forcing herself not to get mad at the game anymore seemed more and more like a bother, at this point.

rng was clearly not on her side, and this sword... this damned sword... would it ever be pulled out by katherine? would the pink-haired mage ever claim her own kingdom, like she imagined herself doing? more and more of them were being chosen-- and soon, not many will be left. the feeling of doubt lingered in her mind just as her hands set upon the hilt of the honedge.

At this point, Rikiya was in the area just to taunt those who were still in pursuit of the sword, those who were in his kingdom. He had been the second player to get the sword, before the requirements to pull it were eased. After that, one player had managed to pull the sword. Still, he managed to get it under the hardest conditions, and he was not a n00b with a skinny wiener.

Now he had to come up with ways to fuck with everyone queued to pull the sword.

he already managed to get kingship, but somehow, the option to pull it remains. perhaps it was habit that he still returns in an attempt to pull it out for the twenty-first time.

kyle walks up to the sword and stares at it. multiple players have also tried and failed the rng roll, and he's about to do it twice in a row. his hand holds the hilt of the sword, watching the ribbon wrap around his arm.

"here goes," he mutters to himself, hyping him up before he readies himself to reappear at the spawn.

his hand grips the handle of the sword before he attempts to pull it out.

"I had hoped someone would pull out the sword again soon ... I guess that was wishful thinking on my part," The demon had said, witnessing more people trying to pull the sword out of the stone, only for them to die as a result of their failure. He was kind of hoping that either one of those female mages would pull out the sword, so that he could fight them on equal power, or perhaps Selena who had defeated him in a one-on-one battle and killed him. He knew that if she were to claim the sword, she would definitely be a worthy opponent to fight. He knew he could easily take her down in a fight now that he had claimed the sword's power, however he wanted to fight with equal footing. It would not be fun if he were easily kill her in a fight. he pinched the pommel of the sword with his two fingers and nudged it gently. then he tried to swirl it around in place, hoping he could sort of loosen it by chipping away at either the sword or the stone from the inside. it probably wasn't going to work considering this was all fake. weirder things have happened however, like how his many logged attempts at this game had probably been leaked with the recent news about data gathering from this game. actually he should probably secure his own computer instead of doing this. well if karma was gonna be out to get him then it was taking a long time.

How long since I last logged online...?

Too long; the experience bar at the bottom of his interface was branded in a highlighted color, showing an accumulation of rested experience from being offline for an extended period. He'd have to wrangle Piper into playing with him to have a proper excuse for wasting more time on the game.

Needless to say he prepared for the daily ritual of sacrificing himself to the Honedge in the stone. It seemed surprised to see him, or perhaps he was imagining it. Would he get lucky? Probably not.

Hands to the hilt, Adrian heaved with vain desperation, hoping to find purchase in the stone.

Stormy had taken to testing her theories in the real world, encouraging her own Aegislash to resist her with all of its might. Of course, she wasn't concerned she might die in the real world because her Aegislash wasn't an asshole. Even still, she had managed to pull her own sword from a stone - unless Aegislash was being fake and letting her win.[break][break]

Regardless, it gave the mage newfound encouragement to keep trying. So, for the twenty-first or twenty-second time(she lost count), she begins to pull at the hilt of the Honedge.

The sword slips and suddenly it's dragging on the ground and she's breathless because she'd been holding her breath. The sword is heavy in her hands and she lifts it, wiping hair from her face as she turns to face the crowd. Then the crown settles on her head and it looks fabulous and she feels stronger and energized with pride. She'd done it. She'd finally done it.[break][break]

The game prompts her to choose a kingdom to claim and she eagerly chooses IGNIS, likely to no one's surprise. The kingdom of lava and bedrock is too much of a comfort to her.[break][break]

And then, to top it off, Stormy begins to raise the sword over her head and "WOOOOOO!"

Last time it was one day, now it was two.

Oh, Arceus, why was he skipping on the days? Could anyone blame him if he had suddenly gotten busy with real-life stuff to deal with in Fortree, and only managed to pull away from all the crap just now?

Coming in from a long evening vigil since he had to watch over some Flying-types that were in a delicate condition, he finally slipped on the VR goggles and found himself outside Valora, right where the damned thing was taunting him.

Unsurprised to see accumulated EXP from the time he was away, he flicks the precursory windows away and heads over to where the stone is. Rumor has it there was a queen that was crowned now.

Whoops.

Was it his fault he was scrambling, looking for food to eat during the past few weeks? He had gotten so busy squirreling away some food to keep during these trying times, he had all but forgotten about the virtual reality thing itself.

Well, time to get back into it, right? Right?

After logging in, he looked around—and found himself in Valora. Wondering how many people had been crowned now, he sighed, before walking up in time to see a character explode into pixelated death.

Okay, so in her case being a mother took up too much of her time, what with the twins wanting to figure out what “virtual reality” was and asking so many questions about it.

She wondered if Josh had managed to get way from the Inquisitive Duo in order to log into the game.

Unsurprised to see a lot of EXP points in her bar for not logging in, she flicked the pop-up away and warped to Valora, wondering if it was a good idea to try her luck against the sword in the rock. Rumor had it there was a female character who had managed to pull the sword out, but other than that…

Well, time to try again, right?
