THE SEASIDE CYCLING ROAD has seen much activity within the region. Battles and war have threatened its constitution time and time again. Thankfully, thanks to the efforts of local Mauville workers, the path is a sturdy testament to Hoenn's resilience.

The TRICK HOUSE has survived The Ultra Beast War miraculously enough. However, reports of an intact machine that the Megalopolans used to open ultra wormholes have made their way to both Rocket and League intel. Although the machine can not make ultra wormholes anymore, acquisition of the machine will prove to be important for further research, for it is Megalopolan tech and not the "shiny machines" Cotillard had created.[break][break]

The next time the TRICK HOUSE is open, enter as a competing group of contestants to reach the Trick Master; however, in the middle of the competition, it is clear that the Trick Master will have become a hostage in his own game.[break][break]

OBJECTIVES

  • 🌋 At least 2 of your Pokemon must mega evolve; however, one of 's Pokemon will mega evolve accidentally thanks to the primal energy present in the area.
  • 🌋 An AVATAR power must be used at least once.
  • 🌋 must use her hacking abilities somehow, whether to unlock high-tech door (think escape room)/deactivate a puzzle/or try to retrieve data from the Megalopolan Machine.
  • 🌋 @haykov must reference/recall their experiences from the Rocket takeover of Kanto.
  • 🌋 or must save the other in some fashion.
  • 🌋 One of @sumi's Pokemon can evolve for free this event.
  • Traverse through at least THREE OF THE TRICK HOUSE'S FLOORS for while in combat or rushing toward the machine. As a group, decide which floors would be most fun to get through.
  • At least 1 trainer must be seriously injured.
  • Reference or use the Trick House's passwords at least three times.
  • Rocket must succeed in killing the Trick Master who is being held hostage by a Rocket grunt (or player character) on the last floor.
  • The Megalopolan Machine will hold a fragment of the primal rock that the League must retrieve.
  • Destroy the Megalopolan Machine purposefully or accidentally; both factions may retrieve its parts.
  • End the thread on the 5th page.

    Zac read over the newspaper clipping one more time.
    "TRICK HOUSE TREAT!" read the title. The article had caught his eye last month. A team of four skilled puzzle solvers had tested their wits against the infamous Trick House and had come out on top. Not just that, but they had won the grand prize! What was the prize? The article didn't say, and that fact alone was enough to drive Zac wild. A mysterious prize they only give out to the best puzzle solvers? It could be anything. gold, a rare Pokemon, we might even get a trophy commemorating our teamwork! The sky's the limit! With glory on his mind, Zac had gone ahead and assembled his own super team of whoever had been free on that Sunday: @sumi and . 
    Thankfully for Zac there were plenty of new rangers who didn't know that his idea of a relaxing weekend was reading articles in biology journals or helping someone move house. 
    "What's taking everyone so long?" Zac wondered out loud. He took a deep drink from his Charja-Cola and checked his watch again. "It's almost seven! The place opens at half past nine so if they don't get here soon we won't have time for our pre-warmup jog and protein bars!"
    Zac pulled out his brand new 2008 flip phone and sent an email to Kazimir.

Hope you are well this morning.

A beautiful woman approaches , dressed in a sleek outfit that resembles a cat burglars or thieves outfit, face covered by a black mask.

"Zac, did you sign up for this, too?" Come Chu-e's clearly man voice out of the woman's mouth, pulling the mask down to reveal her pretty face. She raised a brow, sighing as she looked the redhead up and down.

When Chu-e had heard various rumors about the Trick House, just entering the damned thing with his gaggle of Rockets seemed the easiest way to get inside. Win it, by cheating if needed, then make off with the machine and anything else that wasn't nailed down. This weekend was perfect, too, since it was the annual Almost-Halfway- To- October- Spooktacular event. Cops vs Robbers in a 4v4 clash.

Which explained the outfit in broad daylight but maybe not the fake boobs and miniskirt.

He had arrived early for various evil reasons involving @haykov and was now just waiting for and Leon to arrive. Taking out his phone, Chu-e pulled up his digital ticket code, typed in 'Trick Master is FABULOUS' to unlock it, then looked over the times. It still had a bit before it started, as he thought, but maybe they had changed the times? Why was Zac here so early? He had arrived for mischief.

Yui never really had something going on unless it was Athena or gym related. So when Zac ramsy finally responded to her call for a guided tour with a request to help him with the trick house first she replied. "Sure, I'd love to help out." she replied as she also sent a heart emoji, her ulterior motive was to get him to owe her a favor and on top of that being in his good graces was usually good instead of having an enemy. She showed up dressed with a white top and a long orange skirt, her red hair picked up in a pony tail and her small black purse which matched her black heeled wedges. She arrived right on time that zac sent the invitation, unaware of the fate that was laid inside for her. "Hello Mr Ramsay!" she said as she ran up to him "Thank you for inviting me, this sounds like fun!" she smiled "How come you're trying to complete the trick house challenge?" she asked him with an inquisitive tone. It was there that Yui looked strangely at a woman approaching the pair. [break][break]

Wait a second was that a woman? She heard a man's voice...what was zac into? Well it was none of her business- Wait a second this person's voice was famil- Holy fuck. Yui tried to contain the panic in her facial expression, she didn't have her mask to hide it this time but what she DID have was her old personality to rely on. Years from hiding away from the world made it easy for her to appear shy at the drop of a hat. She ducked behind zac "Hello. I'm Yui Silph..." She peeped up meekly from behind the towering giant.

    There were many things that Leon anticipated when he’d been invited to a place called the ‘Trick House’ with , however most of them were of the less-than-decent variety. Imagine his disappointment when he uncovered that not only was this some public venue for an event, but he was expected to work as well? The fact that he was instructed by the Underboss to wear a leather harness over his shirt made the misunderstanding all the more confusing, though he couldn’t help but admit he did look good wearing it. “Bellissimo, are you here already?”

    An eyebrow raised with amused curiosity when he saw what Chu-e had been wearing, alongside the fact there was some sort of red-headed giant and who Leon could only assume was their younger sister, on hair color alone. “Well, I suppose this is going to be an interesting day after all.” Leon smirked and moved to stand beside Chu-e, digging his own phone out of his pocket and looking over hastily typed notes. “What are we supposed to say, ‘The Trick Master is a genius’ or some shit?” He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest, glancing towards with the grin returning to his lips. “Leon, nice to meet you.”

Katsumi's Outfit
[attr="class","sumi2"]Katsumi wasn't so sure about this whole 'Trick House' competition thing. She didn't really consider herself that knowledgeable when it came to trivia nor did she believe she had pokémon that could make the challenges a breeze for her. Perhaps she was being a tad bit pessimistic and selling herself short, but she truly wasn't confident, not yet at least.

Still, quitter wasn't listed in her vocabulary, so she'd do her very best. She was flattered, to say the least, that she had been considered for this at all anyway. That reminded her to thank when she met up with him. Katsumi was by no means late, always leaving a little early to ensure she was on time for events and meetings.

However, as she approached the Trick House, her eyes widened at the sight before her. To say she was surprised to see the small congregation of people gathered out front would be an understatement. It almost made her second guess her timing. Had she been late after all? Surely not. Anxiety bubbled in her stomach as she picked at the sleeve of her black blouse.

Closing the distance between the other's she waited for conversations to take a lull, not wanting to be rude and interrupt. Only when there was an opportunity to do so she would clear her throat and announce herself. "Hi," she said softly, "Thanks for the invite Mr. Ramsay. I hope I don't disappoint." she said with a polite bow in his direction.

"And hello everyone," she said finally addressing the rest of the group. "I'm Katsumi" she said with a gentle smile. Her nerves were still pretty shot, she could feel it building in the pit of her stomach. But she was doing her best to keep it under control and not let it show. Today was supposed to be a fun day after all....right?

"ain't it obvious? cause its a challenge!" a voice rang out from among the crowd answering 's question. or rather above the crowd? kaz peeked his head out from the roof's edge of the building with his phone in hand, zac's message to him on display and marked as read. "what no body likes a good one now and then?" his blonde locks disappeared behind the edge before his entire being suddenly jumped down from there and he landed with just a stumble as too much weight was suddenly put on his right foot.

"y'know zac normal people just say what route they're on, i got longitude and latitude mixed up!" he cheerfully jested as he inspected the group that seemed to beat him here already. they were all quite...colorful. in black. "hey uh, zac did i miss a memo? didn't know we were doing costumes for this challenge, i would have suited up myself." it was probably too risky for pokkenger to come out in public places even if he could pass it off as stellar cosplay. the last time that happened well...zac nearly killed him.

so a repeat of that was something kazimir was trying to avoid at all costs for right now.

What was wrong with a plain old ski mask? Nothing—especially when there was literally an invitation to be obvious. She snuffed out a cigarette and pulled the wrinkled-up half of her disguise down the rest of her face. Her eyes were blue today. Her clothes were black and nondescript, as always. Simple.

Lulu had insisted on coming along. Despite the unfortunate events of their last endeavor, she’d be joining again—as well as a couple of grunts she hadn’t yet met. Rocket’s scientists had a great interest in the machine. Lulu, herself, when she’d gone missing briefly, had begun conducting her own experiments on Megalopolan materials left behind during the war. Here, there looked to be an opportunity to get her hands on a real, proven foundation for the realization of interdimensional explorative technology. Broken or not, this hunk of metal was coming home.

In all hopes that the machine would leave in one piece, she would also insist on no bombs this time—please, , Sir.

When she rounded a corner, she saw the gang: (hmm?) and his sister(?), possibly his sister’s friend—and two robbers, 200% ready for the drag show, and the afterparty. The former group surprised her more than the latter, although the Underboss was not exempt from what had become a typical side-eye of judgment for his promiscuity amongst the lower ranks.

With a light sigh which came like that of a teenager who was no longer embarrassed by their strange family in public, she then got down to business. Sort of.

“So… we’re waiting on… who are we waiting on?”

Having been distracted by the leather harness, she jumped a little as an unknown blonde man, , came down from the roof and landed right beside them. What an unnecessary entrance.

Okay, sure, nobody had forced them to join Rocket again, but still. He hadn't expected his first mission to be so soon. Maybe he should have, but Wren wasn't much for that sort of stuff- even if he had regretted it in the past.

Debating his chances was the cause of him running late; well, sort of late.

But he finally did make it, which was probably a good thing? Maybe? Even if his costume was simple- all black with a mask tucked over his face- it was better than nothing. Which is what he wanted to give; honestly, even just from twhat he had seen of the group gathered in front of him, this was going to be horrible. He doesn't know anyone here, besides Chu-e, and the last time they had met, Wren had ended up with a gun pointed to his back.

Maybe faking his death had been the better idea. Waving a hand in an almost apologetic, "sorry I'm late" gesture, they stood a small distance away. And maybe judging the rest of them, but that wasn't important.

    Contestants began to arrive, starting with a beautiful cat-burglar. She approached Zac with unusual familiarity, only to pull down her mask to reveal  ! "Ki! How ya goin mate! Yeah I signed up with a team. Don't tell me you're here to win the grand prize too!"
    Zac couldn't have been more excited. He was going to be competing against his best friend! "I brought lots of muesli bars and Charja-Cola if you want some?" he said, holding open an eco-bag stuffed with food and drink. "Gotta keep your energy up, yeah?"
    Something about Chu-e's outfit was bothering Zac. It wasn't the makeup or the fake boobs though. "Oh yeah! The Almost-Halfway-To-October-Spooktacular! So you're going as a robber?" Zac asked as he took off his jacket to reveal a full police uniform. He'd borrowed it from one of his friends in the Lavaridge police department, and the blue shirt was barely big enough. He pulled a pair of reflective sunglasses out of his bag to complete the look. 
    , , and @sumi arrived next, and Zac offered everyone the same super-charged breakfast of muesli and sports cola, making introductions where necessary. And then dropped from the roof. "Never doubted your skills for a sec mate!" Zac said to his best friend. "And don't worry, I brought spares costumes just in case." Zac offered Kaz, Yui and Sumi extra police outfits and sunglasses. As always, having a unified color theme was important for any team-based challenge. Speaking of unified colors, 's hair. It was the same shade of sunburnt red as Zac's (though much less wiry). It was no wonder they were often mistaken for brother and sister. 
    And then arrived. In a black ski mask she sure looked the part of 'robber', and Zac still wasn't sure how to feel about the woman. She had tried to shoot him in the face, but on the other hand she hadn't succeeded. And she was also friends with Ki, which in itself was a badge of trustworthiness. Zac stepped forward and offered her a bar, a can of cola, and an olive branch. "Good to see you again," Zac said. "Name's Zac. Sorry if I hurt you last time, I'm not sure what happened after that first explosion. Let's have some fun today, yeah?"
    The last of the robbers arrived, and Zac started to get excited. "Nice to meet ya mate! Name's Zac," he said, holding out a bar and a cola for @haykov. "Looks like we're all here, and as usual has all the answers. Let's head on in, yeah?"
    Inside, it looked like a normal, one-room house, complete with furniture, a dining table, and a small kitchen. Zac looked around but the place seemed to be deserted. "Uh, hello? Sorry if we're a bit early but we're here for the challenge."


-Zac greets everyone. Brought muesli bars and cola to share
-Has costumes for Kaz, Sumi and Yui
-Tries to patch things up with Lulu
-Heads into the house, but where is the Trick Master?

Chu-e ends up taking one of the bars but politely declines the Charga-Cola. If just the occasional drink of coffee could trigger a seizure if he wasn't careful, that stuff would probably kill him. He had also read online that it was very effective as a paint remover and was potentially facing a re-brand. Best to avoid it.

"Zac, your tits are going to pop out of that uniform before the day's over." Was said between bites. He decided to skip the formalities of people introducing themselves- his mind already running through the plans he had outlined before this mission even started. Plan A was a bust since was here and he hadn't been able to plant any bombs. Damn.

"Plan C, people!" He spoke, mostly to and @haykov - and , if he had read the mission report. Plan C was: Pretend this is a normal civilian activity for now. Then strike at the end. Perfect plan.

That said, he dusted the crumbs off his fingers, gave Leon a firm slap on the ass to mark his territory, then followed Zac inside.

"Well, this is underwhelming." It looked like a guy just, like, lived here. Very sadly. It would be horrible to live in a one room place as small and stinky as this was.... yet some of the things were so suspicious. Namely, the giant wall scroll hanging in the middle of the room, directly across from the door. 'Solve my puzzles three and you will find me.' was printed in bright red letters.

He sighed, walked over and just tugging it down, revealing a door. When he tried the knob, it was locked... but Chu-e was a thief at heart even if he wasn't as skilled as other people present. A wallet was pulled from the treasure trove of his fake boobs and a PokePlus Membership Card pulled out, crisp and hard plastic. He shoved it between the door frame and latch, wiggling the knob and pushing the card hard until eventually it caught. A pleased noise left him when the door opened, revealing darkness.

"Solved the puzzle!" Chu-e called out to anyone else who had came in and stepped inside.

Then he was slammed onto the floor, in another room entirely, only an overhead light to break the darkness up. The Teleport had startled him as much as it had probably startled anyone who had seen it. The room he was in was labeled 'COPS', some faded and worn rules hanging on a wall. It was a cage, metal bars on all sides, and could fit a half dozen or so people. A counter over a fuzzy TV on the wall read: "PLAYERS: 1 of 4".

"What the fuck?" Going to shake the bars he found them locked tight. Fuck.

Presumably, he would be freed when three more people were in the room. There was also probably another cell elsewhere labeled 'ROBBERS' where the other half of the gathered players would be taken to.



- Takes some of Zac's food and doesn't introduce himself, like an asshole
- Slaps Leon's ass to assert dominance before going inside
- 'Solves' the puzzle with force
- Is teleported to a holding cell until the game 'start's

Yui watched as they all appeared one by one, what a strange bunch of people..Were costumes really necessary? Her anxiety was raising bit by bit before the idea began to sound like more and more fun. She ended up putting on the shades and a cop hat and smiled a bit "Do I look the part?" she asked as she seemingly loosened up a bit when she took the soda and the bar. As everyone seemed to file into the trick house it seemed pretty normal for the most part. A traditional Hoennian house, she wondered where the trick master was though, isn't he supposed to greet people in the first room and explain the rules? How strange, oh! It seems like one of the people there found something! How lovely! She was going to approach him but suddenly the whole room went dark and they all fell with a thud

Yui panicked "HELLO?!" she asked as she couldn't see. The all too familiar light of a screen was the only thing lighting up the room. The screen red out as "Robbers" and a 1 out of 4 lit up as well. "What in the world? Trick master?! Hello?!" she shouted trying to get her attention, UGH no use. Time to grab behyeem and teleport ever-what the? Yui reached in her purse and realized all but 2 of her pokeballs were gone. She recognized them via her stickers, Her cherrim and her eevee and her ditto named gogurt were all that remained of her party. Great, her once vast options were now limited. She looked around the cage to see if anyone else was in there with her. "Have any of you done this before? I didn't realize he would be so rough with handling guests." she complained as she put away the snack bar and the cola in her purse.


 

TLDR: Yui accepts the cop gear, putting on some shades and a police officer's hat.

When she goes to approach and see what he found when she was shoved/teleported whatever the hell happened into the cage labeled Robbers.

Realizes only her Eevee and her Cherrim Ditto remain in her party.

    “Plan C?” Leon raised an eyebrow, unsure of what they were talking about for a long moment before recognition struck his memory. “Oh, right.” He was a little drunk, who could blame him for being slow? A hand raised to reject the snacks that were offered by , not really interested in taking candy from a stranger, let alone one that he was supposed to be directly opposing in this event. “No thanks, amico.” Besides, what could be more refreshing than his flask of tequila? A sharp grin spread across his lips as smacked his ass, offering the rest of them a small wink before following his lover inside the Trick House. Leon did his best to remember the faces of and @haykov as he passed, not wanting to accidentally engage in friendly fire if he could so help it.

    “Arceus, could this place look any more like a sad birthday party?” He didn’t want to think about how many of the surfaces around here would be sticky to the touch, preferring to keep his arms crossed over his chest with the others investigated. “Oh good, you solved it?” Peering in the door, it seemed to be nothing more than a closet on the inside and Chu-e was nowhere to be seen. “The fuck?” Darkness enveloped him as Leon stepped inside, suddenly thrust through reality until he was laying on the ground in the same cage as the Underboss. “I hate this already...wait.” Leon frantically searched his person and cursed under his breath, pushing himself up from the floor. “That son of a bitch stole my booze.”

    One minute the happy group of eight had been searching the house for clues, the next minute a flash as bright as 's smile had blinded Zac and he had been dropped into a barred cell.
    "Oof!" Zac said, rubbing his leg. He pulled himself up, and looked down to see that his borrowed cop shirt had lost three buttons in the fall. "First time for me too," Zac said, in response to 's wonderful question. "Yeah a bit rough, but don't worry. I brought some first aid gear in my backpa-" Zac looked around the cell. His backpack with all the medical supplies, code books, cola and friendship bracelets was gone. All that was left was his heavy bomber jacket. "Well, better than flashing everyone, ay?" Zac said, pulling on the leather jacket over his open shirt. He ran his fingers through his red hair, thinking.
    "Okay. So it looks like the first part is an escape room. We have to search the room thoroughly for clues." Zac turned quickly, finding nothing in the bare cell but feeling an unfamiliar weight in his pocket. "Huh?" He pulled out 's flask and gave it a sniff. "Tequila?...Well, good news Yui. We've got our first clue."

Spooked, was a good way to describe her at first. The fact that Zac had identified her that easily with only the knowledge that she was here with was not okay.

Never trust an olive branch. They might try to gouge your eye out with it.

Lulu stared up at the giant dressed in police uniform—and ended up only seeing herself in unnervingly reflective shades. Not being able to see his eyes, or attempt to read his intentions made her uncomfortable. He was large, and clearly insane. His offerings were turned down. “No thanks. And uh, sure. Alright.” ???

Lulu willed herself not to notice the underboss’ assault on his boytoy. When the cop costumes came out, the whole situation had finally become too embarrassing to acknowledge altogether. She put blinders on and went ahead.

As went ahead picking the lock, Lulu eyed around the room, looking for cameras. However, before her gaze could even sweep all the way across the room, there was a great blinding flash, and she, like the rest, was transported behind bars. Shit. She groaned and stood, finding herself brushing the leather of harness in tight quarters. Her forehead creased and she turned away. “Of course we have to play the bloody game. Damn…”

“Ok… I can get out of here, at least.” She eyed the numbers. “But are we all supposed to be in here?”
