She stands up from her throne, barefooted, as she walks at each end corners of the dais as she begins to enumerate all the anomalies that has transpired in her brief stay in Hoenn. "Legendary gods, Ultra Beasts, Megalopolans, DRK Triad, Necrozma, and even this: even when I am not present for most part for the years that I've been gone, what I can surmise is that everything has been predetermined by fate, by Arceus."

And then she stays in-front of Thomas Benoit, her gaze holding his eyes trying to make her point across. "If the League is the same League there is, regardless of whether there is a Team Rocket or none, there will be others who are going to take its place in history. Who's to say that this is not how fate decides how it's going to be?"

"Team Rocket did not define how terror is going to be; I've learned that it presents itself as an anti-thesis with the terror that is already existing in the world. But terror can be redefined by those who choose to define it. And I think you know what I mean."

THEIR POWER HAS NO BEARING INSIDE THE SIMULATION WORLD, proven how easily they are warped away by the Hexenzirkel's Unowns. Flashes of kaleidoscopic colors blind Selena's eyes, loud noises bombarding her ears, forcing her to shut everything out until only silence remains.

And then, the familiar noise of footsteps paving the granite flooring fills her ears. When Selena opens her eyes, she is inside the indoor Mauville city.

"This is not the simulation experience I was expecting." She admits to soyeon kwan, pacing towards where most of the people are leading her. She finds herself drawn into the Relic Red, where one figure cladded in white and black is waiting for them to approach him.

"I call heads, you call tails?" She teases soyeon kwan, thinking they could ace whatever test this guy gives them.

THE END OF THE HALL EVENTUALLY LEADS THEM INTO A CLEARING, a spectacular sight with a white, sacred-looking tree as its pièce de résistance. This gives Selena a similar feeling to what she remembers the night when the Tree of Life sprung at the soil of Littleroot Town. This is also the feeling every time she visits Sootopolis City.

There is a compelling feeling that beckons her to water it. The Kalosian gives her partner a glance, checking in if he is feeling the same feeling as hers.

But when she is ready to water down the sacred figure, her boss is ready to destroy every last bit of it, leaving her no other choice.

Gerald Kaiser IS AN UNEXPECTED COMPANION because Selena doesn't know him nor has heard of his name and yet she welcomes the opportunity to be acquainted with a fellow associate.

Introductions, however, are not easy when they are simulated into the Hoennian desert this time around. Except this does not look like the desert Selena has known during her entire stay in the region. Her presence is pulled by the purple chunk that gravitates around the incomplete temple.

Being away from the sandstorm now, she is able to talk with her simulation.

"Doesn't this look familiar, or is it just me?"

And then her hands run through the red lining; a muscle memory of when she remembered touching the poison along the creases of the Calyrex statue back in the imaginary Galar.

"WELL, TEAM ROCKET HASN'T ALWAYS BEEN IN HOENN." She begins, her eyes tailing the crawling Perrserker as she speaks. "I guess you're aware of the recent Kanto invasion and the failed Johto attempt, non? In Unova, there have been those working covertly, trying to replicate what the organization has done in the other regions. I've tried to stop them there before."

Her carefulness in words is reflected with her carefulness in her every stop, trying not to repel the unsuspecting Perrserker. After all, she is not aware that the other is a Team Rocket member also. It will be chance that will bring them together one time in the submarine headquarters and acquainting themselves as a fellow team member.

"It's also the reason why I went here in the first place, exposing Team Rocket like what I did before." Sneaking behind a glacier, the Kalosian hurls a Pokeball directly at the feline. "I guess I got too greedy now, eh?"

SEEING HER CAPTURE ATTEMPT IS A SUCCESS, she goes back to her companion with a confused look on her face. It takes her a few seconds to ponder not everyone can easily understand emotions, true, for it is something not easily discussed among others, especially with strangers.

"No, personalities are far more encompassing than just emotions. Emotions reflect in a specific situation one is expected to react; personalities define what emotions one may tend to lean on being placed in these kinds of situations." The Kalosian tries to reiterate her point, but with more considerate analogy. "For example, you may feel indifferent if one of these Pokemons you just caught dies in a battle but you may feel more somber when it is your partner Pokemon that dies. Those are just emotions, but they say something about your personality, probably being reserved and distant."

The sight of a Glimmora flitting through the tall grasses of Mt. Pyre temporarily halts Selena's point, when her delphox attempts to subdue the creature for her trainer. This one, however, attempts to fight back with SELF DESTRUCT. Luckily, Selena is able to hurl a pokeball before it does so.

ALL IT TAKES IS AN UNEXPECTED EVENT TO CHANGE THEM INTO WHO THE PEOPLE THAT THEY ARE NOW: Hitoshi Inoue being softer, Ashley Shepard being tougher, and even when Selena Desmarais feels like she is still the same old Selena, her twenty years reigning in the memory world of Galar changed her in ways she did not expect it would. After all, her fears of being irrelevant are triumphed by the experience of being revered and regarded with respect.

And while the memory of it is slowly dissipating from the back of her head, the feeling remains inside her chest.

She only responds to Hitoshi Inoue with a smile and a nod of acknowledge to Ashley Shepard. Godkillers has matured since their last exams. She knows Elisabeth Fiorelli will just be proud of them.

"Be careful of the Glimmoras though. They have the tendency to self-explode when things become awry for them. Ashley, you know what to do when that happens." Being the shield, that is all.

Eventually, deep into the cavern, what Ashley Shepard says eventually proves to be true. A swarm of Glimmora hovers ahead of a boulder gate that looks like concealing an entrance to a much deeper tunnel. "When we push the boulder, get ready Hitoshi Inoue."

MISSION: TERA TUNNELING, ACT I

HER FIRST STEPS BACK ARE BRISK WALK; followed by hasty paces and then eventually running, chasing after what is left of the ground that is slowly being consumed by the all surrounding darkness.

And then there is no floor left.

"Still think this is a good idea?" While this is better than by being consumed by the darkness, the fall is still a bad experience despite being a simulation. She still remembers how Rocket is able to make a simulation so lifelike similar to the one used in the Trinity Trials of S.P.E.C.T.R.A.

Her eyes trail instead on what is visible in the faint light, her vision trying to check signs of an exit from the ruins. Instead, she finds a riddle.

"Darkness?" Her voice carries beatifully in the barren hall, all for dorian westcliff to hear. "That's it, non?"
