Kazimir had been the one to drag her all the way out here. Of course, she hadn't really minded, since any challenge was a challenge she felt worth tackling. She had been able to wield a Honedge in the real world, so she was inclined to think she should definitely be able to do it in the virtual world... right?[break][break]

Her face is washed with horror, however, as she watches several people ahead of them perish after placing their hands on the hilt. Not even Kazimir is safe from the Honedge's torment. It seems to wiggle just a bit at a couple people's attempts, but it isn't enough. Kazimir dies and she's up next.[break][break]

Embarrassment.

That's how Selena felt when after she had her chance to lift the honedge, the next thing she knew was the giant letters forming the words GAME OVER! popping into her screen.

She certainly did not need another let down but she was very eager at proving something to others.

And so, when she had another chance at trying to free the ancient steel from the stone, she grabbed its hilt with much conviction and eagerness.

The mere thought of perishing if the sword didn't choose you was terrifying. But since she had almost certainly experienced the temporary 'YOU DIED' logo at least once or twice since participating in the game, she was sure this wouldn't be nearly as terrifying as being caught out in a fight.[break][break]

So, she takes a deep breath as she watches yet another person die to the sword, and she takes a step forward to ultimately do the same.[break][break]

there was no game without rewards. and no rewards without risk. Wren was real cautious so far, but the thought of obtaining something cool was tempting. too tempting to ignore. she approached where all the other players failed so far, nerves eating away at her system.

In-game or out of game, Jason remained a huge fan of swords. A mysterious Honedge was intriguing enough to have him travel all the way to the stone. Needless to say it had not been hard to find it. A lot of people were gathered around it and they fell equally fast. It was no wonder. Such a rare artifact was bound to have a low drop rate in the game. But he was willing to try his luck, so he waited patiently until it was his turn.[break][break]

The sword in the stone. It was a classic legend, a tale as old as time. Although she had to admit, a Honedge in the stone was certainly an interesting take. The soul-stealing properties of the pokemon were certainly something to be feared, but in a video game, it simply sounded risky as compared to deadly. She stood far back as she watched many players attempt and fail, each one vanishing as their death was seemingly inevitable.

Curiously walking up to the sword, Ruby's eyes narrowed as she approached it. What was the harm in giving it a try? Her most recent spawn point was close by, so why not give it an attempt?

Rikiya watched many come by and fail to pull the sword out of the stone. Even though it was a slim chance of retrieving the blade, Rikiya shrugged his shoulders, thinking 'why not?' After all, if he were to get the loot, he could use it to potentially fuck with other players down the line. Otherwise, there was no harm in doing this. He would just respawn if his soul was stolen.

Rikiya grabbed the sword, and attempted to yank it out of the stone.

What would a Brawler like herself do with something like a sword?

She asked herself that question as she followed the rumors. What was it with that… some sword stuck in a rock? In a graveyard?

Okay that was a little disconcerting, but at least she could see people actively, actually heading there and trying to pull the damned thing out. The funny thing was they seemed to vanish into thin air, like… like they were being eaten, or something.

Shrugging her shoulders, she walked up to the stone and then saw the blue-colored hilt.

She wondered if this was a good idea.

Shrugging, she sets both her hands on it in an attempt to yank the danged thing out of the rock.
