PORYGON IS A RARE CREATURE OF INTEREST THAT CONTINUES TO FUEL THE ADVANCEMENT OF ROCKET TECHNOLOGY. And no porygon is enough to ever satisfy the needs of one declan walsh. Selena is hunting a porygon for herself as well but she knows well enough to lower her own expectations: if anything, at least this route boasts a handful of psychic-types, one that the Kalosian considers her own Pokemon-type forte.

DUO WILD: NORMAL/PSYCHIC

THIS IS A SIMPLE CLEANUP INITIATIVE IN THE CITY OF SLATEPORT BROUGHT UPON BY SELENA. But the real goal is to rummage through the abandoned urban Pokemons population and scraps in the city outskirts that can be valuable for Team Rocket. Electric and steel-types are not really Selena's forte, save for the time that she served as the electric legendary's avatar and she needed a team that may sync well with the deity.

But here she goes, trying to familiarize herself with these types of Pokemon in order to fulfill her duty to the organization. After all, these types of Pokemons prove useful in the geneset chop shop as well.

"Heat up those pile of garbage over there. Maybe some Pokemons will appear from the dump." She commands Circe and the vixen follows suit.

Selena chuckles when she hears Cillian Quinn's denial. "Don't tell me you believe in all the League PR crap, monsieur?"

Contrary to Cillian, she doesn't believe that Team Rocket is a villain the same way that it is a hero. She doesn't believe in protagonists and antagonists, in good and evil, in right or wrong—there is only League and Rocket, and a side that will be left behind by history and those that will be pushing it forward.

Selena winks at Cillian Quinn. "I get it. It's my job to convince you as well, oui?"

Her jest turns into a genuine smile when she hears of his support. After all, it is his job to look after the welfare of the organization. It is his responsibility to do his job well. "Don't worry about them not listening; I just need them to work well around me."

It was ensulting enough that Selena had to be forced into this 'hostage meeting', but BARNABY FINCH just had to encourage her of all her whims and ill behavior for the past two years. There is something in his words that ticked something inside her...

She sighed, folded her arms across the bar, and laid down her head on it. Her eyes still bored into her company's face as she spoke, "So, you're telling me that I should work for you?"

The invitation was not really humiliating. If anything, Selena felt seen and appreciated. But why did it have to come from Rocket? And what will they gain from someone like her?

"Are you not afraid of the potential damages that could happen once I try to betray you?"

MISSION: RECRUITMENT ACT, I
BARNABY FINCH

There are days when Selena thinks soloing a mission is more successful than with teams. This is one of those days. When River Marx has also been engulfed into the mist, she takes Akhlys to finally do what needs to be done.

Selena had to be cautious with Team Rocket members even when she is in their side of the court. The gang has no standards for quality control for Selena, considering the amount of defectors the organization has ever seen, and any plan she tries to make may be put in jeopardy if ever she tries to lower her guards down.

Even when Selena joins Team Rocket, she knows there is only a limit to where the organization will take her. Team Rocket aims to destroy, and it is what she needs in order to rebuild something that is this broken. She will not let other people, even Team Rocket, to get in her way of things.

And if sometimes she has to do things alone, so be it.

The Kalosian digs both of her hands into her pocket: one reaches for Venus’s pokéball and the other into the altarianite in her pocket. The golden plummage of the dragon bird blends with sepia curtains. When Selena raises her MEGASTONE piece, Venus shimmers in kaleidoscopic light as her body morphs into a physique of power and elegance. “Let’s waste no time now.”

The dragons dance midair, flapping their wings and making all kinds of movements to clear the area of mist. This gives Selena enough vantage to check where she is on the map, and check for the landmarks that will led her to the south with the broken seal.

The forked peaks lead to her right, some few miles that can be taken uo by flight. She decides to ride out the naganadel, but hesitates when she senses an ominous feeling behind her.

A flap of wings resonate against the canyons, the flames emitting heat that pierces through her skin. A moltres swoops down past Selena, into where River Marx and Calliope Alvara might be in.

And now she has to choose whether to save her teammates or continue their quest.

SELENA SHAKILY TUCKS THE EARPIECE BEHIND HER SILVER HAIR UPON RECEIVING ORDERS FROM declan walsh . This is posed to be her first public appearance after her two-year hiatus in Kalos, (save for the skirmishes she had in the Ultra Deep Sea) at least for anyone who has still remembered her days of infamy, but the fear of this going against her plans begins to consume her. The Rocket neophyte can no longer focus on surveying the field as she drowns in the noise and the chaos of the battlefield, of familiar faces of friends and enemies, of fear crawling her skin into her chest.

But the thing that breaks her from her nightmare is when she hears a familiar voice amongst the crowd—a familiar face sticking out.

From the shadows in the surrounding forest, Selena emerges after the second springtide storm riding Lucifer, TRAILBLAZING his way across the open field.

"Katherine Fairburne ," the quadruped makes a momentary pause to gain momentum, which allows Selena to acknowledge the other lady's presence. The two were never friends to begin with but it was a joy to see her around. In a matter of seconds, Selena leaves her gaze bored into Katherine's eyes as her voice gets dragged with the speeding umbreon. "I'm glad you're still alive."

Lucifer further dashes into Ting Lu, and whatever may result upon this brash offensive shall rest upon Arceus's will.

PASSING THROUGH RUSTURF TUNNEL DOES NOT ALWAYS REQUIRE AN ARMOR, but this time a swarm of aggrons and their offsprings decide it's the best spot for sparring and battling. Fortunately for the Kalosian, who is always ready, has a way to escape situations that forced her to think creatively.

"Protect me." Selena rides the heat wave that Circe summons through the tunnel. Any aggron hit by the sea of flames will be left vulnerable for any attempt on her part to catch one for her team.

“I don’t know; you tell me.” Hoenn’s fate has always been married to destruction. The moment everyone begins to accept that, the moment it is easier to navigate through its madness. “But are we seriously building on top of what the League has been trying to fix all these years? No wonder we will always look like a villain.”

This is her primary concern because this is what she came here for. This is what made her come back to Hoenn in the first place. Rocket will be heroes.

Cillian Quinn then makes an offer about the organization’s resources—a huge deed for an underboss to make. She smiles, leans back and tries to play it down. "Then I start with you."

As a nobility-born, nouveau riche heir from Kalos, there is nothing more that the Team Rocket can offer her but one thing: "Give those people a good word about me and I’ll forever be in your service."

Selena is willing to take the fast route if it will set her plans in motion quickly.

THE HALL IS GRACED BY THEIR EXUBERANT SPIRITS, but Selena does not feel like competing. Brimming with overconfidence, the least she has to do is to actually prove herself in these trials. Selena knows they know what she already was: Tapu Koko's previous avatar, an ex-gym leader, a war veteran. She knows they know she is a wasted opportunity should be declined in this initiative. But the ex-gym leader also knows that BARNABY FINCH recruiting her doesn't just give her a free pass to everything.

Perhaps that is what she has to prove in these tests: that she is to be trusted.

As the aspiring S.P.E.C.T.R.A. agents make their presences known in the room, Selena looks at them and then at the monitor each and everytime they speak, trying to associate their faces with their name. She sees Kouji Matsubara's name, a familiar face she wanted to join forces in the trials, but waits to approach until Sylvia Cousteau, a fellow Kalosian, makes her case.

"Good thing the League is not as tenacious as us with power; otherwise we'd all be dead with this display of attitude."

Right then and there, the other man (Gerald Kaiser) approaches the crowd too.

Where the light leads them, it is total darkness. The pitch black consumes everything: all the passing light, all the bouncing sound. Selena cannot even see her flutter mane except when for the tips of its feathered appendages dangling and touching her legs. But when she feels a grip on her right leg, she realizes it is already too late for retaliation.

"Help!" Her scream seems to resonate but the darkness engulfs the echoes in which only remains is the muffled whisper of her voice. Flutter mane, however, will not be easily stopped by the dark void. Its senses allows it to follow to where the dragging sound is.

It finally halts atop a staircase, one where Kouji Matsubara has been wandering before, and flutter mane will see a malamar holding its trainer upside down.

Selena always believed in the power of the masses. The masses make history. And this time, they made it for Rocket.

Cillian Quinn's question puts a smile on her face. And then a giggle. And then a guffaw. If she came back and sided with the League, perhaps she would not know the answer to this question. She has tried going back a couple of times but only find herself being pulled away again. But embracing her inner turmoil has already gave her a sense of clarity.

When she recovers, she sits uptight and then leans forward. Facing Cillian Quinn face-to-face, she answers with confidence. "Chaos is now my religion, monsieur. For things to be rewritten and recreated, there's a need to destroy. And I just wouldn't miss my frontrow ticket for this show."
