When they emerge in a cave of brilliant tera crystals, they find themselves caught between two towering behemoths. Koraidon battles Koraidon. Already, this fight is played out. There’s nothing to be done, and Navy knows the creature before him can fall.[break][break]
So, he takes a step back, urging their own Koraidon forward. It steps up, looking expectantly to Genny.[break][break]
“Stage three: use this guy to beat that guy. Simple, right? Show me what you’ve got. You wanna evolve? Well, come on, then. Time to get some experience under your belt.”

When sleep takes him, he expects more strange dreams. Fate does not choose this moment to surprise him. A hazy mind wanders through a neon fog, only to, in the end, arrive on a street corner. This city is the city of the future. Night is held at bay by artificial lights. Sprawling highways snake up and down, sprawling in every direction. A man could lose himself here.[break][break]
Only when he fails to move does he take notice of how sharp his mind feels, lost in this dream. Navy flexes his mental muscles and finds, for the first time in weeks, that he feels like himself. Reaching down, he tries to pull himself up. There is no strength in his arms. Fatigue keeps him down.[break][break]
The dream casts him in the role of a voyeur. Navy cannot stand. Those around him pass him by. Sometimes, he sees familiar faces. Many are the faces of the living, but he swears he sees unfamiliar dead faces in the crowd. Questions are asked. Most folk start walking faster. Some kick him while he’s down.[break][break]
Eventually, after talks with Eris Halla and Andrea Vaneau, he closes his eyes. This too will pass. It is not worth getting upset over.[break][break]
He waits, hopes, and plans.

The expression written across the faces of Kyle’s Mightyena swarm is one he knows well. When Sootopolis was taken, that was him. Every knock on the door, every phone call was hope. Every unexpected face or voice was a disappointment.[break][break]
