There were a lot of thoughts that ran through Kouji’s mind as he walked in, his mind was on battle, but he knew better; beaten by an army of pokemon in a false dimension, outsmarted by a brat, pushed down again and again.

He gripped the knife in his pocket as he pushed his way past Xenon, making sure to bump his shoulders against hers, he stepped in front of that other loud mouth, Hitoshi. ”I have.” A soft whisper he let go as he passed him, that was all, that was anything, and everything he needed to say.

Confidence was pointless, and yet at the same time he wanted to show as much as possible, the inability to decide on either annoyed him. The thoughts that raced in his mind, S.P.E.C.T.R.A, it was his opportunity to bite back at those monsters, to go further, to do more than he had managed to do before.

”You guys are too loud, that’s how you get put down.”

The dark seed of night, the ever encroaching truth of darkness, it was without a doubt to go into stuff. Kouji tightened his hands into a tight fist as he felt the darkness surrounded him, embraced him, and then finally rejected him.

He saw a flash of light in a moment, and he felt the charge run through his body; his muscles spasmed, and then he crashed to the ground. A scream of pain escaped his throat and echoed in the basement room, and yet, it was the shout.

His mind began to fade, his voice felt hoarse, his pain was visible, and yet, a shout of help, a question of request managed to spark his mind into action. ”Oi.” He said to himself before anyone else as he pushed himself off the ground and up to his feet.

The feeling of tightness in his calves as he kicked off the ground, rushed up the stairs, and gripped his pokeball. ”You’re up Urshifu.” He sent out his other half, the pokemon he considered a refelction of himself. Between Fluttermane, and Urshifu, it didn’t stand a chance, it jumped ahead, and threw a powerful Wicked Blow at the tentacle’d pokemon.

The maelstrom of strikes, of pokemon doing their very best to change the world around them; and then force that change to strengthen them, to use the very strongest moves that they had available.

Yet Kouji couldn’t quite believe it, that this was the solution they had found, he hung onto Iron Jugulis even as it tried to shake him off; yet he held on as tightly as possible; his arms creaked, and he felt the metal body underneath them struggle just a second before the strengthened, and push back, the other heads tried to bash at them.

But he would hold on. ”You darn idiot, just who the hell d’you think is your trainer? I beat ya, I’ll keep beating ya, so shut the hell up and listen, release another hyper voice.”

Kouji forced it, thankfully, Roaring Moon knew the job, and it did so, biting, kicking, and slashing at the Flapples in the air, even those which fell; it had no choice but to dance in the heat of battle.

”Hyper Voice at the ground, you idiot.” He said as he headbutted the pokemon, the dull ring of metal, the dripping of blood from his forehead, and yet; it listened for a moment, a roar that was aimed at the ground that washed up in a wave which kicked up more and more dust; making it impossible for the creatures to see.

Between the electrical charge that ran across the area, the hail, the blizzard, and the dust cloud, it couldn’t be any more difficult to see in front of them.

Kouji knew their mission brief, but his mind wasn’t really into it; capturing pokemon that weren’t his type of choice, Combee. Yet, there was something different about them, and yet once again he was in Fortree, he hated that pokemon. Combee.

And he was paired with someone he hadn’t worked with before. ”Apparently, these guys are way more aggressive than usual, so we gotta catch ‘em huh? We bring ‘em in, study ‘em, then sell them to the rangers for money.” He said as he cracked his neck either which way.

He wasn’t sure why the sciency types found stuff like this fascinating, but he himself wasn’t really into it himself. He wasn’t the thinking type, and yet, he hoped some of that mindfulness would rub off on him.

”Can’t stand bug types.”

”Nah, keep the braid…Gives you that “soon to die” kinda look, y’know? Not trustable, but you look like you’ll die anyway, so people’ll tell ya crap anyway.” He said with a shrug as he headed off.

He had his own task, to be the one that roll in, to take charge of this moment, to power his way through to that very moment. He saw the loot, he saw the men and pokemon working it, and he saw the pokeball.

He just had to steal them, and so he parted ways, his hood pulled up, and he walked a different direction to his partner, almost as if contrary to the plan he had drafted, he couldn’t dance, but he sure could fight. He knew how to match the beat of a person he planned to crush beneath his boot.

But to match the beat of someone he was working with? That was something else.

Illusions and fakery were a strange concept, Kouji couldn’t help but to think of that fact as blood dripped through his finger, as Zev covered him, he couldn’t help but wonder which one was the real him?

To attack first, talk later, that had been his ethos for as long as he could remember, to steal without hesitating, to attack without hesitating, to never retreat.

Yet he had leapt back, and the Ditto had attacked. Even now, as it leapt forward to attack Zev, it was stopped by Crowbat, a blow that pushed it back until it had hobbled, and wobbled around the hole, mere couple meters from Kouji.

It wasn’t a matter of thinking things through, Kouji knew it, and so he jumped up to his feet. A pokemon across from him, another by his partner. ”You’re up Meowscarada.”

His pokemon came out in a flutter of grass, she stood there and looked at the strange copy of her Trainer, and tilted her head to the side. ”That idiot face ain’t me, use Flower Trick.” He told her as she threw a Bouquet that exploded on contact, which seemed to cause the Ditto to fall into the hole, to fall into nothingness, the darkness itself.

”The hell? I didn’t know Ditto could take human shapes, didn’t look anything like me though.” He joked to lighten the atmosphere ever so slightly, and then brushed the dust off himself.

He looked at the theater and then the pokemon, before he shrugged. ”Don’t think we’ll find anything good there, those two pokemon seem like natives…Maybe released trainer mons? Ain’t sure.”

Perhaps, pushing forward had been an option for the Kouji of before, but the present him, the him of right now; with his back pushed against the walls, he found himself creaking behind those blows; pushed back, pressed back, and found himself constantly reeling; the moment he tried to punch back, a blow slipped past his guard and rocked him in the face, as if his own ideals were rejecting him.

He couldn’t push through.

”Shut. The. Fuck. Up!” Kouji said as another blow slipped through, and Urshifu felt the same. His brain, his brain, his brain, his brain…

How was he supposed to use it when it was getting rocked, thrown about within his dome, and that feeling of sickness that accompanied it, he wasn’t going to fall in such a pathetic manner, he pushed through even as the punches hit, his guard dropped, and the rain, the flow of blows pierced through.

He felt them, not just merely on his skin, but inside as well, his liver screamed, his lung threw out the air it held, his stomach wished to reverse its contents, and his brain rattled.

When each Organ was a thing he couldn’t rely on, his mind in dissaray, and his soul torn between two roads.

The only thing he would trust in was his fist, and so he threw that punch with everything he had, with his gut, a wicked blow that aimed for his opponent’s nose, a wicked blow from trainer and pokemon both.

Then, he collapsed as if following that same movement, as if that had been everything he had in the tank.

Kouji hit the ground with a huff, the air was forced from his lungs as he tried to pull in a deep breath the moment in which Tempest fell on him, sat on him; and thus he found himself pinned down, his crutch clattered against the ground.

He waited as the sensation of winding fainted, three times over; and yet it was the punch that he still felt the most, it was embarrassing just how fast he had gotten taken apart; his teeth were tightly pressed together, a grit that he feared would even crack one of them.

”Cill?” Were the first ones that came to his mind.

”Aye…It’s boring as hell, after all that crap, my blood’s pumping way too hard.”
