wow putting a man right on the spot huh? this is why @dhalia had to fucking die.

being dragged into some strange space wasn't something new to kazimir but it wasn't he used to as well as they came to a stop he couldn't help but stumble forward a little bit as his body felt like it still needed to move forward. it was only the sound of splashing water that managed to remind him that he shouldn't fall flat on his face and maybe drown in whatever pool of water they found themselves in. as he straightened himself up he looked over the ruins and his heart started pounding. just looking at them gave him a sense of wanting to walk inside and see what inside.

but first it was time for words of encouragement...by him...right. time to inspire confidence in the masses.

clearing his throat he gave 's booty shoulder a firm squeeze forward in front of the group to stand next to dhalia with his urshifu standing beside him as well as he tried to search for some words to say.

"well first...i'd like to thank the commissioner as well as my fellow aqua members for letting me tag along. i know i'm not an avatar like the most of you but you can count on me to keep all of you safe and back you up and i only ask that the same can be expected from you not just for me but for each other. i know we and the league itself haven't had the best few months considering all that's happened, loosing sootopolis has been a large blow and all that happened at the soiree might have everyone on edge but i'm confident that we can turn it all around! some of us are not only avatars chosen by pokemon who see something in us but also great trainers and people! still we can't forget that what makes a good trainer can apply to everyone here and that's working together as a team that can work together covering each other's weaknesses or bolstering each others strengths, so let's believe in each other and give it our all! after all..."

he points at the group with a wink and a smile,

"victory is in our pockets! now c'mon slowpokes! last one in is a rotten togepi!" he and his urshifu turned around and dove into the deeper part of the water with a jumping dive and made their way down to what they could only recognize as a possible entrance to the ruins.

He sat in his corner brushing the shiny white fur of his Zeraora's tail as the little titan finished his candy bar.

He swapped pokémon, suited up, he even checked out in that suit once or twice but only when old moneybags wasn't looking. and would distract him more than enough for that.

Still had to get Kim and his Mrs. to Cait's for wining and dining one of these nights.

He barely had time to imagine it before the walls of the antechamber slid-back pulling everyone through 'dimensions' in a way that felt more mentally processable than that Dialga business from last year.

That his mind contextualized as jarring inexplicable teleportation, this his mind contextualized as realized light-speed travel.

Stepping out into the viscous void, Dahlia rallied everyone around . Sénon turned his back to the void to listen in. He could feel those eyes on him again.



But, it was all in his head, that 'dreamspace' at the Soiree proved it; it was nothing more than a budding psychosis he needed to let go of.



But lets jump a bit ahead of the socializing; Liquid Time, amirite.

Starmie () had kept him fresh on the way down, doing most of the swimming for the both of them. He merely kicked his legs as he held on.

At the face of the shadowy split in the entryway the gambler was reminded of the last time he'd been trapped in recent memory.
Of course he had his mysterious device () he felt naked without it (another manifestation of the psychosis). A waterproof case for it might have been redundant but he wasn't reckless enough to find out.

Obsession wouldn't allow him to risk the device.

Calling back Starmie it was Limbo instead who took to his side and inspecting the umbral gash with a meager light from his device, he readied himself for any response at all.


If across the multiverse, there was only one timeline where had the influence to open this entryway, his will would bend reality itself to make that timeline, this timeline.

The suit slipped on very easily, once he got the first foot in. It hugged his body form-fittingly, taking on layers of pink pastels and inky blacks, diamond patterns and ladybug spots.

Boring.

Much too boring.

Let's try that again.

The fabric seemed to come alive with a mind of its own, much as it had with several others.

It wound around him and then split itself down to the thread, overflowing with brand new strands as it enwrapped him, his form-fit silhouette swiftly discarded as the fabric spilled outwards into a long, flowing cape, the inside of which gleamed like stars. Metallic clinks filled the air, gleaming pink brooches pinning it down to his chest.

The threads surged upwards to wrap around his head, winding tightly about his locks of hair before seemingly melting into them, painting them a familiar magenta down to the roots.

This would usually be were he panicked, yelped, cooed, complained or reacted at all, but as with everything else on that day, the young captain regarded it blankly and with little emotional substance.

Seemingly coming out from underneath the young captain's own, brand new cape, a certain Pink Goddess fluttered up to his face, before casually reaching underneath her pointy cap and popping out a spanking brand new cap, slapping it atop the young man's head.

She took a moment to lean back and frame him with her suddenly existent fingers, humming in thought at the sight before snapping her fingers in realization.

A gleaming pink gold badge melted out of the cap's fabric, completing the ensemble.

Perfect.

Tapu Lele clapped her hands in delight, before slipping back into the young man's cape, seemingly vanishing into the pink nebula within.

The young captain remained stubbornly unfazed, following commissioner shortly after.

There's a brief moment were he is not sure of what he's looking at, the black pane before them giving him absolutely nothing to go on.

His patience pays off eventually however, and he's rewarded with a scene right out of Trek Wars, the very light around them twisting and stretching like San Holo had just jumped the Millennium Enterprise into Hyper Drive.

It feels as though he's about to get hydraulic-pressed right into poketube for all of a second before he's unceremoniously dumped... somewhere.

The first thing he notices about the place is the water splashing as he lands, covering his boots up to ankle level. The next is the massive, eye catching structure before them, half buried into the water even as its crown peaks through to tower above them.

The next is the inky black that surrounds them all. His incomplete highschool physics knowledge suggests to him that they should not be able to see anything at all, given the all encompassing darkness that surrounds them.

But that is hardly the biggest mystery he's ever encountered in Hoenn, so he just ignores that for the moment.

The bulk of the Commissioners explanation is heard and memorized to the best of his ability. It ain't much, but it's an honest attempt. These dimensional pocket things sounded like something straight out of a sci-fi flick- much like everything so far. Was this what Multiverse meant...?

Probably not.

The reveal of 's new job comes as something of a surprise. Hero or not, it seemed strange to fully employ a Vigilante. Did this mean the Pokkenger was no longer breaking the law?

The commissioner had to be coming from somewhere when she made the choice, so he didn't question it much further.

And so, he gave Kazimir his driest congratulations and tipped his hat in response to the wink, stone faced the entire time.

They were sent out to explore later on, and the closer they came, the deeper it became. To his surprise, the suit did not seem to absorb the water at all- or even let itself be impeded, for that matter.

Regardless however, it soon became clear that they would be diving in. They had no idea of how deep this thing went however, and they had not been supplied with any diving equipment- specifically, no oxygen tanks.

Best to be swift, then.

The youth followed 's lead, his Golisopod propelling them forward as swiftly as it could. Oxygen was at a premium below the water's surface- it was best to be swift about things.

Their path came to an unfortunate pause before long however, blocked by a familiar sight.

In something of a rush, the youth was quick to pocket his Golisopod and release Unown.

Now... What the hell were they supposed to do here...?

The only other things he’d brought with him were that survival knife he’d carry around, along with that small-ass first-aid box he always kept on him at all times, even now. Never let that shit out of his sight.

Unfortunately it felt like the entire room was fucking folding in on him, and he did remember to bring enough of the vanilla-flavored juice so that he could continue blowing vapor clouds to hide the fact he was trying not to freak out so publicly, being so deep underground in the—

Matias’s voice shattered the quiet and he looked up—like there was this look in his eyes that momentarily betrayed the fear he was trying to quell. Shit, was it that obvious?!

“I’ll be f-fine. I think,” he muttered quietly, taking a much longer drag than normal and only looking up again when—

Alarm bells began going off in his head the moment he saw and ; what were they doing here and—

He gave both of them this warning look that clearly said, ‘talk later’ because pretty much everyone else started arriving and getting changed. It was—noticeably risky to talk so openly about things but well, they’d have more time to speak later.

And then, it was time.

The feeling of compression was—definitely something he did not want to experience ever again, because it reminded him way too much of that time in the Desert where the entire place came crashing down and he’d woken up underneath tons of rock compressing everywhere that fucking hurt and it really brought back the memories he’d tried to keep hidden but too late, too late they were all surfacing abruptly and horribly—

He doesn’t realize that his own breath is coming out in sharp, pained hisses until the feeling of being compressed into an infinitesimally small space finally releases everyone from its grip—

Words flew over his head because his brain was still locked in that panicked internal meltdown—not even the deity was talking. What was happening with the connection?

The only good thing that came out of this was he wasn’t afraid of deep water.

Out came the vanguard, the silver beast, and a few moments later his body was moving automatically. A singular knock, and a humming field of Telekinetic force surrounded him and Ro the Metagross as they descended into the deep, following those who had already made the traverse ahead underwater.

UNLOCKING THE RUINS



SENON AND DOUG ATTEMPT TO UNLOCK THE RUINS. However, it requires more thought. Less automation. And under the duress of cold brine knocking against their chests, 's Unown can only identify that its signified character is present somewhere within the puzzle's answer.

Similarly, 's Unown urges the two and everyone else nearby that touching the closed layer's "titles" will cause an Unown shape to arise. A variety of letters. Symbols. They fade in before fading out after some time has elapsed.

It is also clear, that this blocked opening was not expected by the League...

Air begins to run out of tired lungs. In their haste and rush to reach the ruins at the expense of personal engagement with others, will they meet their ends prematurely?

OOCLY, the crossword clue applies to only one of the columns or rows. Attempt to solve the crossword. Allow other characters to try "tapping" the tiles too by coordinating with each other.

Fernando glares at the message on his MYSTERIOUS DEVICE. The fact is still holds a signal adds to the enigmatic undertones of its origins.

His conversation with , , and his misadventures on Mount Chimney, highlight the interwoven connection of recent events. And Dahlia’s exposition puts the final nail on the coffin. The bed is made and only those with seeking a forlorn demise jump in head first.

“Well said,” Fernando applauds with praise as empty as the SILVER SPIRE’s open chamber. He had only half listened to ’s speech, preoccupied with his portable dictionary.

“And, in the spirit of having each other’s backs, those without an Unown dictionary should partner up with someone who does.”

He holds his MYSTERIOUS DEVICE up and out in the open for all to marvel. “The symbol of the avatar killers are the same one on the dictionaries that have been passed around. While they may not be related, precaution should be taken before diving in,” he points out as and have long disappeared underneath the surface.

He doesn't make mention of how their behavior matches the disappearance of 's Moltres.

Those who were apart of the AQUA INITIATIVE text earlier this year may remember the vague reference to Senri’s assumed killers.

Agitation and unease leave her at arms length, even from the people she cares for most. Illeana's hand brushing against hers to offer her a thankful pat prompts her to swallow her discomfort and wait before pulling her hand back.

And when Kazimir approaches, booming and exuberant in energy and personality, Stormy feels the need to shy away.

But she doesn't, because it doesn't feel like her. So she smiles, inclines her head, and says nothing when the man approaches to wrap his arm around her shoulder and pull her in close. After a pause, she realizes that Illie had spoken to her. She blinks, glancing back, and lies through her teeth.

"Yes, of course."

Though to her comment on their appearances, she says nothing, merely glances up at Kazimir and past him to his Urshifu.

Fortunately, their gathering of friendly faces and nervous excitement is short-lived. They are promptly sucked through something unpleasant and spat out on the other side. It leaves her dizzy, nauseous, disoriented, just as Dahlia explains it would.

She struggles to catch her breath, one hand on her upper thigh as she pulls herself upright. Kazimir steps forward per Dahlia's request, giving the group a rallying speech to uplift spirits. And, as incredible as his speech is, she can't help but feel dread cling to her even still.

Stormy surveys her surroundings, taking in the ancient ruins that surround them. With a small breath, she decides to wait rather than chase after those who have already begun to dive. She remains close to and both, as well as and whoever else may have chosen to wait.

Her attention snaps to Fernando's mysterious device and his instruction or suggestion to pair up with those who had one. Given she did not have one, she steps closer to him.

"I will be your partner, Fernando."

The dimensions twisted, turned, flipped and dipped before Melody managed to get her barring's and fell over immediately. "Jesus fuck that was awful. We have to do that to get back too?" she asked out loud as she gathered herself up and spotted a rather familiar site from her city. [break][break]

The ruins. [break][break]

She had thought they were lost to the massive battle that took place in Sootopolis from 's attack she had heard of. But it seems like he was tricky bastard and managed to somehow pull this off. She saw why he was the champion now. Her thoughts were interrupted by the metronome set at 90 beats per minute known as . [break][break]

Her head was left spinning by all that information she had just laid upon them so Melody for the most part stayed quiet. That was until 's speech and she realized he was now one of the Elite 4! "AHHH!" she shouted right after his speech and she dashed over to give him a big squeeze. "Congratulations Kazimir!" she had only really talked to him during their battle, but Kazimir was one of the few people who gave her a run for her money during the hoenn star tournament. [break][break]

The big booba blonde leapt into the water and melody was JUST about ready to dive in behind him but speaking up made her pause to listen to what he had to say. He made a valid point, they should be more careful and from her conversation with and . While the swords of justice COULD swim, it might be dangerous to have them dive for such a long period of time. She approached cobalion with a pokeball "Look! It's for your own safety! It's just for now while we dive." she said nudging the ball to him. [break][break]

Up until this point he never was confined to a pokeball cause he refused to but she hoped given the situation he would at least consider it. Which he apparently did, despite his face never really changing he poked the ball with his nose and allowed himself to be formally "captured" but she knew it would only be for this period of time.[break][break]

"Right then! A Pokémon better suited to help people dive! Primarina you're up!" she says tossing the pokeball out and allowing her Ace Pokémon to take center stage. Her Suit also changed to match primarina's color scheme as well. There were small triangles of pink and white with a blue mimicking primarina's hair color. "Ohhhh...wow it can keep updating too!" she said wondering if this was how kyle's suit was supposed to behave.[break][break]

"I pick  then! I dont have a dvice of my own." she said putting her hands together declaring her partner after stormy snatched up fern who had a device already "Primarina can give us all air bubbles to breath as well so line up for her to help out! Sorry if it smells like fish." she says scratching the back of her head. Primarina made a massive bubble around melody's head, the girl already used to the smell of fish and dove into the water as primarina followed behind her. [break][break]

Eventually melody caught up to and and Primarina also created a bubble of fish air also for Senon and Doug, hopefully she had shown up in the nick of time. She saw doug tapping the one in the center so Melody went for the ones to the right of doug's finger from the center to help push them in.

Putting the mysterious device back on a clip on his belt for now Sénon made sense of JD's unown. What it intended to convey to them.

Limbo gave what help it could; perhaps Quasar could find another hint.

Perhaps before his lung capacity showed just how human it was.


Putting it to the back of his mind what would happen if they didn't solve this riddle in time; his skin a dead blue rather than its vaguely melinated rosy norm.

The panels he could see more clearly when the red glare from pokémon being swapped gave them better lighting for half a second.

Quasar probed about while Sénon touched the highest/northern most panel.

Soon after, the welcoming relief of air in lungs bought himself and young JD some time. His next breaths sponsored by ; popstar, battlestar, saving-his-life-star?

This was the closest he'd been to that lavish mane of hers.

Now he owed her a steak.

So as not to waste what little oxygen they had he shot her a solemn thumbs up rather than speaking before watching the panel he'd interacted with.

After had put on his show- Kim having reserved his front row seat beforehand- He gives a huff in approval of the man’s attire.

“Not as nice as others but beauty is in the eye of the blah-blah-blah.”

Returning to Kim, the Hoopa sits into it’s envoy’s lap, finishing the last of his mini latte before forcing Kim’s from his hand.

“I think it looks stupid.” The Hoopa states proudly before downing Kim’s drink.

Kim and Hoopa remain in their psychic-made seat as their dimensions shift to a plain foreign to their own, Kim doing as little as glancing about to get an understanding of their environment. With as much as Kim had bounced around from place to place on a constant with hoops and otherwise, the queasiness that Dahlia described conjured only a light burp from the man- Kim excusing himself quietly as it was released.

And then came Kazmir’s speech, to which Kim sat through quietly, a light applause coming from him as he had finished- a clap or two sounding out before the man suddenly dove into the unknown.

Kim could only stare at those that ventured forth, a poker face taking form as they dove into the unknown-simply shrugging in response and coming to a stand with the Hoopa in his hold.

“Nothing ventured nothing gained.” He whispers to no one in particular, stepping over to nudge with a smile.

“Your sorting hat threads are hot, girl. The Moltres look suits you.”

“Think you can make some fly ass fire wings hang off the back if you Jimmy Neutron ‘think think think’ it hard enough?”

after a moment to regain his composure, matias clears his throat, sending a nod over 's way. he remembers their battle from the tournament, remembers how capable the other seems to be. kaz makes for a good addition.

as people start disappearing underwater, he looks at eva, making sure both their gears are all good to go.

"be safe down there."

a quick kiss on the cheek later, he's pulling away to call out one of his unown. he leaves a brief message for the crowd before preparing to depart himself.

"anyone who doesn't have the device can pair up with either one of us."

soon, he joins the others by the ruins, and just like he did at the star soiree, he allows his unown to guide them.

The time for pleasantries is cut short by the echo of 's voice.

Most of the explanation sails right over her head. Not only has Skyler never been one to easily embrace abstract concepts, much preferring cold practicality, she was also currently devoting most of her attention to the twisting in her stomach - doing her best not to hurl her breakfast onto the crystal clear waters.

Despite looking a bit green around the edges (she supposes interdimensional travel does that to any person), her focus is soon snagged by the science-fictionesque waterscape and the construction that breaks through its quiet, unmoving surface. The ruins are too far away for Skyler to be able to discern any features, but she lets her eyes roam hungrily nevertheless.

Anticipation builds. Fingers twitch. Exhilaration coats her tongue like the sweetest of wines, and whatever misgivings she might've had are lost to the thrill of what might lie ahead.

"Hell yeah, go Kaz!" Her voice is purposefully loud to travel over dispersed chatter, aimed at her dear friend, . The sudden exclamation is punctuated by a thumbs up and a wink, and only then does she allow herself to approach the depths.

"I'm going in." The words are meant for , though she also turns to . Her hand briefly squeezes Angelo's bicep, followed by a teasing grin that edges on a dare. "You comin'? Or am I getting all the treasure?"

While Skyler doesn't have one of the mysterious devices she's seen around, what she does have is time - and the ability to breath underwater. So when water rises upwards to engulf her, it also travels unhindered down to her lungs. 

Riding on the back of Krakentoa, Skyler quickly makes her way to the undulating veil that blocks their passage. After watching , and others, she opts to release her Unown D.

If sea sickness from diving into the water or crossing dimensions won’t cause Katherine to vomit, then ’s speech probably will. There’s enough self-pity in it to make her shudder, and enough fake positivity to make her cringe. All the makings of a good speech.

Her chuckle, although quiet, is stifled by a hand out of respect for the situation and some of the others who were in attendance, but not due to the fact it was her co-worker who was giving the speech. She couldn’t care less about that. Hell, she'd have even laughed in 's face if he dared to utter something as stupid as this.

A sly smirk remains plastered to her features, but ’s announcement is quick to erase it. The gym-leader’s positivity almost rubbed off on her at times like this. It’s enough to urge her to move on and not offer further snide comments.

It turns out interdimensional travel reminds Angelo of take-off. Albeit more intense.[break][break]

To him, the sensation is reminiscent of when acceleration and altitude rapidly rise, pressure pushing his gut back into the cockpit seat as the world roars. Wisps of cloud flying past his windows replaced instead by stars, exploding past like he’s swept up in the belly of a meteor shower. [break][break]

Perhaps that’s why, when boots splash against shallow waters crafted of stardust on a canvas of endless night, the pilot still retains a healthy hue to his skin. What mild swirl of dizziness that he takes away from the experience is endured, then blinked away. [break][break]

His attention is quickly ensnared instead by the ruin that teasingly peeks out of the waters in the distance, its otherworldly allure calling. Adventure a silent, bewitching siren song that sinks into his brain and tugs on his bones. [break][break]

Angelo spares a moment to release an obnoxiously sharp whistle, thumb and forefinger in his mouth, for . “Can't believe you sold-out on me,” although his lips are curled in jovial banter, its translation of congratulations for his friend is apparent. [break][break]

Reaching into his belt satchel, it’s when Angelo’s fingertips curl around the cool metal of his miniature diving apparatus that warmth digs into his bicep, drawing oceanic eyes up to meet a troublesome grin. He’s as drawn to the daring edge to ’s lips like he is to the ruin in the distance, craving its promised adventure, danger and reward… [break][break]

“Oh yeah? You’ll have to fight me for it, first.” Comes the chuckled response, inviting. Angelo gives her hand a brief squeeze before they take to the water. [break][break]

Although Volans takes him the majority of the way, Angelo swims the last stretch of open waters solo, joining the group as they huddle like tightly packed Wishiwashi around the ruin. [break][break]

Reaching out, he plants a firm hand on ’s shoulder.[break][break]

It’s two birds, one stone. His squeeze of wordless encouragement simultaneously allowing Angelo to slip right into the inner circle, blue eyes connecting with the familiar, inky membrane that blocks their passage… [break][break]

Releasing a sleepy Unown-! to join the rest of its kind, his calloused fingers then extend to curiously caress the markings. Bubbles escape from his gear, oxygen comfortably filling Angelo's lungs as he takes his time observing.
