Held up in the water by her Greninja's webbed hands, Desiree found herself going for yet another dive. It was becoming more and more apparent to the pinkette that the ocean was littered with treasure and trash, some that could be considered interchangeable, and an abundance of wild pokemon. It was a sight to see, but she couldn't help but wonder if this activity was advertised to get trainers to clean up the ocean rather than the task force designated to do such. Oh well, there wasn't harm in making the oceans even more beautiful- there was only love, generosity, and the ability to find some cool things in the sands.[break][break]

Diving down accompanied by Azure, she'd run her hands through the sand that found itself at the bottom of the ocean, more than ready to stop if she felt anything hard. The Greninja was soaking up this adventure; the last time they had ventured out together was a rather rough ride with Shalin's similar species, and this was much, much more peaceful.[break][break]

Another day, another dive. Embarking on the same journey she had a day prior, though this time in the morning, the pier creaked as she made it to the edge. This time she had brought Barb the Mareanie with her, a skilled ocean floor peruser; it was enrichment time for her new friend in addition to herself, and Desiree hoped nothing more than to find additional treasures in the depths. As the sun was rising, sunscreen was vital.[break][break]

The Mareanie jumped in first through the surface, but Desiree was quick to follow. Feeling the soft current on her back, it felt just as amazing as it did on the first; pink glimmering goggles in check, matching her two-piece swimsuit, the duo would embark further out than before. Just what would the sandy floor have in store for the two today? Swimming curiously, they would both keep their eyes peeled for any glimmer in the sand or a protrusion that appeared foreign to the sea.[break][break]

The Magnificent Funtasia was certainly a name that lived up to its expectations, as Desiree had not found herself in a carnival this large-scale since her childhood on a family vacation to Johto. It was exhilarating, even if she was waiting for her plus one's arrival; a wild pack of Vivillon flew above her as she'd exhibit her patience, resonating with the butterflies that formed in her stomach. Sure, she was slowly spending more and more time in Callan's presence back at the Teravolt Offices at Slateport, but they just wouldn't give her a break. Thinking back on how he made her feel was definitely a factor at play for that feeling, but she couldn't help the fact that he was just maybe the most comforting and alluring person she'd had the pleasure of meeting in Hoenn. And after that night at Purgatory that little while ago? She selfishly craved that feeling endlessly.[break][break]

Finishing a carnival treat that she had bought when she had entered the festivities a moment prior, a multi-colored dango skewer with sweet red bean paste, she'd discard the remnants in a big trash can before sitting on a ledge near the ferris wheel. Desiree was enamored by the sugary taste, ever so sweet, and hoped that Callan would feel the same when she'd give it to him a bit later; a little to-go box with a couple inside rested next to her on the ledge for him, bearing the same colors as the rice flour desert.[break][break]

It wasn't long before she saw him approaching from the horizon, smoke fluttering out of her lips in tandem with the transparent veil covering the upper parts of her face as she would stand from the ledge. "Hey, ♡" Blush would form upon her cheeks, a mix of gold, silver, and crystalline rings coating her fingers which would attempt to interlock with his accompanied by a kiss on the cheek. She'd wanted to tell him how much she'd missed being in his presence after their rendez-vous at the club, but that would be something to say much later. Who knew just how many wandering eyes and ears were here with them on the festival grounds, after all; paparazzi, rocket, Bernstein? Privacy was privacy, especially for those in the music industry.[break][break]

"How was the trip here? ♡ It's hella packed, I hope traffic wasn't a pain!" Curiosity would manifest in her mind and words, so distracted that she'd forgotten all about the dango gift. It would patiently sit on the ledge, guarded by the little flower fairy that had accompanied her on the short trip down from her treehouse apartment.

Hand extended to grace the side of Tropius' trunk as they would walk, Desiree would continue down the trail while soaking up the summer sunset to her fullest extent. A mystical aroma of sweetness soon appeared on the trail, accompanied by pink floral blossoms from the bushes- it was almost unnoticeable due to her cigarette but was definitely apparent. Curiously extending her hand outward into the bushes of fleur, the petals and their leaves felt soft to the touch, though clearly had thorns deeper into their gathering of stems.[break][break]

Further down the trail, the path split around a little quaint tree and a bench, the perfect resting spot. Lowering herself on the metal seat for two or three painted white, adorned with floral designs, the pinkette looked into the tree with fascination. Upon the branches appeared a few adorable yet sleepy Cherubi, waddling about the natural tiny wood bridges with ease and tired eyes. One of them appeared to have a strange glint about it, standing out from the rest and catching Desiree's eye due to its luster.[break][break]

Bobbing the second segment of its body with each step on the branches it would take, the demeanor of the wild pokemon and its entire species seemed extremely docile and mellow. Raising one of her safari balls in hopes to add it to the party of nature lovers, Desiree would be quick to attempt a catch on the lustrous Cherubi by tapping it with the button, soon awaiting victory or defeat. It was such an adorable little pokemon, she just had to try to bring it home; but it was even more adorable just how the species looked like cherries on a cherry tree, waddling about.

After hearing the loudspeaker announce her anticipated arrival in sector one, Desiree would begin her trek in the facility alongside Beanbean; they were both excited beyond measure, but the Arcanine couldn't stop trotting in delight for what was yet to come. Not knowing what to expect at first, as they would walk the pinkette held onto the side of his saddle, proceeding to the desired location. The signage was extra helpful in helping her find her destination, which proved to be not that far into the rest.[break][break]

Beanbean almost couldn't control himself when he saw the rival Arcanines and the others, but he knew with the help of his trainer's guidance that this was an upcoming race and not an upcoming playdate. It was precious; his tail would wag nonstop when they neared closer to the grounds, Desiree waving while holding onto his saddle to encourage him to stay in her immediate grasp, Beanbean yipping in joy. "Hi~! ♡ It's great to meet you, thanks for the warm welcome," she'd smile, twirling a strand of hair between her acrylics, ".. Mauville City is so beautiful, I'm excited to race somewhere that feels so close to Kalos! Beanbean here is pumped too- thank you for allowing us to test our bond with this opportunity ♡." Warmth in her words, Desiree would smile as each of the other racers would introduce themselves; but the star of the show was the Arcanine attempting to shake, a little trick that his trainer had taught him a long while ago. Ruffling his fur and giggling, she'd listen attentively to the rules of the track and the ways to victory. Appearing established and confident, Josh certainly was the one to beat- and she was sure that he was more than qualified for this gym and the title of one of the best riders in the region. She recalled hearing his name in many places, including from her beachside riding adventure with Shalin; just how close of friends were they?[break][break]

Climbing onto his heart-adorned saddle, Beanbean would rub his fluff of fur on the side of Desiree in response, expressing comfort. "Got it, it's gonna be so much fun~! ♡ Don't hold back, we've gotta give the audience an amazing show," Confidence boomed from under her cowboy hat of rose and white, looking to the audience for a moment while the Arcanine adjusted to his launch spot. Stroking the mane of the pupper before they would launch off, her hands would grip the reins of the saddle with a bit more of a reinforced hold than she had on the Greninja those weeks ago, ready to ride. The speed of the fire-type species was a familiar feeling for her, but not in front of an audience.[break][break]

Josh seemed like he was in his zone, which was oddly a bit comforting to any anxieties that attempted to creep into Desiree's mind; if he was comfortable, she felt like there was nothing to fear. Anticipating the green light with her grip, she'd lower down to Beanbean and begin to whisper. "Remember the treats, Beanbean~! You've got this."

A little evening perusal from her home in Fortree, Desiree found herself amidst the entrance of the safari zone. Though the sun was beginning to set on the horizon, a stroll through the rose bushes and spiraling walkways would prove the perfect outing to the end of a long day and an immeasurable enrichment to her floral loves. A hope for pink and cute wild pokemon was definitely there, safari balls in her hand for the mellow search.[break][break]

Walking beside her Tropius, which would cast even more shade upon their walk, Desiree would smoke her strawberry cigarette as they made their way down the floral path into the extension of the thicket. While this was her first visit to a safari zone in any region, this one was definitely reminiscent of the botanical gardens and their forests in Kalos; her mom was the owner of one, the upkeep queen of the gardens that all of her tattoos were based on. This was proving the perfect place to take a breath, and not just of nicotine.

The splashes of water that came out of the dunk tank felt oh-so refreshing when they'd fly, a long streak of dunks and switch-outs occurring with each victory that she'd witnessed. Desiree's turn was approaching quicker than expected, setting down her giant alcoholic slushie on a stool and holding the ball within her grasp.[break][break]

A glimmer of determination in her eyes, she'd look at the redhead sitting in the stand and smile at her before winding it up, noticing her taunts. Though she was a stranger to her, she still hoped that they wouldn't take it personally if the big baseball hit the trigger; but she seemed like the fun type, egging it on and all that.[break][break]

Fluttering in the wind with each step of hers, Desiree wears an ornate Jellicent ♂ mask made entirely of high-quality silk cloth. With each step she takes upon the sands, it flutters in the coastal winds and is perfect for staying out of the heat and protection from sunburn.[break][break]

As the species are compromised of almost all water, the pinkette made sure when creating it that the mask would be able to flow like the ocean's tide- with the help of a carnival seamstress, her commission first created a bare set of the mask, alongside a matching puffy hat and gloves. Adding small frills alongside the edges and little bulges to symbolize Jellicent's folds and mustache-like bodily formation, the set was created with quality and refinery, almost instantaneously ready to be dyed. Due to the quality, it provides just enough blockage from ultraviolet rays and flutters in the wind during the rain dance.[break][break]

Dying the mask and its corresponding fashions with homemade carnival dyes, Desiree used a mixture of aquamarine-colored flora for the bottom layer before applying the fabric paint for the white. Though she'd not yet been able to meet one of these magnificent jellies just yet, this mask would be sure to take the beach game and the carnival heat by storm, at least, in her eyes. Flowing deeper into the carnival when the mask and accessories were finished, she'd bear the puffy mustache-like silk over her face proudly. As for the eyes of Jellicent, they would be on her hat with their beautiful red and blue sclerae, looking towards the lovely festivities.

"Callan..? What just happened?" She'd peer towards the pulsation of the magenta organ in the center of the chamber, reaching behind her to perhaps intertwine her hand with the guitarist. Desiree had yet to brave the Ultra Deep Sea, and at this point, she knew nothing of the sort other than tiny rumors she had heard when passing through the Hoennian cities. One of those portals had encompassed their bodies instantaneously, a peculiar yet alluring rumor, just like that mahou shoujo show she used to watch with her sisters. It felt like a trip gone to dust, perhaps laced with fentanyl; was this even real life anymore?[break][break]

Reality soon morphed in her vision, the crystalline fragments upon the sanctum's walls shifting back and forth. "I had a vial of spore oil in my purse, but I got it from a good friend, so it can't be laced," Her eyes would meet with his for a moment before returning to the glowing center, flickering in her eyesight, ".. are you okay? I'm seeing things."[break][break]

Desiree hoped that he felt fine and perhaps knew at least a tad of what, or where, they found themselves. Finding solace in being in his company in this wretched cosmic container, a small smile crept across her face, though her eyes were filled with both fear and the hallucinogen- if Hoenn was foreign territory to her, this was the pits. The acid-bath of darkness kind of trenches. But she didn't want to play the role of the damsel in distress in this scenario one bit; if anything, she was more concerned about his well-being rather than her own.[break][break]

Wiping a bead of sweat off of her forehead, Desiree would hold his hand firmly and look around at the glimmering fluctuation of their surroundings, taking in the effects of the chamber. "I'm grateful I'm here with you and not alone ♡," she'd look at his shifting face, the shine of the magenta core casting light upon the two, ".. we've got to take this on together."
