if Celia Auclair was looking for a room, she would find herself in luck. mila alexopoulos had found herself in the upper district of slateport city, doing some last minute christmas and holiday shopping. she still had to send some gifts to all her contacts in the league to thank them for a lovely year - hey, what was the point of turning over a new slate if she didn't brown-nose just a little? the woman was walking through the streets of slateport, shopping bags in hand, and a phone in her other. she was im'ing the studio's new assistant about all the things that they needed to prepare for, now that the new year was almost upon them, for the fashion walk that was going to happen in less than a month. part of what mila had bought that day was to prepare for that. the other bags... well, that was for her.

as the woman walked, she pondered if maybe it was time for her to get a pokemon to carry her things. of course, she could've asked vinny - who walking right beside her - but he had no interest in it, and probably would've dropped one of the bags or worse - let it drag along the ground. she nearly shuddered at the thought.

[break][break] pocketing her phone, mila looked up just in time to spot a woman - a beautiful woman - sitting on a bench, taking a long sip of her coffee like it was whisky instead of caffeine. hey - mila was never one to turn down an invitation for a person in help - well at least, not pretty, beautiful women who looked well-dressed enough to be clients at their studio. 

[break][break] she smiled brilliantly as she approached, with a bit of a smirk. "you sure you don't have moonshine in that cup?" she laughed, friendly and carefree. her eyes were a bit softer now. "you look like you've had a long day."

almost immediately after she heard the resonating click of the pokeball, mila released it. the snom appeared in her hand, looking startled, but mila cooed at it softly. "aren't you the cutest christmas present ever?" she had never been one to celebrate the holidays — it was more michel's thing. after all, their family had never really been one for celebrations. regardless, mila lifted the snom in the palm of her hand and offered him to vincenzo who had trotted over to come and sniff it.

[break][break] the sight of the other, much larger pokemon, sent the snom scurrying into mila's jacket, hiding somewhere in the crevices of her patterned hoodie. mila didn't mind. unlike some other girls, she wasn't squeamish around bugs.

[break][break] she patted vickey on the head too, trotting over to mickey who was looking disgruntled and annoyed at having been left alone for so long. she huffed. "you're such a baby." she leaned down, unhooked the carriage from him and pulled the straps off him. the camerupt shook himself, as if it was a huge relief having been freed from his harness, and mila huffed at his dramatics.

[break][break] "better?" she asked.

[break][break] the camerupt gave enough snort, turned, and then opened his maw to release yet another burst of flame at the wooden carriage. it immediately erupted before them, and mila threw up a hand to brace herself for the scorching heat. it was only a matter of time before the carriage set on fire, eventually slowing to a small sizzle as it lapped at the surrounding snow and ice.

[break][break] michelangelo looked up at her, giving another snort. it was as if he seemed to say - 'yes. now, it's better.'

[break][break] she couldn't help but roll her eyes. honestly. he could be such a drama queen sometimes. so caught up in their banter, the party didn't notice the darumaka dancing along several yards away. it was all fine - mila wouldn't have been interested anyway.

the habitat's manufactured winter air sends another chill through mila as she pulled up her hands and blows into her gloved hands, watching the puff of cold air that emanates. she huffs, "its sooo cold," she pouts. "mickey, can't you do anything about it?" the heavy dual fire and ground pokemon gives a grunt, stomping against the ground. a spiral of heat curls from his maw as he sends a restrained flame burst into the icy landscape, the residual heat from it warming mila almost immediately. still, its shocking and she squeaks with alarm as the flame sphere smashes into a faraway snow pile and disintegrates almost immediately on contact.

[break][break] a pile of snom and swinub appear from inside the white smog, the latter pigs looking somewhat charred and burnt. mila is quick to hop off her carriage and hurriedly walk over to the disaster. she clicks her tongue in disapproval. "mickey!" she scolds. "you couldn't have been more gentle?"

[break][break] the remaining snom are turned on their backs, fainted or otherwise useless, but in the center of it mila spots one in particular who's body is glistening with ice scales, turning it an almost rainbow hue. "oooh," mila says, eyes round and full of interest, and she picks up the pokemon, who is apparently still alive. a soft click at it's shimmering scales are all that's needed to attempt her first capture.

"giddy-up," mila said in a flat tone, only laughing a little bit, lollipop in her mouth, hands wrapped around michelangelo's harness.

[break][break] the woman sat on top of a mini wooden carriage, which was attached with leather ropes to the camperupt that was slowly - and grumpily - making his way across the path. for once, it appeared mickey decided to accompany mila on her adventures. though perhaps decided was putting it lightly. it wasn't like he'd had any choice in the matter. once mila had decided something, she was going to do it, and no one - not even her pokemon - were going to convince her otherwise.

[break][break] at the very least, vincenzo was not sitting with mila. the alolan ninetales had considered it — whether it was out of nostalgia of how he used to spend his early days with mila, sitting in her lap while she stole a ride atop her grandfather's ponyta, or out of simple vengence towards his rival was unclear. either way, the alolan ninetales had opted for scouting the way ahead.

[break][break] the cold broke through her coat and with a shiver, mila tucked her fingers underneath her jacket. she dropped the reins in her lap - they were mostly for aesthetics anyway, since mickey could have burned them easily if he was really upset. she looked out at the cold landscape, wondering where all the pokemon were.

[break][break] she yawned.

tongue peeking out the corner of her mouth, laying on her back, one of her legs folded over a knee, mila alexopoulos sits in her apartment in mauville, not that many miles away. just in case, mila had taken to adjusting her location limit to over 50 miles — because who was going to tell her that she couldn't take a train ride to meet a cute girl? mila didn't discriminate. plus, she was a free spirit. no one could tell her what to do.

[break][break] the woman was currently engaging in her favorite past-time, which was swiping through her dating apps. honestly, it was like a video game. swipe left, swipe right. it was pretty mindless. even as mindless as flappy bird. "ooh," mila suddenly says, sitting upright. she folds her legs beneath her like a pretzel as she zooms in on a picture of Alethea Ivanova . she was cute. no. she was hot.

[break][break] mila was interested.

[break][break] even more interested when, upon swiping right, the little congratulations, you have a match! notification popped up. as it turned out, this alethea thought she was cute too. mila leaned forward, cheek in her palm, as she tapped away at the screen expertly.

[break][break] she writes, 'If you were a vegetable, you’d be a ‘cute-cumber.’' she adds a cute winking emoji and cute cucumber gif for extra effect. hitting send, she looks back at her ninetales who is lounging on the foot of the bed, giving her a look.

[break][break] mila pouts. "what, vickey, you don't like puns?"
