Domon never really got out much from his Pokeball or training spot back home so when Kaz let him have some sort of freedom he got a bit bored easily. Or perhaps it was easier to say that he was directionless after a while. With nothing really interesting him the Urshifu was pointed towards some jobs he could do by his Trainer. It was something to occupy his time so he figured he might as well do one. He didn't quite imagine that it would entail helping old people.

With his body bulking up he managed to pop the lid off the jam jar and it earned him a bit of applause from the elders that were watching him. They had never seen a Pokemon like him before and the attention was a new experience to the fighter. It almost made him blush but luckily he managed to head back into the pantry to help some more but to also escape the crowd.

Bufo the Poliwrath lumbered around, flexing his arms to show off for the older adult humans living in the care facility. “Poliwrath!” he bellowed, stalking around like a predator, like a wrestling champion. He would make these jars submit to his undeniable strength!

He grunted, trying to pry open the lid of a strawberry jam jar. The humans were counting on him to enhance the taste and aroma of their breakfast muffins! And maybe they would let him have one, too, if he succeeded. He would have to be as strong as an Ultra Beast to get some of these jammy jars open!

With a great tug and a twist, Bufo the Poliwrath used the power of Submission to get the jar lid to yield. The fresh fragrance of sugary strawberries filled the air. Bellowing again with pride, he raised the jar above his head with both hands, allowing many a butterknife to dip inside and spread its fruity bounty upon countless scones, muffins, and bagels. All in all, a job well done. He hoped his trainer would be proud of him.

It seemed like such an odd job, but if it was being asked of anyone who could help, then why not? Yuina sent Iono off for the job that jars needed to be opened, they were quite tough to work with and they needed to have them opened for the elderly that lived in the home.[break]
The fire type was given a small crate of jars that looked as if they just hadn't been touched, the lids to the jars just wouldn't budge in the slightest, and he lifted one up in his paw to inspect it. He tested the waters first, he definitely didn't want to break anything if he could avoid it, so he took the top of the jar and tapped it on the edge of the crate before trying to twist. Nothing.[break][break]
Iono huffed, grasping the jar a little tighter he tapped it again with a little more ferver, hitting it against the edge of the crate he'd been given. He brought the lid up and grasped it in his other hand and put more muscle into it. He was afraid that he was grasping it too tight, that if he squeezed a little bit more to keep his grip on it that he was going to crush it entirely, but with one final twist, there was an audible pop and the lid came undone.[break]
The monkey smiled to himself, pleased with his work, and he gently placed the lid on top of the jar and set it off to the side. He couldn't promise that every single one of these jars would come out in one piece, but he set to work on picking up his next jar to work through his batch.

It had been a little while since Josh's "starter Pokemon", the Blaziken called Vulcan, had been in action. Newer blood had taken the stage as of late, but in this instance, the old hand had been brought out to help out. But the Blaziken hadn't... Really imagined that its' triumphant return would be to... Help out old people.

So here it was. A longtime veteran of battling and rangers work. A Blaziken that had lived through its home being savaged by a virus that turned the Pokemon around it into mindless beasts that needed to be put down lest the rest contract it if they even survived. Being experimented on as a Torchic in hopes of developing a vaccine for the virus, and being used in deadly combat time and time again. First for survival, then as the partner of a ranger. For the last decade, Vulcan's life had been filled with fighting.

And now it was opening jars for the elderly. Which seemed mundane at first, but when it saw the applause for the large bear nearby, that competitive spirit began to arise...

It could open those jars so much better. They will see.

After the victory over the fighting type gym and winning the gym badge for his trainer, the infernape was expecting him to be treated more as a rhigher ranking members of the team. Although Maverick did acknowledged him for his well earn badge and even catered to him to a feast, Sovar wasn’t expecting this as his next mission. In fact when Sovar was told that he was needed for a job that only he can do, the infernape was thinking it would be a super tough challenge much like that gym battle. However upon arriving at said location, one could only imagine the disappoint on his face when asked to open a pickle jar for some smelly old man who was way too cranky to be asking him for favors.[break][break]

“Well… go on…. Open it you damn ape.”[break][break]

The infernape raised a brow at the cranky old man, fist tightened in an attempt old control the amount of disrespect this human was giving him. After all, he was a gym champion.[break][break]

“Are you slow or something? Come on… you are to open it.”[break][break]

Taking in a deep breath to calm his nerve, Sovar snatched the jab from the old man that kept wiggling it in front of him. One hand firmly holding the glass far, Sovar gripped the top lid and began to twist. And after a few seconds of struggle, a crisp popped sounded and the lid came right off.[break][break]

“Give me that you damn ape.”[break][break]

The human snatched the jar from his hands, casting him a mean looking sneer before shaking walking away with his pickles. Sovar’s nostrils flared, only to be approached by another older human. This time, a lady.[break][break]

“Excuse me strong infernape. Could you please open this for me? I really want to have some jelly on my sandwich.”[break][break]

At least this lady was nice about it.

Monferno hung from the ceiling fan above the dining area, his restless eyes darting from table to table as the tragic scene of the elderly unable to open their jam jars unfolded before him. His fellow pokemon flexed their power as jar lids open with a satisfying pops around the room, but his heart still broke for those awaiting their turn at salvation. Although the future was always uncertain, he knew that he and his comrades would prevail.[break][break]

His eyes darted to one lonely table in the corner where a quiet couple struggled valiantly but unsuccessfully to open their jar. Monferno leapt from the fan to the wall, running quickly over the vertical surface until he reached the corner where he knew his work must be done. Leaping from the wall in a flash, his mach punch struck the lid of the jar at just the right angle for the force to send it spinning upward and off the jar. Monferno smiled as he sailed through the air and tumbled out into the hallway too fast for the couple to even react. Heroes don't need thanks, he thought to himself as he walked away proudly.

Diamond was initially afraid when he was called upon by Ambrose to perform a solo job. However, once he realized he would just be opening jars, his fear morphed into offense. This was all his master could think of to utilize his strength? Ha, child's play. Diamond scoffed as the first jar was presented to him, haughtily setting his log down to grasp it with both hands.

He looked away with an exasperated leer as he turned the jar's lid. It was a paltry amount of effort, which was probably why the lid refused to budge. Looking to the jar now, Diamond would exert a bit more force. The lid stood firm. Diamond glared at the jar, as if the inanimate container had personally called him a wimp. His muscles bulged as he employed even more strength, still failing to open the jar.

Diamond's short fused burst as he found himself winded by his latest attempt. He clasped the jar from both ends, yelling out as he unleashed all of his power upon his nemesis (Superpower). The jar exploded, leaving just a jam-covered bottom while the rest was now covering Diamond's face. Diamond put the broken jar on the nearest table, confidently picking his log back up and strutting away--as if he had just performed the best possible job he could.

What A Pickle

Boring. What kind of challenge were these jars supposed to be? There were ants with more fighting spirit than these glass weaklings. She'd rather be sitting around doing nothing than be here wasting her strength on this chore.[break][break]

Kommo-o beat her chest like a Belly Drum before setting to work, as if the performance would help declare her indignation. If she was going to have to fight something as meaningless as this, she might as well do all she could to crush it utterly.[break][break]

…Crush in a metaphorical sense, at least. This prey just needed its head twisting off, in order to get to its soft, bloody, edible innards.[break][break]

The pop of the lid was accompanied by the clinking of scales, like castanets, or rain beating down on a window. It was a spectacle beyond what this job was deserving of, but how could she help it if she was just naturally musical and strong and incredible?
