Who needed Aquaman when you could have a Palafin?

El was perfectly content to watch the water-types mingling about out amongst the waves just beyond the shallows of Slateport Beach. Among non-psychic-type pokemon, Palafin and Finnizen were highly intelligent and social - it sometimes made them wonder, if humans didn't exist, would a species of pokemon like the Finnizen family take their place?

Well, now wasn't quite the time for existentialism. Instead, they'd take the time to snap a short video of the sights for Isaac Merlo - they wanted to include their brother in on this somehow, after all!

(And if the lens ends up splashed and blurred when a certain Grotle charges onwards to try and play with the Finnizen-Palafin pod, well... Let's just say that Yggy was enjoying the rays, too!)

You don't trust these dolphins.

Seriously. It feels like every time you turn away from them, they vanish from your sight, replaced by a larger, more muscular, less dolphinesque form of a dolphin. They don't even act like fish, either - They seem to act more like people than anyone else, making eheheheh-noises at one another as though they were talking to one another. Who do they think they are? It's like they think they're some kind of aquatic man or something. It's pretty fucked up, and you don't like it, not one bit.

But, hell, you're not picky. Doesn't matter if they're a weird fish or a weird fishperson, you've got Pokeballs to spare and a crippling lack of water types in your merry cavalcade. So, time to plug that gap.

Super heroes. One might consider them as such when the Palafin swarm breached the waves along the coastline of Slateport. They dragged the attention of trainers from far and wide gathering them here.

Johanna was no different.

While the aquatic super(wo)men hadn’t caused any trouble yet, from what she knew, it would only be a matter of time before it would begin. And so she would do her part in easing the chance of conflict between people and Pokémon.

Today’s fighter would be Anat, the Blastoise. The Muscly body of the shell-covered tank quickly found a challenge against a group of Palafin and Finizen. No more heroic were they than they could group up against this would be intruder.

But Johanna did not fear this challenge, instead as the battle raged on she merely waited for an opportune time to throw a Pokéball.

Assuming of course such a time would come.

His altaria flutters down from the sky where she'd been following Lam from above. "Wonder what that's about," he mutters mostly to himself as he wanders closer and proceeds to see the swarm of palafin and finizen flipping and hopping out of the water.[break][break]

Unlike aquaman, Lam's not really much for aquatic life. Fish have never quite been considered his friends. Still, he's never seen pokemon quite like this one before, and figures it must be yet another Paldean addition thrown into the mix. If anything, he might as well try to catch one and see why it's sorta got this whole superman sorta energy to it.[break][break]

As he crept forward to throw a ball, his altaria swoops overhead SINGING a melody that will hopefully lull one of the pokemon into a more open state for catching.
