CONSTANT ACTIVITY SPURS THE TEMPLE'S UNDERLYING MACHINATIONS. beyond the slightly parted doors are the whispers of stone levers and steel gears. the infrastructure of a bygone era reactivates once more. ushered by the modern generation who has long lost their roots.

those more intimate with the MECHANICAL KINGDOM, such as , will recognize some stark differences. the latter moves with an industrial rhythm. the WILD RIFTS provide a gate to a world with enough unknowns that it seems almost magical. a concept that is often chalked up to different rules for different worlds.

but this temple is grounded in reality. bound to the laws of this world and manipulated by primitive technologies. a mere glimpse at hoenn’s long forgotten history.

if , , and haven’t realized the connection between the dampened TELEPORTATION, and their DEJA VU, it should not come as a surprised. once upon a time, the DESERT RUINS seemed just as extravagant. but the temple they explored was long decayed to the sands of time.

THE ICE BEGINS TO MELT RAPIDLY. deep within the temple’s heart, burns an energy so potent that shelved memories grow out of proportion. those who have experienced GOODBYE GALAR will know true fear. for what lies ahead is a nauseous sight: a modern day POWER SPOT.

here, they are no longer shielded by the twisted contortions of a revisionist’s memory. being this close to a POWER SPOT has the same effect as ULTRA DEEP SEA. fear starts to prey on the mind, insecurities fester. being unleashed after this many years makes it impossible to bear. anyone who defies its power will be devoured alive.

a concern once echoed by the comissioner, . regardless of the AQUA INITIATIVE’s secret stance about creating an artificial POWER SPOT, a natural one lies right before their very eyes. where else can they manifest? how many others exist without them knowing?

questions they can consider after they make it out alive. for their safety is far from guaranteed. only those able to harness a different type of ENERGY seem able to resist, much less march forward. and before them lies a threat greater than the POWER SPOT: a REGICE built on top of it.

similar to the pokemon who surfaced from GALAR’s POWER SPOTS, the REGICE is attached to the source. its size proves daunting, in-line with other DYNAMAXED pokemon. however, when it moves, its CLEAR BODY reveals that the POWER SPOT serves as its core.

its many eyes flash in alien patterns. the high pitch beep counts off each trainer. without even the slightest hesitation, the pokemon fires a HYPER BEAM, vaporizing anything in its way.

TO PROCEED, your faction will have to have 7 PLAYERS use a BATTLE MECHANIC to attack / defend against the REGICE.[break][break]

players who wish to participate this round should make a post that: [break][break]

  • mentions their character attacking or defending from the REGICE.
  • uses one of these battle mechanics: MEGA EVOLUTIONS, Z-MOVES, SYGNA SUITS, TERASTALIZE.

their post must include one of the listed battle mechanics. they must possess access to the mechanic but it does not have to utilize their REPRESENTATIVE POKEMON.

RACE MECHANICS



RULES


THIS MEGATHREAD will test how well your faction can clear moderator requirements in a timely manner. [break][break]

each player and their representative pokemon is a resource for your faction to utilize. each round will introduce an obstacle that certain pokemon can clear. [break][break]

it is up to players to address these obstacles by following the moderator prompt. [break][break]

it should be noted that each participant can only post ONE TIME. once you have cleared an obstacle, you are essential ‘used up’. [break][break]


the EXCEPTION to this rule is if a participants wants to pay 500 MP. this will allow a player to assist with the obstacle without being ‘used up’. [break][break]

each faction will tackle the same obstacles with different values to reflect the disparity in players. once an obstacle is cleared, a moderator will provide information on which players cleared that particular obstacle. [break][break]

those player may now create a FACTION RACE BATTLE. this is just a battle thread that allows both participants to earn MP.

WHICH OBSTACLE SHOULD I CLEAR?

if your pokemon is versatile, you should pick an obstacle your pokemon excels at. for the first round, players with the heaviest pokemon for their faction were tagged as a hint. if no obstacle sticks out, you may want to wait just to ensure your faction does not hit a bottleneck.

however, account for the OOC aspects of this event. if you do not think you will be available later on, or cannot finish a FACTION RACE BATTLE quickly, you may want to clear an obstacle asap.

WHY WOULD I PAY 500 MP TO HELP CLEAR?



[break][break]

to help your faction progress in the event! should one faction fall behind by the end of the event, this will have an effect on the narrative outcome.

another reason you may want to contribute is to post again. some players may enjoy the spotlight or feeling that their character is actively contributing to their faction. however, it should be noted that this does not entitle paying players to rewards or moderated acknowledgement.

your faction may run low on resources the longer this event goes on. if they stall due to a bottleneck, that would be the most opportune time to assist. likewise, if your faction is coming close to a deadline, your help may ensure that they clear it on time.

WHY IS THIS EVENT CALLED A RACE?

both faction are attempting to clear obstacles by deadline. should they be unable to, they will face a steeper obstacle or just have to wait longer before the next moderator response. should a large enough gap happen by the end of the event, this will heavily influence the narrative outcome of the event.

WHY IS THERE A DEADLINE INSTEAD OF ASKING US TO MOD REQ WHEN COMPLETED?

the deadline gives both factions X amount of time to clear. should they be unable to clear by deadline, they will be given a static time delay as well. this is to help mitigate the discrepancy in activity between players within a reasonable threshold along with accommodating varied time zones.

The ice titan was gigantic, looming over the heads of everyone who managed to make it so close to the cave's center. Its seven spots flashed like strobe lights, blinking with every possible pattern they could produce, and too quickly to follow at that. A sphere of pure energy coalesced around the ice construct: a HYPER BEAM that would reduce anything, or anyone, it touched to ash. There were too many of his friends he could not let down. " , , , I'm going in. And don't try to stop me!"

At first, it looked like the Gym Leader was throwing himself into the Regice's wrath, using his Zeraora steed, and possibly himself, as a sacrifice to disrupt the attack and make it misfire away from his friends. He had a plan, though. The HYPER BEAM would take time to form. If there was anyone in Hoenn that would take advantage of a split second, no matter how small that was, it was .

Zipping himself into his Zeraora's cocoon, he firmly held the thundercat's reins, squeezed the creature's sides, and raised his Z-GLOVE high. There was no usual shout. No callout of the Z-Move. No fanfare. Just pure, unadultered speed as Zeraora and rider disappeared into living lightning. A sonic boom rumbled through the natural hallways during the ultrafast HYPERSONIC PLASMA CHARGE that would have reduced almost any other passenger to paste.

Rushing through the cavern, through the doors whirring to life that had seemed to lay dormant for so long, it was clear that they were reaching the end of all of this... Though hopefully not the end to everything...[break]
Yuina's breath clouded in front of her, the heart of the temple they had just reached was frozen in ice, and she shivered as she and the other forces moved in on the scene, but before too long the ice was melting and cascading already in pools of water as an energy in the center began to overtake everything. She'd never seen the energy before, nor the structure that rested atop it, but it was so painfully clear that whatever this was, was a threat, and a devastating one at that...[break][break]
A Pokemon came to life, screeching with high pitched beeps and flashing lights on its front, and it was an enormous... Impossible size... Yuina was... speechless... overwhelmed... She, this was so, so much more than she could have ever imagined it being... And then it charged an attack.[break][break]
As quickly as Yuina could managed, in spite of her fear, her panic, and everything that had happened on this Arceus forsaken island, Yuina focused all of her energies as she opened a Pokeball, and within its light the energy of Mega Evolution took hold. Emerging from the energies, growing larger, and larger still until it towered as high as the icy Pokemon before them, Tahlos' mega form loomed over her.[break][break]
The giant steel type rumbled, his very energy shaking the ground beneath Yuina's feet, and willing her energy with him, to empower him in this state, Tahlos roared and lunged forward. His metallic body spun, the crystals in his control surging around him, and the titan raised its head to his full height as he rushed forward and used Iron Head on the assaulting Pokemon, trying to force himself into the line of the devastating Hyper Beam to avert its power, even by a small margin.

It had taken him some time to finally recover from the… stalemate match he had with , however his decision to stay behind a little bit to rest would be rewarded, because all things considered—who knew how many of them were left in this entire thing?!

The moment the uncanny sense of déjà vu hit him, though—that was more than enough to set off so many alarm bells inside his head. While not as intimately familiar with the rest who were going through fear hundredfold (as he wasn’t present during the events of Goodbye Galar) fact of the matter is…

That strange, inhumane glow recalled another set of alarm bells inside his head!

He’d arrived just in time to see shoot off forward, reckless as always; he then pinched the bridge of his nose out of sheer exasperation.

“This brat’s going to get himself fucking killed!” he grumbled before looking around and seeing that there were alien lights coming from the ice… not that he knew what a Regice was, but the flashing… it kind of looked similar(?) to the ones he’d encountered in that one other place…

He then popped the Dusk Ball forward, watching as his surprised Scolipede emerged and let out a cry of dismay at the incoming Hyper Beam—nothing like a little extra serving of déjà vu to spice things up, are we right?!

At the same time, he plucked a long-forgotten crystal from one of his back pockets—who knew this was going to come in handy—before he pointed forward.

“Gale, I know you’re just as t-tired as I am, but please. Once more!”

The Scolipede roared, before he crushed the crystal between his hands and held onto the Bug-type’s head.

“Let’s fucking do this.”

A strange, ephemeral glow surrounded the Scolipede as the power of a Z-Move emanated from them both; rather than throwing out a normal-sized Rock Slide, the attack materialized as a Z-Move: Living Wall that would hopefully serve as a barricade against the incoming Hyper Beam that was ready to vaporize them all into fucking dust.

Said ‘wall’ of super-sized rocks then lashed out forward, attempting to defend him (and whoever else was near or behind him) from the incoming attack!

(Last stand? Who knows?!)

Hues of cobalt-blue reflect the gleaming energy. "There's a POWER SPOT... inside it."

Remiel can hardly believe what he's seeing. Unease and a familiar lingering fear creep at the edges of his mind. The ICE GIANT he'd only ever seen in various texts and artifacts (some that he'd personally unearthed himself) looms before them now: a testament to Hoenn's bias towards making the legendary real.

The GARCHOMP he is mounted upon shivers and hisses at the powerful energy she senses with her horn-like appendages. "Ay, DAMKINA," He softly coos, patting the side of her neck in an attempt to soothe her edginess. As soon as he realizes the REGICE has noticed them, however, that attempt is immediately discarded for alarm. There is little time to act.

With haste, Remiel steers his Garchomp towards the cover of a LIVING WALL the SCOLIPEDE belonging to has cast. Once the deafening roar of the HYPER BEAM quiets, the exiled prince nods with thanks at his ranger colleague. "Thanks for the support, Anderson. I'm going in to assist Devlin."

Hopping off his Garchomp, the royal slides up the sleeve on his left arm and reveals a MEGA BRACELET. Damkina undergoes MEGA EVOLUTION shortly after that, darting out from their cover afterward to leap into the air with a shriek before stabbing her scythes into the ground. The earth rumbles and groans before sharp pillars of rock (STONE EDGE) erupt to strike the ice titan.

LEAGUE FACTION RACE


Holy duckin' races Batman!


This was a long fucking day.

As ever, nothing in Hoenn could just be normal. And even though he should've known from the moment the island just magically unearth and unsea'd itself that things would likely be getting weird, he had still somehow not expected to find this.

A goddamn Regice and a Godder-damneder Power Spot. Of all things had to be right about. He was already beginning to get a headache— worse yet, he was pretty sure he was starting to hear voices, too...!

"Garo!" He shouted over the murmuring in his ear as the giant Regice's eyes glowed and shrill noises filled the air.

If the thing was anything like the Regirock in past reports, then they needed to act fast.

His chest shone brightly with the crackling light of Mega Evolution as his Orbeetle was enveloped in an dark egg, growing larger and larger in size before suddenly bursting open.

The Mega Orbeetle hovered over its trainer and his crew as they all squared for a fight, its eyes a neon blue as the space around it began to contort, the distortion swiftly spreading over the chamber as Gravity was flipped on its head, eliminating any hold gravity might've had on the League's crew or the giant.

With a strong push, the Orbeetle attempted to assist the rest of the league out the Hyper Beam's paths as his trainer hopped onto him, the duo zooming around the chamber and evading Hyper beams while trying to assist their allies in doing the same.

Doug's eyes glowed cyan and magenta as he subtly tapped his Orbeetle's carapace with his foot, seemingly prompting it to summon a Psychic Terrain— which fell upon the Regice like a tons of sand, trying to slow down its movements.

-DEFENDING: G-max Gravitas to turn the room into zero-G moon jumping fun. Don't let gravity tell you what you can do, y'all!

he has no intention of stopping anyone such as . they are here to show off their resolve after all, just as kyle, himself, was planning to.

the champion makes his entrance. he forms his hand to the shape of a gun and points its barrel towards the regice. his smeargle, likewise, mirrors the position held by kyle, only with the tip of its tail held towards the titan instead of its paw.

his sygna suit pulses with energy. a dark void creeps from his shadow towards the power spot. it's much weaker than he's seen it before, but this is why he's holding a trial run.

PSEUDO-AVATARSHIP
Using a move will prevent the sync Pokemon from using that move in the same battle until the sygna suit is inactive.


"battle routine set!"

the area around them lights up with a purple hue, setting up a ghost zone with his suit as the epicenter of the phenomenon. his smeargle readies its move as it takes in the boost of the field.

TRAINER MOVE: TYPE WISH < GHOST >
applies a field effect called a zone that empowers the type of your choice for a brief period of time.


he holds multiple feelings at the sight of the power spot. excitement? fear? it all muddles up in a weird mixture that only results to him feeling brave about facing the future that a new component in the game board will bring.

BRAVE
increases the strength of your pokemon; lowers defenses


from the shadows from the dark void comes another portal to the distortion world. harnessing the immense forces of nature that lie within the forbidden dimension, the smeargle opens up on the regice with the beginnings of its best shadow force.

's quote is just too catchy not to say in this moment.

THE HYPER BEAM PROVES MORE POTENT THEN EXPECTED. an attack of this magnitude does more than just damage. it vaporizes shields and pokemon alike, piercing through the temple walls until its light can be seen from the island’s coast. even GHOST pokemon are unable to faze through such a dense energy output.

however, the REGICE is given no quarter. those lucky enough to survive its initial attack redouble their efforts in taking down the awoken titan. numerous attacks scratch its surface, with those utilizing different ENERGY SOURCES proving the most effective.

eventually, the pokemon stutters under its own weight, decaying as the entire chamber continues to melt.

as the REGICE lumbers forward, those present must navigate between it and enemy combatants. the titan’s presence is not enough to dissuade the enemy faction. even the slightest mistake could lead to an unfortunate end.

THE MORE THE REGICE IS WORN DOWN, the more exposed the POWER SPOT becomes. when it is no longer completely encased in ice, DYNERGY starts to leak. the resulting radiation causes several pokemon to DYNAMAX at once—a phenomenon unheard of outside of GALAR.

this abundance of supersized pokemon make the REGICE RUINS uncomfortably compact. but even that is enough enough to dissuade the conflict between the league and team rocket. beyond their personal grievances, a new objective spurs this conflict.

the defeated REGICE.

whittled to a fraction of its original size, the titan has completely separated from the POWER SPOT. much like the fragments found by , , and , the REGICE’s main body now consist of a crystalized mass of ice. a treasure neither side can afford the other to grasp.

but there is much to be uncovered in pandemonium. what was the temple’s purpose? why did it resurface now?

it starts with the REGICE’s awakening. the temple that had continued to unfurl during the fight expands like a well kept dungeon. various rooms prop up under shifting walls, braille runes revealing a deep and rich history. however, these stories are erased as DYNAMAX pokemon are sent tumbling through brittle storyboards.

those wise enough to try and bargain a ceasefire will find that the very environment works against them. TERA CRYSTALS erupt from underneath, instigating renewed fervor to anyone willing to take their power. but they are not a boon meant to decide a victor.

they are a ticking time bomb.

these tunnels are an ANOMALY to hoenn soil. an invasive system that forces tectonic movements to rise and fall. the island is no exception. under the weight of DYNAMAX pokemon, and an unstable mantle, it too will submerge just as fast as it rose.

MEMBERS FROM BOTH SIDES SCAVENGE WHAT THEY CAN. anything not bolted down is up for grabs. whether it be preservation, material gain, or even prevention, such behavior ensures that not all is lost when the REGICE RUINS sink back into the ocean’s depths.

for TEAM ROCKET, ’s and ’s photography of REGICE mid-battle proves imperative to their understanding. referencing the pokemon’s odd size leans into the prevailing theory that it is indeed DYNAMAXED. closer examination reveals that, while the POWER SPOT was responsible for its defeat, it was very much apart of it.

the LEAGUE is able to surmise the same. for they are the ones who seize control of the island before its final moments. they move quick, utilizing the RANGER CORPS, to preserve what they can. their efforts allow ancient texts to be deciphered among HOENN’S SCHOLARS and HISTORIC COMMUNITY, revealing that an ancient civilization had also encountered ETERNATUS.

from their experience in GOODBYE GALAR, both sides are able to deduce that hoenn faced a similar fate. however, instead of crafting weapons, they created pokemon.

further investigation into the island’s depth uncovers a room similar to the one found by and in the REGIROCK RUINS. by coordinating the spots of various effigies against hoenn’s topology, both faction are able to deduce several points of interest:

an investigation from the LEAGUE’S SAPPHIRE DIVISION discovers nothing of note. for they are far too late. the guardians of the DESERT RUINS, ANCIENT TOMB, EXCURSION OF METEOR FALLS, and now ISLAND CAVE have already awakened. only NEW MAUVILLE isn’t accounted for. what they find there instead is remnants of the MEGALOPOLAN INVASION OF MAUVILLE, where a DYNAMAXED XURKITREE laid siege. [break][break]

as for why they stir now? no one knows. but the fact that they have spells an ominous future for hoenn. after all, they were sealed on purpose, left in the trust that future generations would free them when the time is right. [break][break]

but now that the last has been activated, an OLD ONE AWAKENS.[break][break]




THE LEAGUE



AMONG THE TREASURES RESCUED FROM THE ISLAND CAVE, the league is able to get their hands on a cryptic SEAL STONE. in their effort to catch up to TEAM ROCKET, their science division devotes countless resources to understanding its purpose and origin. they are unable to divulge much, but the prominence of work being devoted to DYNAMAXING and TERASTALLIZATION allows for a breakthrough.

a machine is built around a large TERA CRYSTAL, allowing for the SEAL STONE to be slotted in like a cartridge. in doing so, the LEAGUE unlocks access to A SIMULATED UNIVERSE.

their other acquisitions prove much less exciting. an odd REGI STATUE, similar to the one recovered by and now resides in their custody. likewise, the defunct POWER SPOT is relocated to DEWFORD until it can be properly transferred to EVER GRANDE.

once there, a parting gift from NAUTICA, a remnant of REGIROCK and a permanently DYNAMAXED ROGGENROLA, spur advancements in DYNAXMAXING technology. a topic that will certainly bring about heavy debate as the LEAGUE ruminates on its usage and detriments.

TEAM ROCKET



ULTIMATELY, it is TEAM ROCKET that manages to recover the REGICE’s remnants. it’s body is transported back to sootopolis for further research. after some time, on its own accord, the REGICE reconstructions itself into a smaller but functioning form.

initially, the science division has jurisdiction over REGICE. however, with assigned to DEOXYS and ’s preoccupied as the UNOWN’s avatar, recently promoted ADMIN is entrusted with the prehistoric pokemon. an orchestration to both diversify and utilize rocket’s various talents.

, feel free to place REGICE into howard’s pc and choose the moveset like a gachapon pokemon.

in time, the admin is able to deduce that REGICE’s delayed appearance is due to its preservation. seeing as its entire temple was frozen over until the TERA CRYSTALS forced it to surface, a theory arises: REGICE is the last to awaken.

but only REGIROCK and REGIDRAGO are accounted for. where are the others?
