Elsewhere in the world, Adrian crosses the threshold to this aurum vale. He sets out alone, equipped only with his usual adventour garb and gadgets, thinking himself knowledgable of this place enough to travel by foot. When he is welcomed by a vast series of high rising bluffs, he breathes out with an exasperated huff.[break][break]

It... changed? He shouldn't sound so surprised, but it catches him off guard. Adrian queries Yveltal, reluctant to set out blindly in search of some misplaced grove. Its answer proves... insightful:[break][break]

Follow the Four Winds, they shall guide us...[break][break]

He can see wisps breezing through the valleys between spires, scattering across the land in seeking their lasting peace. Adrian resolves to follow the cluster spiraling WEST, which has became an enshrouded mess of rocky spires jutting out of the mists. To hasten his journey, Adrian takes wing on the back of Yveltal's spawn going forward...[break][break]

As they cut like a knife's edge through the shroud of mist clinging between mountains in muted approach, Adrian watches the wisps part before their approach. They do not seem to be bothered, or especially interested in, their presence... At least for now.[break][break]

Perhaps he was wrong to worry.

It was probably the only thing that would've spared the poor simian from Venasaur's walloping girth as it parked itself atop its figure. Brandishing the fan, it magicked itself into Runerigus' position, and Runerigus to its position. Therein making it so that Oranguru was hit by HEX, and Runerigus the TAKE DOWN. Thankfully, both were IMMUNE.[break][break]

Despite the mild success his Oranguru had squandered its move for the turn, and was reasonably pushed to its limit. As it teetered on the verge, one might assume Adrian would withdraw it. But in an act of seeming cruelty, he forces it to continue. To struggle on until it truly fainted from exertion.[break][break]

Having exhausted its usefulness to him now, Adrian turns his attention to Runerigus, weighing his options.[break][break]

"Runerigus, CRAFTY SHIELD." In a moment of lucidity, he shored up his team's defenses in light of the fact TAUNT and ENCORE would not last the whole match.[break][break]

From beneath Venusaur Runerigus shimmers with renewed resplendence, a fixed grin prominent on its features.[break]

[attr="class","adrianwtw"]"Haven't found much of interest." Excursions like these could become such a dull affair. Spending hours on end hoping to find something that wasn't even there to be seen... Though he wasn't mutually exclusive in that. It was part of being a trainer.[break][break]

He manages to distract himself in mock battle with a FENNEKIN that is toppled easily by his Starmie. Though it offers little in the way of enjoyment, the satisfaction of finishing the line's pokedex is enough to bring a faint smile to his face.[break]

The only signs of life besides the two of them breathing heavily at the prospect of finding new pokemon are the indigenous Starmie and Seaking slicing through the water. Adrian takes not of MATIAS SILPH's marked disinterest, allowing him to choose freely.[break][break]

He would've left them be, but that's when he remembers emptying his koi pond for the Black Market. SEAKING had been in demand once, and it left his collection less for it. And so reluctantly he battles it, tossing out an Exeggcutor. A series of BARRAGES trace after the fish before eventually connecting, giving Adrian the opening he requires to tag its silhouette with a pokeball.[break][break]

It had been worrying, especially after the League had aired concerns with a Megalopian resurgence after the METENO event. His body had tensed up and although he might've been able to react in time, it wasn't a position of comfort. To know at least it was simply a trainer's unwieldy pokemon was, in a word, reassuring.[break][break]

"Still needs training, I guess?" Adrian blows off their apology—and his own alarm—with a backhanded remark before continuing to search the trees for signs of something... more.[break][break]

He manages to find it in the shape of a TAROUNTULA.[break][break]

For how dainty and decliate it appeared, Adrian wouldn't risk battling it; instead he aimed a pokeball at the tangle of webbing strewn on its back like a ball of yarn. When the pokeball stopped wriggling from the ongoing struggle within, Adrian was able to retrieve his latest capture.[break][break]

"So you helped out in the Three Day War, huh?" Actually, the more he thought about it, there was another reason he recognized this person—albeit only just.[break][break]

As the dialogue continues, Adrian engages a Cottonee in what might be called battle, though ultimately it was his Golbat harrassing the poor thing until it submitted. From there, it went into a pokeball, only to be stored soon after.[break][break]
