Recently there's been rumors of an extravagant and unique item embedded within a stone. Players are welcome to try and pull it, but failure means death. Fortunately for them, they have infinite lives unlike the poor non-playable characters within the game. Should he try his own luck?

The sound of his feet can be heard throughout the square as he trots forward. Each step is like a rubber ball bouncing against the concrete. As he looks around, everything around him is larger than him... fitting considering his actual shape. He can hear the laughter around him - people snorting away as they look at his avatar's figure. Little do they know just how dangerous he can be.

Taking up his chances, he jumps upwards, latching onto the handle of the Honedge. He's too short to actually try to pull it out but it doesn't matter. Grabbing hold of the blade with his non-existent fingers, he hops, bouncing upwards as he tries to release the blade from its rocky cage. Can he succeed?

This 'legendary' sword in the stone... as he walked up to take his turn at seizing it, the armored knight sighed. He couldn't help but feel slightly like a fool. It all felt like some sort of bad theme park attraction, really. And it had more of an effect on him when he considered that most of it was from Galarian legends and fairytales.

Regardless, he would not pass up the free chance for a supposedly amazing in-game reward. He wished to continue doing this experiment, and to do so he needed the proper equipment and abilities to reach the higher echelons of its power scale. If he perished after gripping its weathered handle, as he most likely would, then he would simply respawn. There were no true consequences to this action. There was nothing to prove.

He reminded himself of this as he ascended the steps into the church, stopped before the blade, and wrapped the fingers of one gauntlet around it. Here goes nothing.

Someone not far ahead of him gets close. Real close. Orion swears he can see the sword budge, and he thinks he's about to bear witness to the first player (at least, to his knowledge) who actually beats the odds...![break][break]

But they're swallowed up by a ghostly aura and reduced to a spirit.[break][break]

Several others step up to the task afterward, and Orion swears he recognizes Adrian Malcolm among them. He doesn't get the chance to comfirm before he, too, is obliterated by the Honedge. Brutal.[break][break]

"Yeah, not letting this shit go.", Rikiya muttered to himself, as he lined up for another horrible death.

Rikyia looked at the line ahead of him, people filing over to try to free the Honedge from its stone prison. But alas, every single attempt had ended in horrific failure, people being killed. He had to wonder if the souls the Honedge had gathered were feeding into something grander. That instead of the promised power, some sort of crazy event would take place, should the spectral blade be freed of its stone prison.

Still, Rikiya took his turn, pulling at the trapped blade, expecting another death by soul sucking.
