Knight couldn't remember if this had been his idea or Cass' but the school encouraged them to take on jobs like this whenever possible. Something about experience for real life.[break][break]
Chani had been asked by some builders to help cut sheets of metal into the right sizes -- which she was more than happy to do, using her Metal Claw to make light work of her task. Knight was pleased to see her enjoy the task so much, while he hung back.[break][break]
He didn't think too hard about the whole shipbuilding thing. Why did the league need ships? Not his problem to figure out!

Coal-black eyes idly surveyed the shipyard as Stella was guided over to a truck loaded with steel parts. She was no stranger to manual labor; she had worked on construction sites for as long as she could remember like her mother before her, and her mother's mother. The generations of laborers stretched far into antiquity, a proud bloodline of those who did the work that was necessary. It was a good and honest way to live. [break][break]

Stella reached over with her trunk to scoop up a load of components to haul to the other side of the dock, the task a trivial one when emboldened by her SUPERPOWERed strength. Though guided by another dockworker, it was hardly necessary; she was a careful thing, mindful to make sure that none around her came to any harm. But she couldn't help but find herself momentarily distracted as she placed the parts gently onto the loading bay for other workers to sort. [break][break]

There across the way, her boy was excitedly talking to someone she didn't recognize, beaming with a toothy grin and gesticulating in an animated fashion. Stella normally had little tolerance for loafers on the job; shirking one's duty was a terrible sin, often resulting in unnecessary work being foisted upon others who didn't deserve it. But for him, the bright-eyed man with a smile that shone like the sun, maybe she could overlook this trespass, just this once. [break][break]

Cass unfortunately couldn't make it to accompany Sona when being sent on the job, but gladly, Knight could still take her and look after her a bit. Sona is not intimidated by the new environment, and happily walks amongst the workers after they were told to get to work. She would start chatting, inintelligible to any human, with anyone who'd be willing, while hammering enthusiastically away.

Her hammer's not really all that big ... yet. She uses Dragon Hammer to add more UMPF to her strikes, as she diligently works on the tasks she's been told to do. There's a pensive moment, however, and she mostly keeps to doing works where there's no obvious logo on them, whining if she's been put to a work station with this picture all over it.

She isn't sure what it means, but she knows Cass never looks too happy when she sees it. ... and she might also be stashing away some lose scrap metal. Maybe. Who would ever know! It's not like anyone would want it or use it ...

Hector surveyed the shipyard. He had come at the behest of his trainer, who had signed him up to help with building up the League's fleet. The Scizor did not know the first thing about boats, but he didn't question the order. [break][break]

Instead, he flew over to the nearest workers trying to haul large steel beams up a ramp. Picking up one beam in his large claws, he soared over to where they needed it, then went back for more. [break][break]

Hector's work continued well into the afternoon. He was able to reach places the humans could not and carry what was too heavy for them—as long as it didn't require the use of opposable thumbs.

The shining, burnished blue ‘metal’ of the Kingambit that had presided over one part of the docks would be easily spotted even from above.

The reason why Lonq was out here today was because some people needed some things that were metallic in nature to be taken care of; and Jack had the belated realization that the Kingambit could easily cut through steel beams like it was butter.

So, off the Kingambit went for the afternoon, taking over one side of the dock while he used Kowtow Cleave on the bigger sheets of metal to cut them down to size.

Geez, what were the humans making, and why did they need this much metal?! So weird.

Trey had been curious about the shipyard, so much so that he'd been harassing workers about what they were building and who it was for. Most of those he talked to told him to shove it and that it wasn't his business, which was kind of lame of them, to be honest. One man told him they were just ships for the League, and if that's all it was, fine. If it wasn't a big deal, why keep that information under wraps? Maybe they were wary of him being a Rocket and trying to suss out details in order to sabotage the project, which, granted, was a pretty good excuse, but he had a feeling they were just being stubborn because he was meddling where he didn't belong. Someone eventually told him that if he intended to run around the premises, he might as well put in a little work; make use of himself.

And so he did. Why not, right?

Besides, Remedy could use the exercise anyway. The Tinkaton giggled as she helped lift beams and transport sheet metal with her impressive strength, laughing when the man she passed her load to buckled under the weight. She even got to use her favorite item, a solid Gigaton Hammer or two more than enough to assist in the building of a ship.
