Emma grunts as her shoulders strain, the metal squealing as she pours herself into lifting the sword. Some scrawny ranger had pulled it, surely her nearly pure mechanical frame would be capable of such a feat. She was way stronger than that guy, she could break him in half in an instant.[break][break]

another day another go at the sword. seeing that therapist stormy recommended was already working wonders. now kaz didn't feel like stabbing rocks with metal objects in order to try and make a makeshift version of this thing on his own. the therapist did say he should probably stay away from it however, but the prize it offered was just something that was too tantalizing. how could anyone pass that up?

why was it so against her having this honedge?

each visit to this place only made katherine feel more and more frustrated. she was like an angry child who couldn't beat a particular boss fight in a game they've been playing for a long time. annoying. ..annoying and unfair. but then again, much like a child, she's unable to turn away from another chance at completing this quest. no. she was far too stubborn to give up.

It was fortunate, then, that she’d taught herself the best way to chase away that doubt – wild and reckless innovation! She made her way back to the sword, held it in both hands, but before she pulled she stomped on the rock. Her animation for Rock Slide spawned boulders into the sky above, raining down on the observers. Most would run to dodge, some would be caught, and a select few would be forced to flinch. All would be pissed, but that mattered little to Annie. The sword would almost certainly kill her before they did…

And in the slight chance that Rock Slide slid the sword out of its place, she could handle the commoners after.

"This is getting old.", Rikiya muttered, as he waited his turn in line again. Now that he knew what the reward was for getting the blade, kingship, Rikiya had to wonder if the next person to pull the blade would get kingship, or if the souls absorbed had anything to do with the reward. But in any case, the reward of kingship was pretty sweet, and seeing it go to a notorious griefer would piss people off, which is what he lived for. He was going to get a crown by the end of this, he would vow to himself.

As it was his turn, Rikiya attempted to pull the blade from the stone.

FERNANDO SILPH had said something about how he tried pulling the sword a different way every time. That he was positive there was a strategy or trick to unsheathing the weapon. She had, at the time, been skeptical, she was positive it was just a trick. That no one would pull the sword or that it was based on pure luck.[break][break]

And yet.. the guy had done it. He had pulled the sword and been granted powers. So clearly, maybe, he had been on the right track. So here she was, going to start pulling the sword in different ways every time - she would do it.
