Mauville city needed a mascot, and who better than Stormy's personal favourite Pokemon?[break][break]

No, but seriously, when the job offer came up in the newspaper, Stormy had willingly signed up to help out. Transporting goods at record speed and making sure it stayed hot, hot, hot was exactly Wadjet's forte. The Pokemon probably needed to be careful overheating it.[break][break]

Wadjet extends her wings as the pizza's are secured. They hang off of her chest at an angle so that she won't slop them around while she flies. They give her a brief pat on the shoulder and she lifts off - gently as she can - before making her way to her first of many stops for the evening. Apparently pizza was the apple of people's eye tonight.[break][break]

neither rain nor hail would stop valiant from making deliveries in these trying times. sure it wasn't the most glamorous of jobs but this bird was going to do his goddamn best to get this food where it was going. besides even with the weather trying ot fight against him he could always defog it to clear a path for himself, making him one of the most reliable of getting deliveries right on time. he wouldn't have been chosen otherwise after all, people needed to eat![break][break]

So why does Fernando choose it over anything else he has in his roster? Because it's useless to him. He's not training it. In fact, it's just lazing around, reaping all the benefits of being a Silph without putting in any of the work.

So here it is, experiencing capitalism the way it was intended to: under the duress of minimum wage and an employer that couldn't care less about one of the nameless cogs in the machine.

As soon as Katherine heard word of a local business in Mauville that required a flying pokemon for a job, she knew who'd be the right ghost for that. The newest addition to her team, a Drifblim, came to mind. The balloon-like pokemon was more than capable of delivering food across the region - and frankly, the mere prospect of flying for such a long period of time excited it.

After all, what else would one expect a Drifblim to enjoy doing? Flying was their thing.

The air inside the balloon is maintained at a proper temperature to allow an easy lift-off, and it ensures that the food it had been sent to deliver remains hot. When the ghost finally returns to their trainer's gym, it carries no notes of complaints. The customers were happy with their delivery.

Soaring through the cerulean curtain hanging over Hoenn, Staraptor sped along to deliver a pizza to a regular at ultraeats whom made every effort to skimp out on paying if an order was late.

After several painstaking minutes of flight, Staraptor began a sharp descent before landing at a townhouse, pecking at the door. The door slammed open, jarring the pokemon as a downright ruffian barged outside, seized the pizza and made several demeaning comments about the delivery. Poor Staraptor sat there in a daze without any money to show for it, and probably a negative review. What could it possibly do about it?

Staraptor hangs its head as it cuts through the sky back to Mauville, landing at the ultraeats medium-size delivery window before padding into the building with a click-clack of its clawed feet. The workers look to it hopefully, only for their faces to turn sullen at the sight of the distraught Staraptor.

...

Several days later they receive a delivery, but this time the owner has had enough, and a scheme is devised to humble their unruly patron...

Right on schedule, triple anchovy pizza arrives hot n' ready at the townhouse, the bird rapping at the door impatiently before taking off. When the door opens with that typical clamor, Staraptor lets 'em have it, sending the piping hot pizza at the ex-customer's face, stuffing their gullet with anchovies and duress. Staraptor harries them in their stupor, causing them to trip over onto the ground, splattering the contents all over their porch.

Though its chances of rehire were slim, ultraeats would never forget its contributions anytime soon.

[attr="class","illie i"]this is a waste of his time, energy, attention. and yet, he still shows up to work. still makes an appearance with an unimpressed expression. and he still, despite wanting nothing to do with this, takes the packaged food they hand him.

it's for illeana, he tells himself. it's to make her happy.

begrudgingly, he takes to the skies and delivers each package with care. and when it's time for the next one, the dragonite shows up promptly for pick up. never a minute late but always a second away from a snarl. he'll come home to his trainer later and reap the rewards of doing a good job: lots of scale scratches and attention.

and maybe that makes being nothing more than a delivery boy for these ungrateful asses worth it.

"Remember Fye: Fly Fast. Fly safe." were the last words Balder gave to his pokemon before she headed off to do her job. It sure is weird, speaking of a pokemon having a job, isn't it? Yet, it seems like this was a system becoming more and more popular nowadays. Trainers, sending their pokemons on missions/jobs, to deliver or provide assistance.[break][break]

In this particular case, Fye was to deliver food from Mauville to a specific destination. And she wasn't the only one on the mission. Maybe she knew some of them? Hard to say, they could be pokemons from anyone, and Fye held no special features to differentiate herself from another Togekiss. Thus, she decided to keep to herself, awaiting for the item she needed to deliver, as well as the instructions.[break][break]

Upon receiving everything needed, the group took flight. Some of them immediately used their moves to assist everyone else. A welcome action, to be sure. Except Psyching herself Up, Fye couldn't do much in the moment. It was only when she noticed some flyers were losing altitude or speed that she decided to assist them differently, by using Life Dew to have them recover their strengths.
