There were a few times he wished he could speak human-talk…
Because
this was getting ridiculous!
Having been sent on reconnaissance, the Salamence huffed, because the very last thing he
wanted to do was to pick up the manlet that had somehow gotten separated from his human companion yet
again (strange how this happens, huh) and literally maul him for
not protecting him just a couple months ago after they dived into that whirlpool and were taken somewhere completely alien and strange.
But
no, here he was…
A few moments later he would eventually spot said manlet, and released an angry sigh.
Why.
Eventually there would be a huffy-ass Salamence returning from the direction he’d come from, hanging onto a portion of Memo’s jacket with a sanctimonious little huff before spotting his human and immediately
yeeting the manlet in his direction, like a squeaky toy.
“Wha—!” Alexei yelped as he saw something flying directly his way and heard a pissy Salamence grumble before he quickly raised his arms as he grabbed the flying shape and caught him—but almost buckled under the sudden shift in weight.
“Gabriel!” he hissed as the Salamence approached, forced to his knees before quickly recalling the angery dragon.
It was like the world had receded into that moment as he held his boyfriend close in the clearing.
“Frog, where the hell did you go?!” he asked the other, before belatedly remembering they were out here in a battlefield.
“Ah, fuck,” he hissed, mentally slapping himself and pulling out another marble and popping it to full size and watching as his Gardevoir appeared once more.
“Help,” was all he would breathe out, and the Gardevoir’s eyes glowed for a bit before dropping light-pink rings of
Healing
Pulses of energy around them both.
“Keep going,” he went on, rummaging through the other’s pocket and pulling out several Pokéballs—before spotting the one he knew was Sibella’s, and popping that one open to watch the unconscious Noivern emerge from the red beam.
“Heal her too, Tat, please?” he added, not letting go of the other man at all (haha, good luck getting him to let go at this point) before the Gardevoir’s ‘aura’ flared and she expanded the healing energies to cover the Noivern as well.
Most of his Pokémon were alright—mostly… he knew he wasn’t going to be able to use Gabriel for a while, but Ilya was another matter entirely. Just as he thought things were going to quiet down, well, everything basically went to hell in a handbasket in the span of 0.5 seconds.
The sight of a familiar head of blonde hair made him look up, and that same fury that had bubbled beneath the surface flared up once more.
“You again?” was all the time he had to say before what happened next was pretty much…
Okay, that was fucking it!Why can’t things go our way, for once?! he angrily screamed to himself as he stood up once more—never mind that he had to hoist his boyfriend’s arms around his neck to help take off some of the load as he forced himself to get up from where he’d collapsed onto the ground.
Another quick click and the Gardevoir had been recalled once he’d ascertained that the Noivern had been healed up as much as possible, before this time pulling out a particular Cherish Ball and summoning the Wandering Stormbringer once more.
He had an inkling that the Tornadus didn’t want to be disturbed, but the sight of the fucking Dialga (or the warped version of it—not that he knew what it was) meant that this was going to be bad news no matter how it was spun.
The crackling voice in his ear didn’t go by him either—he was just thankful for fucking reinforcements at this point. As the other Legendary Pokémon flew all around the League’s forces, the one that sparkled like a diamond drew his eye—he guessed it was a Fairy-type, and tilted his head in that direction.
For the djinni, this one at least, needed no words to be commanded on what to do at this point.
“Get that fucker,” he snarled, the fury simmering in his voice as he glared down the Dialga (was it? It looked strangely more equine) before the Tornadus flew forward, side-by-side with the Diancie.
A burst of galeforce winds supplemented by a multitude of razor-sharp, thin diamond ‘needles’ from the distinctly female-looking companion that flew alongside the djinni joined the fray; the
Diamond Storm combining with the
Hurricane column of air was thrown at the thing that was about to shake the entire place with a
Roar of Time.
(There was still a lingering taste of metal in his mouth, but he shoved those thoughts aside—because what was important now was to keep his Romeo safe from any kind of harm.)
Throwing most of Frog’s weight onto his left arm for a few moments, his right arm then rummaged quickly in his jacket, before pulling out something he kept palmed—another one of the strange
Tornadus feathers, before adjusting his hold on the other man and raising his right arm, the purple tip pointing outwards from where they stood before he let go of the feather.
Here’s to hoping the resulting wind would protect them from any incoming enemy projectiles or objects…
