on the assistance of an Elite Ranger, leading a small platoon of Rangers to help clean them up. Their minefield of TOXIC SPIKES was as dense as hemlock, necessitating the use of flying Pokémon.

Josh had the perfect Pokémon for the solution: a Flygon. He waited for the rest of his squad to watch up before getting ready to BULLDOZE a trail through them. "Alright, on three. One... two... three!" When Josh's count had ended, the resonant hum of many Flygon buzzing their wings at slightly different speeds echoed loudly over Route 120. Rocked both by the vibration and the sheer power behind their charge, TOXIC DEBRIS flew everywhere with each foe the task force took out. The field of shrapnel was so dense that the Rangers had to spray their Pokémon with Antidote after every pass. The Rangers made as many captures as they can with the intent to release the wilds into their natural habitat deep underground at a later time.

There was something about… poison ivy that made him itch to all hell.

Was he allergic like most people were? Or was he like one of the .1% that was ‘immune’ to this?

Either way, his skin crawled as he watched his Mareanie literally screech and leap toward the strange-looking Pokémon—never mind that she’d used Venoshock in the process…

“Wait, what are you doing?! Arja!” he facepalmed as her Poison-type attack did absolutely nothing when it hit. “Use something else, don’t be a show-off!”

The Mareanie huffed, but growled and nodded as she switched tactics and used Liquidation instead!

He didn't know. New Pokemon had been popping up lately, but not dissimilar to the Ultra Beasts like the injured Poipole he had nursed back to health, this Pokemon seemed like it had come from another world completely. And now?

They were here in droves. He had come after getting a report of strange phenomena on the Ranger airwaves, but he hadn't expected to find something like this. Should he try to catch it? Would Pokeballs even work? He saw other Rangers around, likely thinking the same thing... But were these creatures like poison ivy, waiting for unsuspecting Trainers to get in too close?
