Elaina had been quite the busy woman this week. She didn't mind it though. It kept her focused on her work, which was pretty much was the only thing important to her at the moment. She was sitting in the fly taxi car that was being lifted by a set of skarmory. Her destination was Mosdeep City, which was the first time she had ever been there. According to the reports she read at the office, there was a Team Rocket base within the city and she was the one tasked to shut it down. Out of all of the assignments that she had so far, this one was the biggest assignment yet, and despite not being a Law Enforcement Officer, she was able to take it on, which honestly surprised her. Just as the taxi had reached the beach of the city while overhead of it, she quickly said to the driver with a smile. "Well, this here is my stop! No need to descend," she said which prompted the driver to look back, seeing that she opened the taxi car door and fell downward, which more than likely scared the crap out of him. As she was falling, she took out Ira's Pokeball and threw it as she descended straight downward. It was then that she had been gently grabbed by the Annihilape just before he crashed onto the sandy shores of the beach on its own two feet, not even phased. She then hopped out of Ira's arms, picked up Ira's Pokeball, and said, "Alright, let's get going."

As luck would have it, it turns out the headquarters was right there at the beach or well, underneath it to be exact. The entrance to this supposed rocket lab could be entered through the small shack which was right in view, however, that wasn't what made Elaina stop to examine the place. It was the state of it rather. There were unconscious bodies - presumably people aligned with Team rocket sprawled about inside as well out of the shack; the front door completely destroyed. "Did someone beat me to the punch? No that couldn't be ... I was the only one assigned to this ... I would have known whether or not I had a partner involved," she said sternly, her face scrunching into a serious look. "We better check it out, Ira. Whoever did this could still be here ..." She said to her Annihilape who gave her a nod. Elaina and Annihilape had then begun to make their descent down into the underground lab. At this rate, she wasn't entirely sure what to expect. "Whoever did this must really hate them. I'm not sure if I should thank whoever did this, or turn them in ..." She thought to herself while making her way down the long staircase. Just what exactly was Elaina walking into?

Elaina stopped in her tracks when she saw a pokemon, munching on some grass a few inches away from a gravestone. It looked like a Stantler, but something was different about it. It was just like Greta in a way. After all, Greta appeared differently than what most Zoroark's commonly look like. She slowly approached the pokemon and not wanting to scare it off. After stepping a few inches closer, it began to look up at her, however, it did not move. Instead of running away it just stared back at her, calm and full of serenity. There was a sense of grace it had just standing there, and Elaina could tell that it sought no interest to harm her, yet not run away either. Perhaps it knew that she wasn't there to endanger it either. She decided to slowly get closer, eventually reaching out a hand, and that was when it extended it's head towards her reached out hand, as if it wanted to be petted. She smiled, gently petting the deer-like pokemon. Then, without a word, she took out a pokeball, pressing it against one of the deer's antlers. As the ball rolled in her hand, she waited for the clicking sound before putting it in her bag. Then after realizing that it was getting dark, she decided that it would be in her best interest to make her way back to Mauville.

Elaina honestly didn't know how to feel about this assignment. According to the report, a professor wanted to venture to the silent icelands out near Oldale Town. Elaina did not know much as to why it was called that, however, it was such a big deal. Elaina had decided that rather than constantly asking her supervisor questions that she would accept the assignment, despite being just recently becoming a Cadet. It seemed that they were desperate for someone to take the job, and she was one of the very few that was available. Her task was simple - guard the Professor from anything that would cause them harm. Then, once said professor was done with their research, she would then escort her safely out of the Icelands. Elaina stood there with a long black trench coat that was fit for the cold weather. The hood also was outlined with black fur, which kept her at least a little bit warm. "Hopefully the professor wears warm clothing. Hell, even I'm freezing and I am wearing the proper clothing ..." the female ranger thought to herself as the cold wind violently whipped around her as she awaited the arrival of the Professor.

Elaina sat quietly not wanting to be too noisy. She could tell that Mt. Pyre was considered to be a sacred place within the Hoenn Region - a place where people can mourn their lost pokemon in peace. However, she had only learned recently that the place is home to wild Ghost pokemon. She had quietly walked up the mountain while not disturbing those who came to visit graves. Instead, she would be a means to quietly capture (hopefully) a ghost pokemon of her choosing, then be on her way. She had not even bothered to bring out one of her pokemon. Instead, she felt the need to simply just walk around herself and attempt to befriend them and bring them home with her. However, if a wild pokemon that caught her eye attempted to get violent, then she would have no choice but to make it submit before it was caught. She just hoped that it would not come to such a thing.

Elaina should have known better than to sneak up on someone with their pokemon out, especially bug-type pokemon. However, most of the people she had met so far were fairly nice to her, and they only just met recently. One face, in particular, was Josh whom she met in Mauville. It turns out that he is also Mauville's Gym Leader. Even though Gym Challenges weren't really her thing, she might indulge herself in the foreseeable future. But for the time being, her job as a Ranger was her top priority, and it was more than likely going to stay that way for a while now. "It's alright. I should have known better than to sneak up on all of you like that," Elaina said, chuckling nervously while scratching the back of her head. The Beedrill, or Queen Zing rather, seemed to want to hug Elaina as a means of Apology. Elaina wasn't known as a 'hugger', however, it really seemed like the Beedrill wanted to apologize and so, Elaina accepted the hug from the beedrill, wrapping its fore stingers around her.

That was when Elaina finally took note of the girl's uniform, realizing it was a Ranger's uniform. "Are you a Pokemon Ranger too?" Elaina nonchalantly asked, revealing her cadet badge to the woman as a show of respect. Elaina did not know much about the other Rangers of the region and figured that this was an opportunity to at least try and bond with a fellow coworker. "I'm Elaina by the way. This here is Ansel," She started, gesturing to the Spiritomb that was next to her. His abysmal head calmly swirled while eyeing the new faces in front of them. "He may look scary, but really he's not. He's actually very well-behaved." Elaina reassured her.

Elaina had stopped as soon as the Houndoom growled; not because she was scared, but rather because it was the smart thing to do. Houdooms were territorial and didn't much like seeing new faces. Most people that its fire typing was the cause of such behavior, but Elaina believed it was its Dark typing that made them that way. Dark types don't really care for social interactions with anyone except their own trainers, granted they had a trainer. If the houndoom were wild, then it would have already attacked her by now. Instead, she stayed her ground, wanting the Houndoom owned by the male trainer that she wasn't a threat by any means. She smiled as soon as the male trainer spoke up. He also apologized for Komainu's behavior. "That's alright! I actually deal with that myself from time to time," she nervously chuckled, remembering the instances she had dealing with Greta, her Hisuian Zoroark. "I ended up catching her a few days ago. It was my first assignment as a Ranger. She was stealing food from stores while disguised as other pokemon," She stated, going into detail about her first day on the job. She admitted though that Greta has behaved a little bit better since she caught her, which was nice. She still had a lot of work to do in regard to making Greta more friendly, but she was determined that she could make things work. What's good about it was that she had experience with Ghost types, although she still wondered about Greta's appearance. She had never seen a Zoroark like that before. Since she was native to Unova, she was used to how it normally looked.

He also greeted himself, saying his name was Josh, as well as being a Gym Leader. He had started to then ask her a question but was interrupted by his Houndoom, who had kicked him. The interaction greatly reminded her of how she and Greta were most of the time, which made her chuckle softly. When regained himself and asked her the question in full this time, she quickly replied, saying "I finished my one-year of training and have been hopping around the region doing assignments until I'm properly placed. I told them that I live here in Mauville, so chances are they might have me stationed here. Well, one would hope anyway." She said, bending down to start petting Josh's Mightyena who came over to greet her, but as she started to bend down, a sandygast rose up from the pile of sand. It made the Mightyena back away, however, Elaina stayed in the same position. "It's alright! The little guy just wanted to say hello, didn't you?" She said immediately to Josh's Mightyena, while also cooing at the ghostly pile of sand which had a cute little shovel in its head. She gently touched the Sandyghast, almost as if she were petting it, which seemed to make it very happy. Elaina had then proceeded to grab a pokeball from her belt, pressing it gently against the sandygast, capturing it. The Pokeball rolled in her hand, waiting for the click to then get back up on her own two feet. How about you? Has the holiday season been slow for you, or do you still get gym challenges frequently?" She asked politely while holding her soft smile.

Elaina walked down the path of Route 122, taking yet another opportunity to find some wild pokemon to take home with her and her fellow Ghost pokemon. Ansel hopped in front of her, able to start the pace as Elaina walked right behind it. Ansel may not look like much but in her fair assessment, he could hold his own. In her opinion, spiritomb was practically her ace. Not only that, but he was the first pokemon she had ever gotten. A smile pressed against her lips when she thought about the day her father gave him to her. She used to be so ... bubbily. She figured she just changed as got older. She was more mature - not as talkative as she was when she was a kid. She still managed to be social whenever the opportunity presented itself, despite her being awkward. She would either randomly greet a complete stranger, or she'd just raise her hand slightly and say 'hey' to them. For her, there really was no in-between. It was one way or the other. Despite her now socially awkwardness, she still had her daredevil streak about her. At least that didn't change.

As she kept walking she heard the commotion to the side of her behind some large bushes. She and Ansel looked at one another, just nodding to the other, believing that it might have been a wild pokemon, and decided to go investigate. However, when Elaina peaked behind the bushes, she realized that it wasn't a wild pokemon. In fact, it was another person. Elaina decided that she had figured she'd reveal herself along with Ansel. "Hiya," Elaina called out to the person, catching the person's attention without their acknowledgment of them yet.

Elaina had found herself in Lilycove City, where she was stationed for her next assignment. According to the report, The flying-type pokemon that nested in this part of the region had made nests in powerlines, which caused a lot of problems - some obvious and some that weren't. She was tasked with another Ranger that was supposedly stationed in the area to take care of the situation - removing the bird pokemon safely away from the powerlines they were nesting on. However, Elaina decided that since she was randomly partnered up with someone that she would wait for their arrival while two of her pokemon sat next to her while she waited. Ansel, the Spiritomb sat there with it's abysmal head swirling gently, while Ira the Annihilape stood their, stalwart; waiting for Elaina's orders. She was grateful that Ira was very well-mannered, despite it's pent-up rage that it lets lose from time to time.

Elaina didn't like keeping Greta in her pokeball, however, she knew that she wouldn't be able to do much in this situation. A part of Elaina hoped that she and her partner wouldn't resort to using their pokemon as a means to remove the birds and their nests. In fact, she considered her pokemon a last resort, if needed. She looked up at the slightly grey-cloudy sky, a calm expression on her face while she silently admired the partly cloudy sky. Perhaps it was going to rain? Or, perhaps nature wanted to, but could not let it out. Whatever the case was as far as the weather goes, it was peaceful to the woman nonetheless, despite cold sensation in the air. I wonder when my partner's gonna get here, she thought to herself, not paying attention to the fact that her partner was in fact walking up to her as she sat on the sidewalk.
