Barnaby, goading him into recklessness? Yep, that was exactly what he was doing. But it didn't appear to work on the ranger. Instead, he offered a friendly wave and the middle finger. [break][break]

"Don't make promises you don't plan to keep." The admin warned, his tone oddly pleasant given the circumstances. As he spoke, a hand slipped into a pocket on his outer thigh.[break][break]

Suddenly, a flash of metal whizzed past Jack's face and embedded itself in a crack in the stone wall behind him. [break][break]

A throwing knife, courtesy of Admin Bee. It was a warning that even though their Pokémon separated them, there were still avenues he could take to subdue the ranger.[break][break]

The hurtling of the knife was perfectly timed with his CAMERUPT's EARTH POWER. If it hit, its power would be dampened by the MAGENEZONE's LIGHT SCREEN. Still, given the the Pokémon's immense weakness to Ground-type moves, the damage would be substantial.

Though the Electric Terrain didn't do much to Barnaby's CAMERUPT, it did nullify the effects of the bovine's YAWN. How irritating.[break][break]

Still, they had the type advantage here. There was no rush to move in; CAMERUPT did not operate in that manner. She was a stalwart wall, meant to keep her opponents at bay. The MAGNEZONE would need to come to them if it wanted a way through to the great, ice-covered door behind BARNABY FINCH.[break][break]

A low whistle signaled his instruction. The Eruption Pokémon squared up in response, FOCUSING her ENERGY for a future attack.[break][break]

"How's that shoulder holding up?" The ROCKET admin asked in the meantime, clearly amused by the rematch.

Melting steel and agonized roars faded into the background as the pair of ROCKETs blasted off into the sky above. The STEELIX and AGGRON had no means to follow, let alone the drive — they were half-dead now, thanks to Kouji's IRON JUGULIS.[break][break]

"Not bad, Matsubara!" He yelled out over the roaring wind. The man was young, but not ineffectual. His grit here was impressive.[break][break]

Hearing the grunt's taunting question, BARNABY FINCH smiled behind his mask and urged his BRAVIARY onward with a swat to the shoulder. If it was a race Kouji wanted, then Barnaby was more than happy to take up the challenge. The sooner they got to their destination the better, anyway.[break][break]

"That's my line." He goaded back, his Pokémon's wings beating furiously to take the lead.[break][break]

"I'll make it worth your while if you manage to get to the outpost first!" Something to sweeten the pot. Competition always tasted better when rewards were involved.

There was no dodging the SYGNA SUIT-enhanced DRAIN PUNCH. The best BARNABY FINCH could do was shift so that the brunt of the force was focused on his left outer arm, which was reinforced by a layer of light armor.[break][break]

Still, the blow hit like a freight train and caused an immense amount of pain to shoot up his shoulder and through the rest of his body. It was enough to send the ROCKET admin stumbling back across the ship's platform, too, though he did not fall to his knees, despite feeling suddenly fatigued. [break][break]

It was a similar lethargy to the sensation he'd experienced with GALARIAN MOLTRES. Less so, but still disturbingly comparable.[break][break]

Enough to tip the scales, even. There was no point staying here and tempting fate — not when Barnaby lacked an equivalent means of offense like Navy's SYGNA SUIT.[break][break]

Backup would be there momentarily to finish the job he'd started, anyway.[break][break]

"You might want to get that wound looked at soon, Navidson. I doubt there's much time before you bleed out internally."[break][break]

And that was where BARNABY FINCH left Navy.[break][break]

Raising his good arm, palm open, SHAYMIN swooped down and he grabbed hold of its leg. Though the Legendary Pokémon looked small, it was incredibly strong for its size. In moments the two were in the air and retreating to a nearby ROCKET outpost.

Barnaby had been the sole witness to the same ritual involving Elisabeth Fiorelli and WO-CHIEN. The way that demon had hunted her... it was no mere coincidence. Where howard slayte saw an invasive menace, Barnaby saw potential. He was starting to understand that these Tera Crystals held inside them more than just the capacity to make Pokémon Terastallize.[break][break]

If this power could be harnessed, its potential was near limitless. To manifest flesh and bone from nothing...[break][break]

Another anomaly among the many already in Hoenn. Would this one be their downfall, or their salvation? The DRK Triad was watching, after all. [break][break]

"Mmm. As soon as they appeared, they flew toward the cave entrance and out into Hoenn." Breaking through a wall of Tera Crystals in the process.[break][break]

"One did eye me funny as it was leaving, though." Barnaby left out the tidbit about MOLTRES draining him of his vitality with just a simple glance. He wasn't sure why, exactly. Perhaps because it had been a rare moment of vulnerability for him?[break][break]

"They've been spotted around the region since, but don't linger anywhere for long. It's been difficult to pin down their location."[break][break]

To his question about others' knowledge of their existence, the admin replied, "...I'm not sure. I do wonder, though..."[break][break]

They'd battled the confines of a tight submarine to finally get to the depths of the ocean, where the Seafloor Cavern awaited. Here, in one of the deepest caves in Hoenn, TERA CRYSTALS had burst forth in some of the greatest numbers anywhere in the region.[break][break]

Atop Mt. Chimney's peak and close to its caldera, BARNABY FINCH angled the screen of one of his game cameras so that mint frost could assess the image it portrayed. [break][break]

There was no mistaking the magenta flames and dark feathers that composed GALARIAN MOLTRES — here, in mid-flight above the rim of the volcano. The picture was crisp and unblurry, as if the Legendary Bird had remained hovering for a considerable amount of time.[break][break]

Why? Was it searching for something? [break][break]

Its resurrected cousin, perhaps?[break][break]

Whatever the case, it wasn't here now. And looking through the rest of the data would show it hadn't returned to Mt. Chimney since its initial visit.
