Not having Makoto around felt strange, to little Kama - even if he sometimes had to wait in his ball or in the PC whilst Makoto was out 'at work', whenever he was out of the ball, it was usually to spend time with his trainer! The notion of going somewhere else - somewhere where Makoto wasn't right now - to help other people felt so odd... But, well, he figured it was worth it, if it meant that he did something good!

Of the group, Kama likely was the one who spent the least time actually near the shipment - but that wasn't out of any inattentiveness. Instead, he was putting his agility to work - scouting ahead on the road to make sure that there weren't any troubles to be had (be they environmental hazards, wild pokemon, or otherwise,) before returning to the group to tell them what he saw.

Cresting over a hill to return to the group, Kama adjusted his signature cowboy hat, before waving everyone over - chittering out the all-clear. Everything looked safe up ahead! He would make sure that nothing took them by surprise on the road, for everyone's sake!

It was time to scoot![break][break]

Anchovy skids along the icy ground, using his flipper feet like an odd combo between snowshoes and skates. This feels like big stakes, and he aims to be impressive. Maybe if that’s the case, he can earn more jobs and endear Lam to going out in the snow more often. Or maybe that was a bit of stretch given his trainer’s dislike for the cold.[break][break]

Which the delibird totally didn’t understand, because this weather was great! Either way, he could try![break][break]

Rather than try to carry any of the cargo, Anchovy pushes a small box of cabbages on a little sled. His own bag has been thrown up on top of the wooden box. Some snow has been gathered up in the satchel to present later, once the task is complete—just to sweeten the pot.[break][break]

Slip and sliding by, he waves a flipper wing at De-de (Locke Jamison ,) the only other delibird on the job.

Snowdrop the Frosmoth glided with a serene grace through the snow flurries and cruel winds that swept through the winter sky.[break][break]

A knapsack of various fresh produce had been tied to the back of the enormous moth Pokémon, deemed safer to transport by sky than by ground. Undeterred by physical elements that would slow other Pokémon, the Frosmoth continued on with an unbothered air, only mildly irritated by the way that the bag on its back kept shifting uncomfortably with each change in the breeze.[break][break]

All the careful dignity that had carried the goods to their destination was abruptly abandoned as the Frosmoth impatiently deposited the pack with a 'thud', bruising apples and other fruits that had otherwise been immaculately led from place to place.[break][break]

As far as Snowdrop was concerned, however, the job had been completed with style and aplomb.

The Silent Icelands were a harsh landscape filled with frigid winds, frequent blizzards, and subzero temperatures. Ares could understand why humans didn't want to visit, but to him, it was beautiful.[break][break]
The little Alolan Vulpix huffed as he hauled along a sled packed to the brim with produce, the smell of various fruits and vegetables tempting him with every step. Ares was nothing if not dutiful, however - and very competitive! - so he did not stop for even one quick taste. The humans who needed the food would surely be upset if they noticed any of it missing, and he didn't want that. But far more importantly...he didn't want to be the last one to arrive in Petalburg![break][break]
Ares liked to win. Maybe this wasn't a typical competition, but being last would still be super embarrassing. With a surge of determination, he MOONBLASTED away a large blockage of snow up ahead, clearing the path for his sled to more easily slide along. Actually, it would go faster if he were walking on ice rather than snow, wouldn't it? The slippery surface would be far more efficient. Aha! The other competitors - er, Pokémon helpers - wouldn't have thought of that, would they?[break][break]
Summoning a HAIL storm, Ares used the little pellets of frozen rain to pound away at the snow before him until everything was nice and slick. Triumphant, he began to run, and the sled began to move far more quickly. He'd be at Petalburg in no time![break][break]
Mei was going to be so pleased!

as a ranger, ollie had trained most of his pokemon to go on adventures without him. after all, the more independence they had to do work without him, the easier his job was.
