What the hell was he looking at?

He had asked himself that question a lot lately. Between Ultra Beasts, and then Groudon, and now this, there was just… A lot. A lot going on here. And that black cloud looked as ominous as anything. The Ranger had been enjoying a nice snack in the city before he made his way home after an assignment when his son’s alphabet soup had apparently turned black, become much bigger and was now flying through the sky. Which was obviously concerning.

So with a piece of bread hanging from his mouth, he went to investigate. And that was when he was hit with a D. Or at least it looked like a D, in a weird font sort of way. Either way, on reflex the Ranger yeeted a Pokeball at it while trying to cover up.

As Thomas wandered through the area, he couldn't help but think to himself about what he was about to do. Was he about to form his own alphabet agency? What would it even be called?

Speaking of alphabets, the swarm of Unown caught his attention, as it had everyone else's. The trainer would hone in on one in the shape of a D. Having only heard of the species vaguely, never having seen one up close, Thomas quickly pulled out his phone, and snapped a picture of the Unown. Seeing that he still had a chance to capture it, he threw a Pokeball at the Unown, hoping luck would be on his side.

To be honest, Andres wasn’t a psychic type trainer or had any particular affinity for the little guys, but a swarm of Unown was interesting to him. Especially when he had heard that when the little guys came together, their combined psychic energy did weird shit. They looked frantic but seemed mostly docile, and he wasn’t about to disturb the weird buzzing letters. [break][break]

Chuchi sat with him, as they watched pokemon after pokemon rush by or spin around, mesmerized by the mess. “Hey Chuchi, those ones over there kinda spell dick.” He said lightly, gesturing at a partially stopped group of Unown before they dispersed. This felt like the pokemon equivalent of watching clouds or water ripple. Random but somewhat calming to witness. It was hard not to assume their alphabet had come from these pokemon, but to was still kind of weird to contemplate. “Chuchi, try to bite one that looks like an exclamation mark. I have an idea.” He instructed. The fat Eevee stood up imemdiatly, eager to pounce on the harmless pokemon. [break][break]

it was not a common fact, but in truth, jayden was multilingual. it should not have been a surprise to those who knew him, but then again, there were not many who knew him.

[break][break] but dmitri had been adamant about making sure their culture was not laid to waste, not even when immanuel had decreed it. part of that meant teaching each of his sons the alphabet of his birth. jayden remembers being tunneled up in his room, pen to paper, as he scribbled the thirty-three letters of the russian alphabet onto paper.

[break][break] as jayden stands in the middle of the swarming unknown, he finds himself taken back to that same time. even though the letters that swirl and form and glow in front of him are undoubtedly english, he can't help but think of the one memory of his father that is not already tainted by death.

the cloud of unown swarming in the middle of the city is kind of ominous. aaron tries to make out words as groups of unown float by, but he never learned how to read so this living crossword puzzle is pretty much lost on him. he feels something bump into his back and sees a question mark-shaped unown staring at him in half-lidded apathy. or maybe it's supposed to be a shower curtain hook? either way, he tosses a pokeball at the silly little alphabet pokemon.

Caroline was pretty sure that this was unlike anything she'd ever seen in her life. Like a sea of alphabet soup, a darkness swarmed through the sky with letters of all types swarming beneath the clouds. At some point, Caroline was sure they were spelling a couple swear words, but that would be ridiculous wouldn't it? And now it seemed like they were getting closer, closer... well shit, maybe she should make a run for it? However, before she can make her decision, the letter A bumps into her shoulder and she reconsiders. [break][break]

Guess she should throw a pokeball at them, or something.
