For as difficult as it had all turned out to be, Yuina was at least landing a few tricks here and there... And wasn't looking too bad in practice. She had a very low confidence level of trying anything more advanced than the Primarina Twist, after watching Doug struggle to perform the highest difficulty they had been demonstrated by the instructors... If only she could work with Daikenki, maybe then she would stand a chance.[break][break]
In any case, the next wave was coming through, and Yuina wanted to keep practicing. This was all a new experience, and she was having a fun time, though she couldn't imagine how sore and bruised she was going to end up after all was said and done.

He had taken a short break from faceplanting on the ocean floor to get some piñas coladas from the beach shack nearby. As he approached his girlfriend near the waves, riding atop his mantine, he held out one of the drinks.

"How's that tally lookin'?" He asked casually, hopping from his mantine to hers and taking a seat besides her, head propped lazily against her shoulder. "Shit, you're already at 5000?"

Oh, he would try the magikarp splash again in a bit. It would not escape him this time... Surely.

Having watched Zachary on the Mantime-- Hermes was following them on the waves-- trying to mimick the moves he does. Hermes was happy to try and rache his trainer-- but was clearly faster than the Mantine. As Zachary landed the second trip, Zachary was growing more and more confident. One of the many wonders of summer time that she hadn't had the forethought to try last year, Yuina looked to the drink Doug held out for her as he settled beside her on her Mantine. Taking a sip, smiling to herself at how good it tasted, she glanced to Doug who rested against her shoulder.[break][break]
"My couple of 'piddly twists' aren't looking too bad right about now, huh," Yuina mused, shifting her drink between her hands as it was much colder than how warm the beach sun had been thus far.[break][break]
"I might be winning, but I think you should get your own special prize for such a valiant effort at the most difficult trick," she smiled, leaning in, a soft peck to his temple.[break]
"That is, if- you can land just one Magikarp Splash," she finished, both daunting and encouraging at the same time. She was acknowledging his incorrigible efforts, and maybe with a little extra incentive, he might keep going, and she left him to that as she took on her next wave with a knowing smile.
