LATE SEPTEMBER — as ultra wormholes are sighted in the seas of hoenn, the region begins to be tainted by poisons, the source of which is unknown. parts of hoenn's seas darken with toxic waste, like oil spills. for this reason, head scientist, lucas lane, has entrusted volunteers with a special antidote formula that he has helped create with elite four, thomas benoit's sludge sample.[break][break][break]

a swarm of butterfree are encroaching littleroot town via route 101. their scales are gorgeous to look at from afar, but are swiftly found to be poisonous. league officials have asked for trainers, rangers, and others who are able to help, to quickly set up a net-like defense (like Billi Marsh did in the lilycove warfront!) to protect the town and to bring the butterfree for closer inspection.[break][break][break]

Stormy glances down at the shiny Galvantula, arms crossed over her chest. The Pokemon fills in an empty space among the line-up, meshing well with the rest of the spiders. It seems the League and several volunteers have organized an arsenal to combat this new threat.[break][break]

The moment the Butterfree advance, a slew of spider webs, electro webs, sticky webs and string shots manage to organize a nearly inescapable safety net. Stormy purses her lips and raises her eyebrows as she watches the Pokemon become entangled in their precarious snare, unable to hurt anyone or anything further with their poisonous, powdery wings.[break][break]

While others helped set up a proper defense Razz didn't really have pokemon who could help out in the way the league wanted. But the Ranger wasn't going to let that deter him from helping as he called out Cobalt to the wrong lines and with a flashing glow from the Keystone that was attacked to his belt Cobalt Mega-Evolved to help beat down the swarm or at least see if their numbers would go down. [break][break]

"Take them out," he ordered and then whistled which gave Cobalt all he needed as the Iron Leg Pokémon arm's welt a pale blue and it used it's appendages to strike at the Butterfree to take out as many as they could. Dwindle their numbers with multiple ICE PUNCHES before they could reach the defense force.

the ribombee flutters around, spreading its sticky web all over the streets of littleroot. they were meant to intercept the the route that the butterfree swarm were projected to take, trapping them with its adhesive properties.

as soon as the intricate handiwork of the bug-types were done, kyle grabs on his ribombee and drags it out of the scene before it could busy itself with taking things to the next level. kyle was often a believer of less is more, which suits this case as well for more reasons than one.

a trap with more layers makes it easier for the butterfree swarm to notice, as well as that it takes more time. kyle prefers the one that gives him the reason to go home sooner.

The violet-colored spider was as shy as ever, despite the fact that this is a familiar situation to them. After all, it wasn’t the first time Emma was brought by her trainer to deal with these poisoned, feral pokemon.

“Don’t worry, you don’t need to fight any of them, Emma.” Katherine instructs the arachnid with a soft, gentle tone. She didn’t want the bug-type to be any more afraid than they already were. ”We’re just here to protect the city.” A smile touched at her lips, elevating some of the fear and concern the pokemon felt.

Through the dome of water that surrounds their head, the spider shoots a steady stream of liquid - shaping a small net of sharp, water tendrils. WATER BUBBLE, Dewpider’s ability, allows for easy access to water that makes this ordeal happen so effortlessly.

The makeshift of a barrier is only used in order to deter the Butterfrees from reaching the city.

Remiel sighed. With a toss of a ball, he summoned a Shiny Spinarak he had obtained in the safari zone relatively recently. It was time now for the small bug to prove itself. And, though the prince doubted it had enough stamina to do so, he also accepted the idea that pokémon often had more to provide than others though they did. As such, he made the order: ”Spider Web. Shield the gate of Littleroot from the route.”[break][break]

With little hesitation, the spider got to work. From one end of the gate to the other, it began to form a tall and massive tapestry of web that would serve as a stationary net for the incoming swarm. Alarmed by its speed and the rate of its web-weaving, the dark-haired royal watched as the butterflies were stopped in their tracks. Or, for a few of the foolish ones, captured by the net and ensnared in its sticky hold.[break]

"Careful," Circe's warning towards another trainer is whimsical at best, her stare flickering towards her 'work' with an approving hum. Her ariados slowly drops from the trees, hanging by a single thread. Crisscrossed around the tree's thick trunks and branches are intricately woven webs, whose silky material glows in a sickly violet. A few drops of liquid seep from the thin threads, oozing onto the grass beneath and instantly turning the vibrant green a corroded black.

"Wouldn't want you to get hurt." Her statement's almost taunting despite its dismissive appearance. The TOXIC THREADS were a somewhat cruel trap for the beautiful bugs that made their way closer and closer, but an efficient one nonetheless.

"Fuckin' hell." Oscar watched with widened eyes as enormous butterfree threatened lilycove. If only his own butterfree were that size, he'd unstoppable! Or perhaps not, after all the enormous web created to impede their progress seemed to be easily stopping them in their tracks. Oscar offered his own help, if only to get a better look at these vicious insects.

Emma the ariados nimbly climbed the web, adding her own Toxic Thread to add to its size. There was another among their group using the poisonous webbing, and so Emma mostly just added onto that. The behemoth butterfree made Emma's fangs water, she would love to have a taste or two. Then again the scales falling off their wings seemed to be rather toxic, perhaps it would be safer to eat normal butterfree.
