Hearing his response he explained why Yuki was acting the way she was. Or so he assumed anyway. Wait guide around? The boy was blind? What were the odds that he would run into another blind person. This would be the first time meeting another blind person.

”You’re blind?” he inquired before continuing. ”I’m blind as well, going on three years. Apparently taking a baseball to head will do that for you,” he explained frowning slightly. He still didn’t really remember that day or well playing the game, the last thing he remembers of that day was agreeing to play a game of baseball. Then a few days later he’s waking up in the hospital.

The younger males voice pulled him out of his thoughts and he shook his head to clear away the thoughts. ”Nice to meet you, Hideo,” he said before calling Yuki over to him. He picked her up before allowing her to clamber onto his shoulder. ”You’re lucky you’re not real heavy or you wouldn’t be able to ride on my shoulder,” he told the alonan vulpix.

He was considering adding new items to his menu but couldn’t think of anything he could add. Perhaps some new recipe would help. As long as he could memorize a recipe or he had a copy of it In braille he would be fine. However having his aunt search some up wasn’t helping. So perhaps getting some input from another chef would help. One that would teach it to him or perhaps they could just come up with a new recipe together.

Sighing he took out his phone and called his aunt’s number. When she picked up he asked her to look up current chefs in the area and any of them if they would be interested in a collaboration. After getting confirmation he hung up and got ready for the day.

When he was done he grabbed his cane and Venus’s pokeball and headed out the door. Once outside he realized his Serperior from her pokeball and continued on his way to the restaurant. Upon reaching his destination he told Venus to stay put and guard the restaurant and headed inside.

”I wasn’t born blind but memories of people’s faces are fuzzy even though I only lost my sight three years back I’m already starting to forget what it was like to see. I guess voices is all I have to remember now so I’ve gotten good at recognizing someone’s voice,” he explained seeming a bit embarrassed about the praise. He was use to being praised on his food but being praised on other stuff about him wasn’t something he was use to, which was why he got so flustered.

He personally didn’t think either name was that hard to say and he wondered who had decided that. ”Compared to my full name your name’s easy. My friends called me Shin because they would butcher my full name,” he told the younger male as he said down. Considering the scraping of the chair had announced his presence he had his face turned towards him.

Hearing his response he nodded. Though it wasn’t like he remembered exactly what he or the other redhead had been doing at the time. ”Before I lost my sight I would often come to Nimbasa to play sports, use to be fairly good at them too,” he commended stroking Yuki when she began to nudge his hand for more attention.

Hearing his question he shook his head. ”No they’re the same. If you end up ordering soup we put it in a plastic container with a lid. They’re the cheap ones that doesn’t cost a lot of money so the customer is free to keep the container. Hmmm….there’s some Hoenn cuisine, I like making food from other regions some people not from around here can have a taste of home. If it’s something simple you want I like the bacon wrapped meat skewers though I suppose it’s more of a kabob since there’s bell peppers, onions, and small mushroom caps along the skewer.”

”Yes there’s all purpose flour, rice flour, self-rising flour, among others,” he told the younger male. Being a chef he had learned all this even if he didn’t use most of them. He just used all purpose flour. That worked well enough and gave him less to keep up with as well.

”I’m a chef that’s how I know all that stuff, I see little point in most of it though. It’s easier just to use all-purpose flour. From what you’ve said that’s what I would recommend as the name suggest it doesn’t really matter what you use that flour for,” he explained shrugging his shoulders.

While he was talking his Alonan Vulpix had gone over to Hideo’s Beheeyem and let out cry to get the other Pokémon’s attention. ”Yuki, don’t be bothering anyone,” he told the ice-type knowing she was just feeling ignored because he was paying attention to the younger male. Speaking of it suddenly occurred that he didn’t even know the younger males name.

The realization had him flushing in embarrassment. ”It seems my manners have escaped me, my names Shinobu Fujimori but Shin works as well. And as you’ve probably guessed the Pokémon with me is Yuki. The red head heard an oof and was about to ask if the person was okay when said person spoke. He could feel his face heating up at the obvious flirty remark and his early thought of seeing if the person was okay disappeared from his mind. It took a few seconds for his brain to reboot and for the rest of what the other male said to sink in.

’Wait see?’ he thought. Didn’t Aaron tell his brother I’m blind. He decided he would worry about that later. First things first he needed to confirm he was the right person. ”Yes I him, I mean yes that’s me,” flushing in embarrassment again. Jeez did he just learn how to speak yesterday? He shouldn’t be this flustered just because some guy had flirted.

Oh right there was the whole blind thing as well. From the way he acted he didn’t realize he was blind. ”Your brother didn’t tell you I was blind?’ he inquired realizing it was weird how belated he was in mentioning his blindness. In his defense he hadn’t expected to be flirted with.

Hearing his question he nodded curtly relieved to have finally recovered his composure. ”Yes, let’s go,” he said as he began to head after the guy. He had been walking when Venus suddenly moved in front of him keeping him from going forward. If she was doing that that probably meant a few Pokémon had appeared.

The voice that responded sounded familiar. But not familiar like he heard it everyday or even recently. More like he had heard it awhile back. Awhile back? Perhaps someone who had run into while living in Unova. That’s the only thing he could think of.

Hmmm….he didn’t think it was Castelia City. And the only other place that had stuck out to him was Nimbasa City. Wait Nimbasa? That was it he sure he had run into the younger male there but he couldn’t remember his name though.

I was born in Castelia though since I spent time doing the gym challenge I’ve traveled all over Unova,” he told the younger male. ”You’re from Nimbasa right? I remember your voice but I’m afraid your name escapes me. My name’s Shinobu Fujimori, all my friends back in Unova called me Shin though.”

After introducing himself or he guessed reintroducing himself he suddenly remembered why he the other red head had originally come over. ”Right takeout, if you want to get something to go all you have to do is go to the register and tell the cashier you want to place a takeout order.

”Thanks, I think?” he said his eyebrows furrowing in confusion. The first part had sounded like a compliment but he wasn’t sure about the second part. Was he insulting him? Was this one of those backhanded compliments he had heard about? Well whatever he had sounded awkward so he doubted it could be too bad. He decided not to think to much of it feeling like things were awkward enough as it was.

As the younger male spoke of his gengar he nodded. ”Venus won’t leave my side if I’m out and about all my Pokémon usually won’t either. Yuki, she’s my alonan vulpix, might get distracted and leave my side but she’s gotten better about not doing that,” he told the younger male before inquiring about his cooking skills and motioning towards the kitchen as he started to walk towards it.

Listening to what he had to say he turned towards him once they were in the kitchen. ”Seafood is can be hard to work with but most ribs take longer to make so we’ll stick with seafood. I can get a few rib recipes copied down for you though and having sent to you. However I find the best way to cook ribs is to smoke them. It might take awhile but I haven’t yet come across ribs more tender cooked any other way,” he explained to the younger male.

”I’ve found the best way to marinate fish is with white wine don’t use red wine that’s more for red meat. And don’t worry the cooking process cooks out the alcohol leaving the flavor. Some people boil the alcohol out of the wine to enhance the flavor but we won’t do that.” Getting a bottle of white wine out he put it on the counter. “Pour a cup of that,” he said handing him a measuring cup before getting a clean bowl out of the dishwasher to put the marinade in.

Once he had done that he told him to put the cup of wine in the bowl before handing him an onion. ”Thinly slice that,” he told him as he got the olive oil and soy sauce before adding two tablespoons of olive oil and one tablespoon of soy sauce to the marinade mix.

While he was doing that he got out a few lemons and started making lemon zest. This would be added into the marinade last but it was still better than waiting to do it when it was needed and having to wait for it to be added before continuing.[break] Aaron Toral

The kid if he was right from how the voice sounded thanked him. Though he wasn’t really sure why. What was he supposed to do allow the door to shut in his face? Sure he might be a bit prickly at times but he at least tried not to be a jerk. He wasn’t prickly on purpose he had always been fairly reserved so it had allowed him to become prickly at times.

”I just did what any person should do,” he said as he allowed the door to fall shut behind them. Hearing the younger boys question he tilted his head to side as he considered father or not he needed flour. He knew where it was but if he needed it he could just show him instead of trying to give directions. Because quite frankly he was horrible when it came to giving directions.

It didn’t take much thought to realize he did need flour. ”Yes I need flour as well so you can follow me. I’m terrible with giving directions, I can follow them just not give them,” he told the younger male as he made his way towards where the flour was kept.

Luckily most of the cooking ingredients were on the first floor, so he wouldn’t have to deal with using the stairs with his cane. And he was much too stubborn to use the elevator. Besides he wasn’t particularly fond of elevators, there was just something about being enclosed In a small square room he didn’t like. Especially if it was filled with other people.

The beach wasn’t really a place he had been before. Usually he was too busy with one thing or another to come. However he had decided to make his way here after work for the day meaning it was pretty late with sun around being down but it was okay.

The young man had his shoes in one hand and his cane in the other as he navigated the edge of the beach where the water lapped over the sand. He was enjoying this finding it good to do something he had never really done before to relax. His zweilous was with him keeping an eye on their surroundings.

Turning his head towards where Hades was he moved deeper into the water but didn’t go to far only allowing in to reach his ankles. He kept his cane tightly gripped in his hand as he allowed the water to continually move around his ankles.

Letting out a sigh he allowed his eyes to slide closed as he drew in the scent and sound of the ocean. Not that it matter rather or not his eyes where closed it was just nice to there with his eyes closed while he lived in the moment.

The restaurant was bustling with people and he had been cooking nonstop since they had opened their doors for the lunch crowd. One of the other cooks reminded him it was nearing his break time. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Come on he was blind not forgetful. They didn’t have to remind him every five minutes, he could just check his braille watch to know how long he had left until his break.

He knew it was because he often ignored his breaks though. He just didn’t care for sitting idle. With them reminding him so much he knew he wouldn’t get away with skipping it this time. Even if he was technically their boss, being the owner and everything. But a few of them treated him like a little kid much to his chagrin.

Hearing footsteps approaching he held up a hand to forestall the inevitable. ”I’m going, I’m going,” he said, a note of irritation in his voice. Luckily the person backed off and he let out a sigh of relief. ”Come on Yuki!” he called for his alonan vulpix grabbing his cane before making his way into the front room. Since he was on break he decided not to hang in the kitchen not wanting to get in the way. Luckily the conversations were pretty quiet so he didn’t have to worry about sensory overload.

Sitting down at an empty table he allowed Yuki to climb into his lap. Smiling slightly he stroked the alonan vulpix’s fur. However his hand stilled when he heard someone approach. Raising his head he turned his head in the direction the footsteps had come from before speaking. ”Is there something you need?” he asked assuming it was a customer who had recognized him as the owner.[break] Lucas Holden

Shinobu Fujimori, but Shin will do,” he said upon the younger introducing himself. ”And you don’t have to call me sir, it’s weird I’m only eighteen,” he told the younger male his head having turned towards him when he first spoke since he heard the direction his voice was coming from.

When he explained about his gengar he nodded. ”See that he doesn’t, I can usually get by here without much aid as long as the furniture doesn’t get rearranged,” he explained, it clear from his tone that had happened before. He had spent that day tripping over table or chair legs that hadn’t been in that spot the day before leaving frustrated until someone fixed it back.

”Leave it on one of the tables I’ll have Venus keep an eye on things,” he commented gesturing towards the Serperior. ”She won’t let anything happen, especially if I tell her to watch the restaurant. So you don’t how to worry about anything happening to your stuff,” he told the younger male.

Though he enjoyed his work it was also nice whenever he would have a day off. He at least tried to have the restaurant closed once a week so he could take a breather. It didn’t matter to him that he hadn’t worked the other day, he just needed some time for himself. Well time with him and the person he was about to meet.

He was the older brother of someone he had already met. Aaron who had given cooking lessons a few days ago, it was his brother. Somehow during the time they had spent together they had begun to talk about Pokémon. And somehow the conversation had gotten onto the fact he hadn’t caught Pokémon in the past three years since he had lost his vision. To be honest he wasn’t sure how it had gotten to this point where he was meeting the younger teenagers older brother. Or how he had agreed to catching Pokémon with him.

While lost in thought it didn’t take long to reach his destination. Since Venus wasn’t reacting he figured he was the first one here. His Serperior would’ve reacted to someone’s presence if they were here. Leaning back against his Pokémon he waited.
