Perhaps scaring people wasn't something that Skelle was normally up to, but the Dusknoir certainly was good at it. A poor, hapless, defenseless teenager with overly big muscles and a jersey on sauntered into the house with an arm full of drinks that probably weren't legal. But those drinks would soon hit the floor as the Dusknoir suddenly popped out of nowhere, seeming to be trying to grab the drinks from them. This seemed to scare the drunken jock enough to send them scrambling.

All they had been trying to do was make sure they drank responsibly!

Chandelure could be spooky, and she was thrilled to be apart of something like this. A haunted house? Where she could be one of the main attractions? Of course that was something she'd be interested in doing![break][break]

Stormy's Pokemon takes center stage in the great room as the guests walk in. She seems to have control of the lanterns in the hallway, lighting them up with a deep ghostly blue. The moment they get too close, however, she comes to life in all of her ghostly glory, blinking the lights out and gasping in their faces, holding her candles under her face to illuminate herself in eerie light.[break][break]

Children scream and parents chuckle -- it's perfect.[break][break]

It took a bit for Malum to find his spooky rhythm. At first he popped out at people, his tentacles wiggling and his beak chomping. That mostly just made people laugh though, Malum just naturally looked silly. But then he decided to experiment a bit, hiding in the shadows while studying people. He realized he had been trying too hard, people naturally get scared if left alone and he had the power to exploit that.

With nothing happening Malum would send people of all ages running away in a panic. All he had to do was psychically tweak the chemicals in their brain, heightening their paranoia and thus enhancing their fear. The forcibly induced anxiety was very effective, and it brought Malum great delight to torment the minds of these hapless humans.

The spooky little specter that normally inhabited Gavin's phone had many-a-times startled Emma Wolfe on purpose with its poltergeist routine. Its antics went unappreciated in their household. Gavin oft threatened to disown it if it kept scaring his girlfriend, and the man himself seemed wholly indifferent to Rotom's scares.[break][break]

So, naturally, it was more than thrilled to be set upon this house of horrors and be praised for startling its guests![break][break]

A television in the livingroom lies dormant, switched off until a child passes by and screams as it roars to life with deafening static. Lights flicker, flashlights malfunction, and the radio in one bedroom switches rapidly between channels. Rotom zips through technology with glee, delighted with what it considered to be a day off.

Mauville’s gym leader had an arsenal of pokemon who were all well-equipped for this job and would have all loved to participate on her behalf. And although some of them were easily satisfied by pulling a light prank, Mismagius was not.

She reveled in the fear and torment of her victims. It was her joy— and it’s why Katherine had to send her.

After all, she didn’t want to disappoint. They had a reputation to uphold.

Phasing through walls and even the floor was not only easy but also simple. She took things a step further by manipulating their movements with her psychic powers. The light in whichever room she reached seemed to vanish, sucked into a different dimension.

And all while she continued to aimlessly float while earning herself those scared looks, the witch-like pokemon continued to cackle madly.

Unlike the ghoulish specters with their menacing features, Elgyem worked his magic behind the scenes. One unsuspecting group momentarily stopped, their progress slowed by a fallen tree trunk. Psychic abilities tugged on a hatch above their heads and within seconds Spinarak propelled themselves down with their silk.

Occasionally, he’d move further into the forest attached to the haunted house. When terrified humans rushed passed, their faces pale with fear, Elgyem would give one a gentle nudge with his psychic prowess.

It surprised the odd Pokemom to see how many people left their friends face first in the forest floor. It made for a great case study. Unfortunately, he had a job to fulfill and that didn’t include social experiments. He would have to store the information for a later date. A pity but understandable based on his knowledge of what a job required.

However, he couldn’t comprehend why the people of flesh chose this venture to begin with. If they were just going to scream (which the shrill cries from the house made his head pound) then why participate?

It was a sentiment that he would have to ponder as he roamed the outskirts of the house and nearby forest, the lights on his body reminiscent of will-o-wisps.

Kids and young adults alike enjoy the frightful scares of the season as pokemon from around the region come together to create an immersive experience. Among them is Mimikyu.

It has been following them from the start, motionless when looked upon, but remaining a steady five paces behind the group as they move through the house, an unsettling presence...

As they're rattled and perturbed by what lies deeper within the building, the Mimikyu shows alarming signs; those with a discerning eye can tell it is closing the gap, inched slightly closer with every curious peek cast over their shoulders. Its body trembles with a rising intensity, like a beast before the pounce, up until...!

All at once the curtain is pulled back to reveal an eldritch horror of untold origin. Revealing itself for all to be molested by the sight of its true form, the creature behind the veil lunges for the gathered victims, pulling them into its horrid embrace... Nobody present would ever be the same after.
