a drive for vaccinations is held at the slateport hospital, with people fearing that all the trainers coming to and from the borders are bringing along with them virus from ultra space.

megalopolans eat people, so they must have rabies, right?

rumors have floated around, causing an influx of patients to flood the hospital's ward for these patients. anxiety rises and, like an echo chamber, worsens with every nervous patient they see.

it is when the hospital administration decided to bring out the big guns.

all these cute pokemon were released on the floor, each of them immediately trying to find patients to charm with as they partner up with doctors administrating these shots.

the moment a poochyena sees another child keep its eyes on it, the dark-type flashes its own back. large puppy eyes followed with a playful tail wag always does the trick, though when that doesn't work for the audience, other pokemon step up.

A LOCAL HOSPITAL needs Pokemon volunteers to help nervous patients who struggle with anxiety around needles. Hopefully, these Pokemon can distract them with their charm!

Akero whistled gently as she drifted about the room - looking at the patients gathered here. Her voice was a melodious one, the sing-song tones it had drawing the attention of a few children. Their wide eyes, awed expressions - it was plenty for the Togekiss to turn her attention towards them - and as one reached up to try and pet her. She cooed happily in response - landing and opening her wings wide, as if to offer a hug.

When embraced, Akero would gently wrap his wings around the child in turn - softly whistling to them. It was okay, see? He'd keep them safe from all the big scary things, so that they could keep smiling and being happy!

Comforting came naturally to Ankaa, she'd had plenty of practice keeping her darling Junior protected and loved, after all! Ever since he had been but an egg in their nest.

(And her fair share of keeping the little rascal in check, too. Just ask her badass babe and fellow momma, Ata!)

Enough reminiscing about her adorable family, though. She had a job to do. Lots of anxious children needed her!

With soft croons, Ankaa settles in right beside a young girl. Her thick, feathery plumage nearly swallowing the child when an anxious face buries among white down, hiding.

She makes for the perfect snuggle support buddy!

Okay, no denying that Mudkip were cute, and it really showed!

(Hell, he almost threw his Rowlet instead of his Mudkip here, but apparently there were a lot of part-Flying types already.)

Arashi had agreed to drop off one of his Pokémon for assistance in the hospital today—even if he was numb to the prospect of needles, he knew that there were people out there who couldn’t handle them like at all, and so decided to offer some help.

One of the younger kids was already bawling because of the prospect of being stabbed by a big needle, however the Mudkip was to the rescue! Running over (and tripping on her face in the process, whoops) the Water-type came skidding towards the crying kid in short order.

The entire tripping thing distracted the kid enough, who let out a guffaw of laughter that became a sympathetic look as they saw the ‘kip trip over her feet. Aww, poor thing.

Cute. Cute wasn’t often a word used to describe Aggron.

But still, the goofy steel behemoth knew how to be gentle amidst all the nervous patients. While smaller cute Pokémon ran around winning the hearts of the patients Aggron was a bit more hesitant, when it moved about.

But that was only until a young boy saw Aggron walking around.

Before long the boy was poking, prodding and playing with the Steel tail belonging to Aggron. Aggron was eager to play along, tail wagging, trying to dodge the next poke, but ‘failing’ before gently letting the kid jump on and raise the boy a bit into the air.

When it came time for the boy to be jabbed by a needle, Aggron accompanied him, even poked him with its sharp claw, convincing the boy that if he could handle that, then a needle would be no issue at all!

Of course Elinor hovered nearby, making sure her Pokémon didn’t get too eager.

They say that a Togepi's shell is filled with joy, and that when treated kindly, they share that happiness with others. And with luka chêne as his trainer, Togepi has more than enough kindness to go around.[break][break]

The baby egg Pokemon is used to being cuddled and coddled and, on occasion, used as emotional support by the vulnerable or distressed. He toddles around the waiting room at the hospital for exactly that reason, cooing up at children and adults that look in need of a little comfort.[break][break]

His adorable baby babble can bring a smile to even the most distressed of patients, but when they actually hold him? Game over. It's too adorable! He's more than happy to be passed from person to person, being gently squeezed by patients getting their shots and keeping them calm with the joy radiating from his shell.[break][break]

Though after a few hours, his eyes start to blink sleepily, and he looks ready to retreat back into his shell for a nap. He is just a baby, after all.[break][break]

Inari is small, adorable to some and just a plain distractive rat to others but whatever it is, she sure can do her job right in making the patients focus on her instead of the nurses telling them that it won't hurt.[break][break]

With a bit of a nuzzle here, some sharing of candy over there, she finds paradise in how much attention she's given whilst doctors sigh in relief at how quickly they're finally clearing their backlog. Soon enough, everything should go back to normal, right?

Cute wasn't really something Tango would categorize himself as. Part of him almost found it demeening, but when his trainer mentioned about how it was their job as Rangers to help out others the Charcadet deemed it as a worthy enough job to use its 'charm' on. The little fire pokemon seeming to try and talk to the fearful patients as if it could understand him just fine. Just to see the human's response of looking confused which seemed to annoy the fire lad. [break][break]

But they wanted to show the now Head Ranger that they were a worthy pokemon to partner with. So it still tries to entertain, thinking back to how he first met his trainer as it uses the flame on his head to create little mini fire balls to amuse and entertain the people as doctors had to come in and give their needles. Though as the docs used it against the little humans Tango seemed to understand just why they were scared of it.
