It's the morning of. The big day. After an extensive amount of prep, lots of packing, a few loving texts sent out, and one loving one telling a certain someone she'd be gone for New Years with the girlies, Genny was off in a cute set of boots, and a black top, heading outside of her Lilycove apartment.[break][break]

Going with her today, was a quintet of Pokemon. Rembrandt, the Rampardos snorted with the knapsack he had at the ready, the dino ready to help deliver Genny to her destination. However, in her pocket say Blue the Mudkip, the little cowardly mudfish, Gordo the shiny green Sandshrew, happy as a ball can be to go meet friends, and one of her newest arrivals courtesy of , Speedy the Shellos. The little beanie baby blinked one eye at a time, drooling and thinking of nothing... added to them, was a sleeping balled Zagreus the Arcanine. A Fire-Type to keep the girlies warm over the party.[break][break]

"Alright. Remy-" she moved aboard, happy to take a ride on the big dino who snorted happily. "-yip yip!"[break][break]

The sounds of hefty footsteps alerted all of the wilds from Lilycove, Fortress, and east of Mauville of the massive dinosaur's run...[break][break]

Genny arrives, first one to get here. The venue is just as beautiful as all of the pictures. Perfect picturesque sky, amazing landscape, a beautiful villa. Immediately, as she lets Rembrandt go to snooze, she begins to text all of the girlies in the group chat.[break][break]

Gen: Just arrived, girlies! I'll see you when you get here!

Before long, she's already digging into her knapsack. A couple of holiday gifts. Some rosé wine for them to enjoy, sweet and gotten from Galar to enjoy, with a bunch of wine glasses prepared for them, as per Genny's request. Adding to that, she lifts another of her more impulsive purchases, a stereo to play music for them while she waits... and why?[break][break]

Because Genny begins doing stretches on a soft carpet and mat provided by the venue. It was morning! She wasn't skipping out on her morning stretches, no way. Even if she wasn't indulging too much stretching today, she could at least get a light routine going here! Especially if they ate a lot this trip. She wasn't putting on any calories. So help her, she was going to look her best.[break][break]

She had a big reason to now.[break][break]

Joining her, Gordo the Sandshrew pops out of his little ball, and begins stretching. The sight adorable. Gordo took to Genny so fast, and the two were inseparable now...

GIRLIES


IT'S FINALLY TIME for a special time of year. Over the course of 2023, the Girlygang has gathered from Hoenn, a triumph of feminine friendship. Times like these, the girls are faced with the end of the year, one they can enjoy with each other.[break][break]

What better way to enjoy the Girlygang, but with a end of the year party! A fun little vacation where the girls can all enjoy spending time together, free of any and all distractions. With the idea out there... GLAMPING becomes the activity of choice.


GLAMPING


On the outskirts east of Mauville, within Route 118's forest sits a little trail that leads to a wonderous open field. has found and booked the venue for three days and nights of fun. A message sent out to the group chat, and an address given, the girls are to bring their own goods; snacks, drinks, electronics. Whatever they want to bring, they can, within reason. Changes of winter clothes, makeup, and any accessories they want, but the message inviting them recommends packing light![break][break]

What is Glamping? Glamping is short for glamorous camping, a modern luxury added into the common camping experience. This venue in particular coming with a stylish yurt with real mattresses, a beautiful view of the open Hoenn sky, lights aplenty to keep their spot lit up, lots of pillows, and some massage tables to lay on, among other general amenities.[break][break]

Come enjoy a ride on the glamorous side of camping. No Boys Allowed. You're invited![break][break]

Warm. Maybe this was part of the problem of stripping down in the winter, but he made it all better. Isaac always did. He was calm. She got calmer. Like a metronome to stir her back to happiness, to guide her way.[break][break]

Being told she wasn't alone made all the difference. And Isaac felt Genny lovingly look at him... when his hands sunk into her own, she felt her heart beating harder, her gaze hot.[break][break]

She was no longer content here. She moved up slowly. And before Isaac could say no, she took his lips again. Quieter. There's less fever in her fervor, she just wanted to feel him. A hand in his, and she feel like the world can be fought; that even if it blows up for him, that she can fight the world with him.[break][break]

With him.[break][break]

Breaking the kiss, she giggles out weakly. "How are you still single?" Only to hold his hand tighter... and she feels her cheeks heat up again. How was he... no. Now he wasn't.[break][break]

"This is the part where you ask me out."[break][break]

It's a command almost. Almost. Maybe he'd say no. But after he helped her with her back issues, blowing them out of proportions... well-[break][break]

She was hoping he would.

A Scizor, huh? She'd gifted her only Scyther to , since Genny had read about an interesting evolution. The Scyther would be happier with her girly than her, but Genny could go off her own power. She didn't need to just copy Navy with his recommendation.[break][break]

Easy question to answer at least. A nod of her head, and Genny would hear Navy's own issues. Between Nihilego, which leaves the redhead burning with resentiment, the other monsters, and the understaffed problem, she ponders it for a moment.[break][break]

"I transferred to Lilycove recently, actually. Wanted someplace new. Lease will probably be like that for awhile-" Apartments were apartments, unfortunately. With all the bad aspects. Rent, landlords, and security deposits just emptying her pocket. Lilycove too, for that matter.[break][break]

But there's a hopeful smile. "When I get through my lease, maybe I'll move down here."[break][break]

Lots of beaches... lots of fun summer times, probably swimsuits galore, and surfing. Leaves Genny with a bit of a bad taste in her mouth, but she quickly shakes it off. "It'll be good practice if I go through with it," she adds, and begins stretching. "Nihilego want to come down here, I'll take them on." A little confidence, not terribly too much. The Honedge merely floats nearby, a little closer to watch the stretching redhead.[break][break]

To go along with the stretching, Gordo and Balmung began to stretch, getting limber with their stretches, even if they were tiny. It was the equivalent of kids just working out to the videos their parents buy. "Lots of practice though. I usually go running in the morning, do a little gym workout every day before my day starts, and recently, some of my Pokemon have gotten into it," she explains, Gordo a prime example. That little Sandshrew was stretching his little heart out.[break][break]

Excitable, impressionable. Loving Pokemon. Even the Honedge would stretch their scarf...

Only knowing it briefly, it was something else. What little Genny knew about Hisui, now given more clarity. At first, the redhead wondered if Yuina were merely just a historian; a Hisui history buff. But there was something more to it. She had to be awful adoring to be sniffling like that... so Genny pondered, what it was. What was the difference?[break][break]

Not wanting to intrude, Genny is quiet, looking over everything with Yuina. Never once did she interrupt, wanting to know for her new friend.[break][break]

That's when, Yuina gave the phone back, making her way to the fence. The Galarian Rapidash were cute, a Pokemon that Genny herself wanted desperately, but upon seeing the release of Ayashi, Genny's mouth hng open.[break][break]

What she saw, was a Stantler. No, that's not right, it was a big Stantler. Gray, a tall and broad figure. The body made much stronger all around. When Delton offered to hold Blue, Genny moved to kiss the Mudkip's head, before placing her on the wing. This was an experience, and something completely new for Genny.[break][break]

Taking her hand, Genny's wide with a grin. Yuina's smile was something to cherish. "Okay!" She would move to climb on, getting behind Yuina now, the big gray and fluffy Stantler could get back up. The whole time, Blue just watched, a little panicky that her Trainer was going somewhere unknown.[break][break]

But the whole time, she looked at the Wyrdeer, petting Ayashi and grinning ear-to-ear. "I bet you could run laps around those Rapidash!" Even if she adored the fairy horse herself, this was Yuina's moment. To show her a thing or two.[break][break]

And Genny was excited.

The offer comes to her all of a sudden. Come work for a week with Paxton... spar in the morning, office lunch, and heading home. Her hazel eyes brighten. Brightening up immediately. Though her smile still seems flimsy, she could use it. It's like an internship. A little training to boot.[break][break]

"I'd like that." she starts off. Continuing to listen. It was okay to run away. This was a time of self-reflection. A time to think through all the hardships and put it into perspective. Is reaching the stars important, if to do it she has to lose her heart along the way? Is it worth it, to let herself get used to the killing, get used to the warfare, get used to the blood, and death? Does it make her stronger, to slowly prune away at a flower?[break][break]

No answer she thinks of she likes.[break][break]

"I know," she laments. She's not a failure if she turns her back on it. Accepting another tissue from Hopper, she would have pet them, given a chance. "Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a Ranger. My mom, my dad. Both of them were these great Rangers in Galar. I looked at them, and I never understood why... they always looked so sad." With downcast eyes, her reflection in the tea mirrored how they looked. The weights that kept on piling on.[break][break]

It was obvious in hindsight. "They never wanted this for me... that's why they must have given me Mr. Business," she reflects. Protection. the Darmanitian was one of the sweetest of the world.[break][break]

"..." getting up, with finishing what tea she had, she looks at Paxton, and gives him a soft, stronger smile. "Let me know when I can come in for a week. I have a lot of PTO thanks to the recent promotion. Thank you," she still looked sad. But this talk, this helping hand from Paxton did wonders.

Genny can't help but crumble in on herself. Gordo continued to push up against her, the redhead quiet, as she moves to pick the green Sandshrew up, letting him enjoy her arms for a moment.[break][break]

The way he made happy little armadillo noises has Genny's lips curve up more. "They always can, can't they? You wonder how much they truly understand." With teary eyes, she turns back to Andrea. "Name's Genevieve. Call me Genny."[break][break]

Again, a scenery shift, and Genny's eyes shift around. A festival? Lots of masks, to hide identity. Sculpted after Pokemon, some Pokeballs... it was a beautiful sight, one that Genny had never seen in her time. Sure, Alola had their festivals back home, but this was something else. Goldeen fishing, food stands, street performances... it was bringing the shine back to Genny, the one she felt lost its luster.[break][break]

"Alola never had something this beautiful before." she tucks some of her red hair behind her ear, when Andrea made a note of a small little silent child, going over, and Genny follows, letting Gordo down so he can waddle forward on his own.[break][break]

This reminds her of her mission with . But much less with a Hypno, and more happier.[break][break]

"It's okay! Your big sisters will help you!" Genny assumed the role she often did with . She liked being an older sister in that sense, so leaning down, she grins... and Gordo moves to grab the little silent child's hand. "This is Gordo. He'll help! Just let us know, okay?"[break][break]

Nothing else? They could make this silent child feel better. Even if they were lost.

Uzi had definitely struggled that last jump, but this challenge wasn't just speed. That much was evident, when the redhead would see the big S-curve that lies ahead.[break][break]

Going from first to fourth was bitter, but the race was just beginning. Things were close, and this was just the first lap. Gauging the other racers, she made the notes. The Sharpedo and Barraskewda were the fastest Pokemon here. But they shot through most of this race with ease. They had great reaction time, insane speed...[break][break]

But pacing oneself is important.[break][break]

With the big S-curve coming, it's narrow, and it's definitely the hardest part of this. But Genny is confident that her and Uzi can take it. With a head on the Vaporeon's back, she whispers.[break][break]

"Beneath the waves, like before. As much distance as you can."[break][break]

If Uzi needed it, he would dive down, as Genny holds her breath...[break][break]

The palm reading has Genny buy in almost immediately. She's not usually someone who thinks that the stars can be read upon hands, or that fortune can be determined by the vague flip of a tarot card. Maybe it's that pining feeling in her chest, that drives her so diligently forward. That burning desire in her chest. The motivation.[break][break]

Her reading boils down to keeping harmony for those around her, let intuition guide her, and watch out for her own kindness.[break][break]

Absent from innocence, the quiet smile barely comes over her lips. So many times now, her kindness has been used against her. Her EMPATHY, weaponized against her. And it burns, to be told as much. Even someone in this room, just wanted to use her empathy for their own gain. The redhead smiles, and wishes the fortune teller well, before pulling away. She knew that already.[break][break]

It's a little hypocritical, but Genny was okay with that...[break][break]

responds, asking if she wanted anything. She gets her bubbliness back, though not as big as it was when she asks her, the Councilwoman , and the big scary guy . Genny responds. "Nothing for me!" But a desire to go see and , and admittedly a guilty pleasure for herself, overruled it. "I was gonna go mingle more, but I want to say-"[break][break]

She's bright-eyed and gives Dr. Morales a wide smile. "I'm glad I finally got to meet you, Doctor! You as well, Councilwoman Morningstar! And you too! Uh..." She didn't want to intrude anymore. After all, it seemed any efforts to keep them split up wasn't going well anyways, but... Genny felt like an odd fourth wheel now.[break][break]

Deciding now, to duck out, she quietly makes her way towards , , , , and . Her hearts in her throat. Thumping harder than it had ever before. Wasn't hard to see what.[break][break]

"Melody! Navy!" Big, big smile. Eyes turning towards El, and Eris, both of which she kept running into... but knew neither of their names. At least, she didn't think? With a small wave, she has to mention it. "And I don't believe we've introduced. Name's Genny."[break][break]

"Hey." Her eyes flutter to Isaac. Didn't take a Rocket scientist or a rocket scientist to tell why.[break][break]
