IN OCTOBER — the aftermath of the war is spent rejuvenating the region. pokemon and trainers are hard at work, repairing natural landscapes, while clearing fields and mountains of macabre remnants. still, pools of poison remain where naganadel and poipole have fallen... until they are cleaned, poor unsuspecting wildlife may find themselves within these toxic traps, forcing them to become aggressive and hostile.[break][break][break]

at night, the glow of a shiinotic is not only beautiful, but incredibly dangerous. the spores they emit flicker like stars, causing those who bear witness to the illumination to fall asleep. however, these shiinotic have become hostile. poisoned by a spill of naganadel guts, these shiinotic have rushed into a frenzy. tonight, corral these aggressive shiinotic by using bright pokemon moves to fool their circadian rhythms, in order to relocate them from the forest.[break][break][break]

The mythical Shaymin flies overhead several times in an attempt to herd the Shinnotic away. Each lap causes the Pokemon to wade through their their copious spores. It’s pink bowtie flower continues to filter them, shedding into a darker color as the pollutant pools within the Pokemon’s body.

“Shay!”

The Shaymin takes a brief pause to inhale, sucking in as much air and moisture as it can, before expelling it with a loud, “Min!” All that pent up energy gets released in a blinding shockwave. It expands outward in all directions but does little to actually harm the Shinnotic. A mist of aerosol perspiration muddles the air with a newfound humidity, leaving the forest in a better place than how they found it.

night had set in, so dominic's cherrim had been blissfully sleeping, its petals delicately closed in on itself. releasing the pokemon from its capsule, it seemingly continued napping, apparently unaware of his presence until he nudged it with his toe.

at seeing the way its trainer jerked his head to the group of aggressive shiinotic, the cherrim resigns itself to having to do work. the pokemon blinks its eyes drearily and start half-heartedly distributing its FLOWER GIFTS.

[attr="class","spiral"]It's about time Lillian started engaging herself with League affairs once again. Being Silph's president and Fernando's associate only gives her so much pull. She arrives with her Magneton to aide rangers, in the hopes this might give her a foothold to begin seeking further influence; which she can hopefully use to help move plans along in his name.

"Zap Cannon. Shoot to blind, not wound," she commands simply, adjusting her cufflinks and straightening her skirt before looking up to supervise her pokemon's action. Its three magnetic appendages bend in towards the spot where its eyes meet and there electricity crackles into being. The energy is compressed in a tight ball, the static pulls gently at her hair even from a distance.

Used in its typical fashion Lillian has no doubts it could leave a sparking, burning hole in any of the fungus pokemon. But today isn't typical. The ball surges oddly for a moment, the concentrated energy is decompressed shortly before firing.

The ZAP CANNON goes off in a wide cone. The light is blinding, but unfocused. It's enough to push the Shiinotic back, but incapable of doing more than mildly shocking anything it truly hits.

"Good, do that again."

"gooooooooood morning shiinotics! how we doing today?!" the poison shrooms turned their feral gaze at the sight of the yelling aimed at them ready to toss their spores at it. however the sight of the torterra coming right at them was a bit imtimidating that they had to take a pause. that pause was all that kazimir needed to give the signal to his trusty turtle with a pat on the head. "ok turters, wake 'em up." with a roar the torterra shook its shell as an orb of light shot out of its small tree and flew into the sky before exploding into a bright light that enveloped the area around them and blinded the little mushrooms as they ran for some kind of shade away from the light. those that weren't fast enough were trampled under turter's feet as he made his way ready to round them up. "c'mon ya'll, a little natural light never hurt anybody!"

he may be a little bit out of the way from home, nor was he exactly who you would be the first you call in a battle emergency but, nevertheless, bryn was there to lend a hand in whatever way that he could. the lighthouse would function without him for one night, at least.

as petilil floated just out of reach of the shiinotic, she began to glow in a familiar luminous green to the pokemon below, particles of light shimmering and fluttering around her like pixie dust as the grass bulb twirled in a carefree swaying motion. thankfully they weren’t here to battle this time and, as the synthesis activated with particles that twinkled down towards the mass of enraged mushrooms in an attempt to calm or enrapture, bryn felt confident that they were putting on the desired effect. while his pokemon continued the weather researcher slowly looked about the scene while remaining close by. he was no poison expert but he wasn’t going to pass up on a chance to observe the toxic while he had the chance…

Scout the Helioptile had no experience in herding any kind of pokémon— especially such unusual fungal lifeforms as Shiinotic. But, tonight, Remiel would have him do so anyway. Thankfully, he’d managed to store plenty of sunlight in the membrane of his frill prior. Rushing to points where the black-haired royal sent him to, the Helioptile flashed this frill and used its SOLAR POWER to guide the dazed and infected Shiinotic where they belonged. By the end of it, the little reptile was feeling pretty proud of itself.[break][break]

Remiel, in the meantime, carefully gathered samples for further research later.[break]

The cold embrace of the night was comforting. As silent as tonight was, the cries of a recovering region could still be heard by those who cared to listen. The war… Changed things.

It changed the way Katherine allowed herself to look at things, the way she felt about her occupation, and most importantly, Hoenn itself.

Who’d have thought that a bunch of man-eating aliens would end up warming such a cold heart?

“Come on, Yin. Keep up.” The Solrock that hung behind until now picked up its pace, levitating in order to catch up with Mauville’s gym leader. “Focus on the light.” Despite the fact that the sun wasn’t here to shine upon them, the meteorite pokemon managed to draw some of its power - channeling it through the moon itself.

The bright light cascaded from above like a ferocious waterfall, consuming all in its illuminating path. Gradually, the same light began to move in order to direct the Shiinotic away from the forest.

Rufio and Zweihander the Doublade could be found on the scene among the others called to the task at hand.

Though Rufio felt Aerial Ace was a more effective counter measure, he had been heavily pushed towards using Solar Blade instead.

As such Zweihander would spend much of her time chaeging up before flinging herself about the air with an eerie green and white glow that would trail behind her as well as engulf her form momentarily.
