ALTHOUGH THE DANCE OF ALOLAN MAROWAK is an impressive sight, it is the elegant performance of a lurantis' aromatic dance that is truly captivating. their arms end in floral scythes. they gather light with their sickle-like limbs, capturing the sun like an unsheathed blades. they seem to be teaching their young how to gather sunlight to perform SOLAR BLADE; however, many straggle off, leaving them open to possible capture.[break][break]

Predacious bug-types were no stranger to Kaida. Even if her Scyther, Dain, had only recently joined the team, he integrated rather well. Perhaps being around a bunch of wild and battle-hardened Pokemon was the Scyther's one true dream...however, anyone could tell the creature was more lonely than others. Perhaps craving companionship of similar Pokemon. She is no stranger to the type of strong, insectoid companionship Dain craves. [break][break]

So when a swarm of Lurantis wander through, a captivating sight, she brings along the young bug. Success. While they aren't Scyther, she can see interest spark in the Scyther as he wanders towards one and...lets out a nasty hiss? The Lurantis rounds on Dain, separated from the swarm, its scythes gleaming solar power. One of the young it was trying to teach huddled behind the Lurantis, reluctantly participating in this challenge. It hit Kaida in a moment of savage understanding. Scyther were warriors, this act must be him trying to befriend the other bug in the only way he knew how! [break][break]

She had no time to ponder, the two Pokemon clashing in a flurry of swipes and slashes. She can only ready a Pokeball, hoping Dain would give her the opening she needed. [break][break]

Gavin has never been much a fan of insects. Apart from his Golisopod, there were few that could capture and keep his attention.[break][break]

It is not their predacious nature but the colour of one of the Lurantis that draws his eye. Green, where its fellows were vivid pink, with piercing blue eyes. He stops in his tracks, watching them draw in sunlight through the gaps in the leafy canopy.[break][break]

So-called 'shiny' Pokemon have become a recent target of the scientist's studies, and it is for the green-hued mantis that Gavin aims: a difficult throw due to her proximity to her fellows.[break][break]

[attr="class","lance i"]it almost feels like he's intruding but he can't help but admire the way their SOLAR BLADES glow with the power of the sun. lurantis are such interesting pokemon: they pretend to be bug-types to protect themselves, and they can fire laser beams if they gather enough light. very interesting!

the lurantis aren't pretending to be PREDACIOUS insects this time, however, and he is grateful for that. he sees one straggle off to the side, separating itself from the group, and he decides to throw a pokeball at it, just because it had captivated him with its elegance and potential laser beams.

While these predacious pokemon were often the ones doing the hunting, it was time for them to be the prey. A straggler broke away from the herd to stretch and grab some extra rays of sun. It had a long day, and it deserved this rest. Their relaxation was short lived though, as a large being would soon birst from the bushes to attack.

Its heightened senses tipped it off, and it was able to nimbly jump away as a Blaziken landed where it was standing. Oscar would step out of the bushes shortly after, quickly provifing Grievous with his next command. "Flare Blitz!" The Lurantis wasn't intent on providing his opponent the chance to strike, charging forward. Yet as it reached its destination, Grievous made his move.

With staggering speed the blaziken lifted his flaming arms and slammed them into his target. The pain was immense, causing the Lurantis to twitch on the ground. Oscar stepped forward, a pokeball resting in his hand. "Hope this works, this one's a keeper." He threw it.

[attr="class","giada i"]you know, it's probably not the best idea to insert yourself into the middle of a dance with predacious creatures but when has she ever had good ideas? never.

and that is really how she finds herself laughing and twirling with the lurantis. they pay her no mind, truthfully, but she's having a ball. besides, those solar blades? super elegant. the way they slash through the air with glowing ease is captivating and she's hook, line, and sinker.

"hey, hey," she'll try to call their attention to her as she twirls a little closer. it falls on deaf ears but she'll keep going anyway. "can you teach me that next?"

no, they definitely can't. but, if only to try to get something out of them, she'll toss a pokeball into the mix. will they slash it apart or let it capture? either way, she spins around again and laughs at the thought.

The man has dedicated his life to dark, dragon, and fire types. Bug types was something that never really interested him. But because of his types are duel to bug, he has had some of these predacious bugs. Back before he came to hoenn, Maverick was a single dark type trainer. His first ever bug was a skorupi. It was a vicious and nasty little bug that will openly pinch or sting even him when it got in one of its moods. It wasn’t that he was against bug types. After all, he either already has or is planning on getting bugs like volcarona, centiskorch, and skorupi to evolve it into drapion later on. But lucky for him, there wasn’t much bugs in his line up of pokemon. A shiver ran down his spine, remembering that guy who caught that predacious golisopod. That things looked like it would eat anyone without a second thought.

Okay, now if there was one Pokémon he had not succeeded in finding so far—it was this one, the predacious Lurantis. While possessing a similar build to the Scyther line, it was… well, it was in a completely different class of its own.

The way it moved reminded him of how an athlete moved, lithe and swift like a master at its sport. Or was it like how a ninja moved, similar to a Scyther, adept at its own different kind of ‘sport’?

Or was there another kind of ‘sport’ that involved hide-and-seek? Wait, that was actually another sport of its own? Oh, his head was hurting the more he thought of this.

Either way, he thought he saw a green one among the crowd, but… who knew if he was going to get it? Sighing, he then wound up his arm and threw a Pokéball at the horde, wondering if one of them would stick and come with him.

Otherwise, he’d have to continue searching in Petalburg Woods for one.

their elegant movements were nothing but facades for their PREDACIOUS natures.

vicious scythes could easily tear down a prey with minimal effort. however it seemed like the newer, recently evolved and younger ones were having a struggle with trying to keep their leaves up in the air for the world to see. it was almost pitiful, she thinks, but she wasn't one to miss an opportunity. so when she sees a pokemon separating from the group, she tries to aim.

and throw it at the flowery grass type. hopefully, it wouldn't resist-- assuming she hits it in the first place.

Adrian could see it in his arcanine's posture; the head lowered and his shoulders sloped, hind legs poised to kick against the ground to lunge forward.

Predacious, as if stalking, or perhaps treading lightly. His stomach sank: What is it...?

Sirius warily lead them forward until they came to a clearing in the woods where the Fomantis were being educated by their Lurantis overseers. Adrian felt that knot of butterflies flutter out of his stomach, running a rough hand through the arcanine's fur. You don't know how much you scared me there just now... He swiped his forehead clean of the veneer of perspiration that had built up in the muggy summer forestry. Alright, then...

Nothing more to it but to catch some bugs...

Valerio would describe a lurantis and predacious was not the first thing in his mind. But he would not contest the idea—these creatures were pretty upsetting and if rumors about gigantic species of these were true, then being in their swarm was not the best idea.

Luckily, Genesis knew a couple of fire-type moves. While he was not thinking of setting ablaze Petalburg, it was better to be cautious.

He tucked his hand into his pocket and released his shiny drampa to watch the picturesque performance of the bug-types, waiting for an unlucky one to catch.

Adelaide and her Delcatty, Papaya, watch from a nearby hill as the Lurantis continue practicing their dance routines. The cat doing so with a bit more of a PREDACIOUS mindset, but knowing her trainer wouldn't approve of her playing with the frail things so not acting on it. Having been filming the phenomena on her phone, Addy tapped the camera flip button and pressed her face close to Papaya's as she documented their closeness.

"You think we could learn to dance like that some day, Paya? I bet we— oh?"

In the background was a pair of eyes peeking out at them from behind a tree. Addy had only noticed because she'd been filming herself in selfie mode. Smiling, she stopped the video and set her phone down before falling gently onto her back. Looking at the Lurantis upside-down, she smiled.

It was simply another day and another job for Igor under duty of marie jules .

Successful in capturing an Alolan Marowak in a previous swarm Sebastian was now tasked with trying to get his hands on a Lurantis or it's prevolved form Formantis. Taking advantage of the Pokemon who wandered away from the main group's parental guidance Sebastian would stroll on into the mess of things with his Zangoose Maul beside him all the while.

Be careful not to shred those pretty leaves.

Chuckling to himself Sebastian would then watch on as Maul would begin to strike out at the nearby Wild Pokemon, attempting to weaken them for capturing.

despite their beautiful appearnace these kind of pokemon were deadly and any poor soul who ran into one had better watch themselves. so of course when kazimir ran into one he was pretty much the opposite of that as he edged closer to one of them. "hey there beautiful, pretty nice arms ya got there. how much you lift?" while it was glaring daggers at him unbeknownst to it from above sat itty bitt, looking down with a predacious look in his eyes as he silently jumped down and bit down hard on the lurantis' head while kaz whipped out a pokeball to throw it at it. "talk about team work baby!"
