THE OPENING EVENT

People immediately connect the setting to a roleplaying game, and as far as structures for similar games go, the first NPC they see is the one who starts them off to their adventure.

The Snubbull that stands before them picks up a scepter and stands on top of its throne. With the tip of its staff, it fixes the crown on its head before it opens its mouth. Unsurprisingly, it speaks in a squeaky voice to address those that answered his call.

"Welcome adventurers," it greets, "and thank you for coming here. As you know, the Kingdom of SYLVIS is currently experiencing a crisis."

"With the castle as the kingdom's last bastion, I heed you to do your best to make this place safe from any threats, lest you want everything around you to end."

A cry from a ferocious beast howls from outside the castle walls. Those who brought their Pokemon with them will find themselves alone as those Pokemon answer the call, rushing outside without a care for their trainers.

They are, after all, SHADOW POKEMON.

"Oh no. It looks like time has ran out." The Snubbull taps its scepter against the throne, opening another screen in front of each player's. "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this."

they say dreams serve as windows to the subconscious mind. you will be making a conscious decision this time.

Upon receiving the item, participants of the scenario would find themselves being able to access a menu screen that most people versed in VRMMORPGs would recognize. Everything would be nil, except THE GIFT FROM THE KING.

HELLO WORLD

Participants aren't forced out of the castle, but a FLOATING TIMER by the King's head that ticks down suggests that they have to. A week's worth of time was given, and when a log out button appears on their menu screen, people recognize they can get in and out of the scenario at any time.

"How do we get back if we get out?" an anonymous person would ask. "Just go back to sleep, 4head," the Snubbull would answer out of character.

The castle becomes everyone's CENTRAL HUB, a base of activity for those who do not find themselves rushing for the objective. For those that do, however, a forest outside awaits them.

Some of them feel confident, since they were given a personal ability to play off with. The others, careful as opposed to playing for fun.
[break][break]
Glitched scars appear floating in space. Some textures fizzle in and out, such as trees or brightly colored flowers, and the land sometimes doesn't act in accordance to laws of nature. DISTORTION WORLD is an accurate analogy to the world's current behavior.

Shadow Pokemon leap out of these openings, attacking anything that isn't one of their own. Those who die will find themselves kicked out of the realm, returning them to their deep slumber and only getting a CHANCE TO GET BACK the following night they fall asleep.

Those with AVATAR ABILITIES will be unable to use them, evening the hellish playing field for everyone else. With limited tools at your disposal, the administrator watches how an underdog weaves the beginning of their story.

For this event, participants are required to make a post on their previous DREAM WORLD thread from the PREVIOUS EVENT. Although the event is casual, guidelines must be followed to be allowed to the next round.

These guidelines are often narrative prompts that writers must hit in their post. Although there will be NO WORD COUNT, please avoid entries that can be considered as lazy.

Objectives for each character are as follows:

• Experience distress from other Shadow Pokemon in the forest
• Create a scenario where your ability will find its niche use
• Against all odds, find your Pokemon and use the Dream Ball on them
• Enter Scenario 1 after the capture

SCENARIO 1

The King has granted a participant an ABILITY related to their nickname to aid them in their endeavor. The caveat is that these abilities are supposed to be too niche and borderline useless for most scenarios. Find a balance of useless and useful, and you're good to go. An example would be:

For avatars, or those who were previously one, they are given a choice to change their nicknames to their ASSIGNED TITLES designated by the DRK Triad.

With the aid of the ability, navigate within the forest in search of your Pokemon while dodging other Shadow Pokemon that have been unknowingly let loose by other participants from their PCs. Your Pokemon, too, will attack anyone it sees, regardless of whether you're its trainer or not.

The timer on the throne will stop in your character's point-of-view when the Pokemon gets inside the ball.

As soon as the DREAM BALL captures your Pokemon, your character will find themselves in a world frozen in time. They will be presented to make a choice from a text box that prompts them one or the other. Once they pick an option, they will be given a warning message before they lock in their answer to prevent accidents.

• For the most part, this will continue to be a solo event. Please continue to use the thread from DREAM DROP DISTANCE for these prompts and ask shiv to unlock it should you need to.
• The main mega thread will feature prompts that you must fulfill. To fulfill these prompts, post in your character's Dream Drop Distance thread.
• Each round will usually last from 5 to 7 days.
• Missing a round unfortunately kicks you out of future rounds. You will still be able to finish the last round, however, and receive rewards based on your progress.

The counter drops to zero, and those that didn't fulfill the requirements had their visitor's pass REVOKED. A page is turned during the next night, continuing the plot of the story about the RUINED KINGDOM.

The next night, the participants of the game find themselves assembled in the same manner as their first visit. With them are their Pokemon, safely tucked inside the DREAM BALL within their respective inventories.

"Looks like everything's lively tonight," the Snubbull King nonchalantly comments. Compared to the last time, everyone's avatar is now resembling a Pokemon they partnered up with, filling the hall with color. "Uh, let me see what's next on the script."

The Pokemon takes a piece of parchment out, takes one glance, and then returns it to its pockets.

"Please don't make me repeat myself, so listen up: Scouts have found the source of these dangerous creatures. Yay, right? Go forth and bring an end to these dungeons and bring peace to our kingdom's lands."

The COUNTDOWN on the timer starts again. Another task to fulfill is given out, but it is offset by a SET OF ITEMS rewarded to you by the system for completing the last quest.

"I'm talking about dungeons, by the way. Fun."

POKEMON TAMERS

Should anyone check their inventories, a new item will register itself and be bound to their character, both in a literal and metaphorical sense.

Each of them already has a PREDETERMINED VALUES attached upon receiving. Some of them do not make sense for those in denial of themselves, while others were as coherent as it can get.

The TITLES attached to each participant makes itself the THEME for these cards. At the very least, they manifest themselves in ideas already familiar to them, so nothing outlandish surprises them unlike the last quest.

If one were to compare theirs with others, they would soon find that the nature of their cards DIFFER WITH THE CHOICE they made last round. The Snubbull King notices this, and stands up from his seat to explain.

"Isn't it nicer this way? It's a little bit minor, I know, but it does feel good when your choices affect something in the game, right?"

For those that kept their SHADOW POKEMON, the cards they receive are item cards, while those that chose PURIFICATION instead receive move cards.

• Form a party before entering a dungeon
• Find a "dungeon" that resembles the setting of your dream from the previous part of the event.

SCENARIO 2

You realize that the party you've been clearing the dungeon were illusions, or rather, part of the dream all along. They will still help you, but their autonomy is clearly REPLACED BY AN AI that simulated their behavior based on their title. It isn't perfect, but it's good enough.

Parties can be as low as 2 to 4. You can npc them to your liking, and any inconsistencies with their portrayal will be attributed to an imperfect AI replication, so feel free to go nuts.

For the final boss fight, characters should use their cards effectively against the opponent.

If you chose to keep your SHADOW POKEMON, you get 3 ITEMS FROM THE GAMES that relate to your title. This can be any item as long as they are not related to Legendaries/plot/site mechanics or TMs. An example would be:

If you chose to PURIFY your Pokemon, you instead get 3 MOVES related to your title. The only restriction for this would be exclusive moves from Legendary Pokemon and the special LGPE moves. An example would be:

Using these tools, defeat the final boss of the dungeon that resembles as a Dynamax version of your character's favorite Pokemon. It can be their starter, or their most used Pokemon, or the Pokemon they brought here. For avatars, it can even be their patron Legendary.

Write an epic boss fight, or a convenient scene that skips it, whatever's better for the flow of the story, and the victory earns them a small token that relates to their dreams from the previous round. This will count as a flag for the system that clears your character for this round.

MULTIPLAYER

Should you want to explore this round with another character, create a new thread under the DREAM WORLD sub-board.

The main mechanics of the round should still be the same, but you can flavor the journey to the last floor differently. Perhaps it alternates between the dreams of each party member, or a combination of each of theirs.

The only time your characters will diverge will be on the final floor, where they will face different bosses separate from each other. They will still have their party members at that point, but they will just be clones that will be npc'd.

As soon as the fight is done, feel free to converge again.

You'll find that each distortion in space that riddle the world is something akin to THE ULTRA WILDS, except the portal that leads to them is opened with an item originating from it as opposed to a primal shard.

Going through them leads you to the world that housed your dreams. You and your Pokemon are INVINCIBLE in this realm, as well as your latent ABILITIES being heightened, though you still find that you lack the reliability to do things without your partner Pokemon.

Fortunately for you, your Pokemon are hard wired to destroy this place with you, but depending if you changed their coding or not, you will find yourself with varying outs.

With a SHADOW POKEMON, blatant destruction is the only key. They have embodied the destroyer of worlds in their nature, and it is only until the world is in flames will they stop.

With a PURIFIED POKEMON, their forced connection with you allows them to be empathetic with your connection to this world. It leads you to the path of least resistance to end the world- someone or something that means the most to you. Destroy it and end the dream.

What it cannot be is Pokemon that cannot be claimed through CUSTOM POKEMON TICKETS or those that are canonically owned by other PLAYER CHARACTERS.

As soon as you use up the item, a prompt appears on your character's screen for them to input their wish. There are no visible effects afterwards, and your character might see it as an easter egg befitting the NEW YEAR.

Whatever was written is then added to your PARTNER POKEMON's coding, forcefully implanting the trait your character wants the most. This changes their behavior in a manner that they embody an aspect of their trainer.
