Crap. He really needed to do better about touching things in these other realms. It had bitten him in the ass in Ultra Deep Sea... here, however, Barnaby didn't immediately feel any adverse effects from touching the seal. Instead, it grinded open to reveal a chamber below.

"Spooky..." He followed Temp and Gavin down winding steps, letting Zev take up the rear this time.

Before long they entered a larger space where the beast held within bristled to life and bared it's odd, two-edged fangs. Temp knew it, apparently, which wasn't very comforting because the feline was lightning quick and hyper-aggressive.

"You two help out as well!" Barnaby barked at his Pokémon, who immediately entered the fray. Noelle's evasiveness actually increased in the SNOWSCAPE, allowing her to easily dodge an attack from the silver cat and counter with a WILL-O-WISP. TYPHLOSION wasn't as lucky; the blizzard lowered visibility, causing his FLAMETHROWER to miss by a small margin.

He's saved by his allies. Snow rains down unnaturally in the small cavern, lowering the already frigid temperature. Temp is frozen. Eyes wide as he stares down the creature intent on killing him, intent on possessing him thanks to proximity alone. The fight wages around him but he hears nothing. Sees nothing but the slinky feline who attacks with a vicious brutality.[break][break]

His chest burns.[break][break]

It's like before. When he had attacked Cillian Quinn. Only this time Temp can think for himself. Yet it is pure, unfiltered hatred that surges through him. Chien-Pao roars and pushes itself to it's feet. Temp roars back, matching the creature. It lunges forward and Temp rushes to meet it. A foolish endeavor. Man could not survive against beast alone.[break][break]

But Temp isn't alone. Cillian Quinn and BARNABY FINCH and Zev Harcourt are there. Smokestack is also at his side, the spectral Flareon darts in front of his Trainer. He takes the attack intended for his Trainer, stalling the big cat as his form fades and sizzles away into the ether.[break][break]

A talisman in hand, Temp does what he does best. He punches.[break][break]

He shoves his arm with the Cleanse Tag right down the pokemon's throat. His free hand grasps for the frozen hilt of the halved sword. It tries to bite him, draws blood, but it's whole form waver unnaturally.[break][break]

Then it explodes into a cloud of snow.[break][break]

One half of the sword drops to the ground. The other is still gripped tight in Temp's fist. Blood drips from where he holds it so tightly, the iced over hilt sharp and deadly. Temp sits there and pants, as if in some type of daze.[break][break]

Shakily, he looks at the sword in his hand. The blood that doesn't drip to the ground seems to be soaking into the blade.[break][break]

As if realizing himself, Temp drops it as if scaled. The blade and it's other half shatter like ice, vanishing into snow that blows away on the wind.[break][break]

His hearing is still ringing.[break][break]

Temp lurches over, sudden, and vomits into the snow.

The strange cat-like Pokémon exploded into snow. Abruptly, the snowstorm within the small cavern stopped as well, as if it originated from the creature. Zev watched with cold apathy as Temp spewed sickness across the ground. Let Gavin deal with that mess.[break][break]

The Rocket Beast turned to Bee. "Let's get out of here."[break][break]

He recalled two of his Pokémon, his Gengar and Cofagrigus. Between his other two Pokémon, the Illumina Chadelure and the Terastallized Mismagius, they would be able to guide the group back to the rift that served as this realm's entrance.[break][break]

Boots crunched through snow as Zev backtracked toward the seal's opening. He did not look back to see if the others followed. If they wished to stay, that was their own prerogative.[break][break]

Just like that, it was all over. And what a fantastically dramatic way to do it!

"Ha! You crazy mother–" The admin's relieved comment was abruptly cut off by Cillian Quinn's frigid tone. His words were colder than the snowstorm they'd all just experienced and sliced through the chamber like the blade that just dissipated from Tempest Quinn's hand.

Barnaby didn't need any further prompting before giving Zev Harcourt a meaningful look and turning toward the exit.

"Right. We'll wait at the entrance." He said, partly as an instruction for Zev, but mostly to let Gavin and Temp know they were good to take whatever time they needed.

In the shadows, many eyes watch. The vague outline of bloodied warriors. All cultures and ages. The stare at the two of them with malice, weapons drawn and unmoving. Hundreds of them all around them. An army of the dead.[break][break]
