ONE NIGHT, PETALBURG WOODS' IS MARKED UP BY MESMERISING PATTERNS. These are the work of GRAFAIAI, lemur-like Pokemon known to mark their territory with poisonous saliva. On these trees, several Bug-type Pokemon can be found stuck to their painted trunks: immobilized and awaiting their fates.[break][break]

This outbreak of GRAFAIAI must be done at night, for they are NOCTURNAL CREATURES. However, one of them is easily spotted. Larger than the others, this GRAFAIAI sports a POISON-TYPE TERA JEWEL/CROWN. Its body glimmers, layered in crystalline textures that capture the moonlight and emit their own fanciful glow.[break][break]

Perhaps, this graffiti-loving aye-aye is the leader.

Glimmering in draconic violet, Tsukiko eagerly bounces from target to target - striking each Grafaiai with Dragon Hammer to incapacitate them before they cause any more trouble.

Makoto, though, has to keep their distance. They keep feeling nauseous, sometimes even dizzy, the more they get themself into these situatoins... Hopefully, it's not an omen for what's to come.

Remiel flies over the woods upon his AERODACTYL, determined to find the source of this outbreak and contain it. Sure enough, he spots one of the poisoned lemurs poking its head out from the trees, cloaked in TOXIC CHAINS. Upon that head? A glowing (almost inviting) TERA CRYSTAL CROWN that oozed a terrible miasma.[break][break]

It is only natural for Remiel to respond to this threat with a similar force. So, without hesitation, he TERASTALLIZES his prehistoric mount and descends to combat the beast. Now fully DRACONIC in nature, OTHNIEL launches a WING ATTACK and strikes the GRAFAIAI off the tree it once clung to.[break][break]

But, this, unfortunately, proves to be a trap.
[break]

The two are immediately ambushed by an entire gang of TOXIC CHAINED Grafaiai that had been waiting in the adjacent trees. As Remiel attempts to FIGHT the vicious little lemurs off, however, he loses control of the Aerodactyl he rides upon, which itself is being strangled with TOXIC CHAINS.[break][break]

Just before they crash, however...[break][break]

[break][break]

Time itself freezes.
[break]

Suddenly, the AVATAR feels so helpless. Though he, too, is frozen along with everything else, he is cognizant of the CELEBI that moves freely around him. At one point, it even makes eye contact with him. It seems to sense his internal pleading.[break][break]

Rather than grant him the one wish he had, however, the TIME TRAVEL Pokémon instead decides to rewind the very recent events that had led him here. Before he knows it, he's back in the sky upon his Aerodactyl, just after it had TERASTALLIZED, but before it had lunged downward.[break][break]

And CELEBI is nowhere to be seen.[break][break]

Tch...

Realizing it likely wouldn't appear again, and thankful at least that it had saved his life just now, Remiel returns his attention to the Grafaiai at hand and reconsiders his next move: an attack from afar rather than a physical assault. "HYPER BEAM."[break][break]

PETALBURG WOODS reminds Jayden of his childhood home, of the Glimwood Tangle that he held so dear. It was no surprise then, that the Cursed appears with ghost pokemon at his behest, hands striking out to reveal his two Dragapult in ribbons of brilliant light.

[break][break] One of them TERRASTALIZES before releasing a FIRE BLAST aimed against the matching poison-type crown. Flames and embers burn in the wake of the night, aimed to release the Grafaiai from it's crystal prison.

A Pupitar flew through the air through the power of propulsion. Vents of gas pushed the pupa forward as it crashed through several infected Pokemon. That alone was not surprising, for Pupitar were known to engage in such atrocities. Several road accidents a year could be attributed to a Pupitar crashing into a car's muffler.

No, what what shocking about this one was the admin riding on top of it.

Howard Slayte looked at his watch as he flew through the air on the back of his rock-type. As he grew close to his destination, he hopped off of it and yawned.

"I have arrived, please respond."

BOOM! The Pupitar exploded as it crashed into its target. Bodies of infected Pokemon fell from the sky like confetti as Howard looked around. At this point, he was hardly surprised. Instead, he looked down at a slick of paint left behind by one of the Pokemon. He dipped his finger in it and licked it.

Disgusting.

As he looked into the sky, he saw a flash of green teleport through the sky. For a moment, it was like Howard was yanked backwards by an invisible chain through time. Yet when he looked where he was standing, all Howard saw was what that which had already happened.

"Time... Celebi?" Howard watched it zip away with a blink. His scarf fluttered through the wind as he reached out for it. "What events have you seen, I wonder? Past. Future. It'll all be written down in blood, one day."

His Pupitar exploded again.

The entire place was a mess, however…

“Alright, Kyouya… let’s deal with this shit.”

He then threw the black orb and saw the funny hat appear once more in a burst of light. He would follow by example today, using Terastalization to help with the current situation.

(Those Bug-types stuck on the trees though. Maybe it was a good thing he wasn’t terrified of them.)

He knew these imp Pokémon were nocturnal (because knew the lore behind them) but goodness. Wouldn’t be annoyed at all the graffiti on the trees when she saw this in the morning?!

Poor girl.

Energy ripples over Pyroar's pelt as she terastalises, grounding her to the earth. Lips pulling back in a snarl at one of the stray Grafaiai that hops near, a gout of flame spews from Pyroar's mouth to burn the poor Pokemon.

The night lit up from the flames, catching the eye-shine of the myriad Grafaiai around Nenet and her Pyroar. Their work wasn't done, and as the Pokemon around them slinked closer Pyroar released another Flamethrower to deter their advance.

Anyways, to have two strange events occurring in Petalburg? She wonders if Suicune is acutely aware of these happenings. Surely would be, given the number of pokemon he has running about these woods.[break][break]

But what if she helps solve the problem before he steps a foot out of the house? Wouldn't he be proud of her? This thought spurs a thorough search, her Wooper Troopers fanning out in the area until one finally comes skittering back to her with news. And he'll squeak, hopping and nodding at her Tera Orb before finally jumping to tap his head against it.[break][break]

Terrastalisation. The problem stems from a terastallised pokemon now? As ground-type crystalline features begin to spread over the Wooper, he runs and leads the way. Birds scatter in the midnight air, bushes rustle as she spies shadows converging upon the supposed threat.[break][break]

A poison-tera Grafaiai...[break][break]

"C'mon, Einar." Two sharp whistles to take them down. And the Wooper immediately leaps into the fray to initiate a round of Close Combat. A Taunt, a Poison Jab. The two pokemon are neck and neck as they duke over the mess of colours, poisonous saliva that is bound to harm the other forest critters in the long run.[break][break]

But something feels off. Her eyes flutter as she clutches as her head, her chest heaving as she tries to hold that breath and stop that growing sensation of nausea. Did she touch the paintings on the way here? No, she'd felt this same way back at the Cycling Road, hadn't she?[break][break]

This moment in weakness is captured within the Grafaiai's eyes, a sudden burst of strength allowing him to knock Einar away as it leaps right at Eris with Poisoned Fangs. Weighed down by the unyielding migraine, she can only take an unsteady step back, letting out a cry as those teeth sink deep into her arm.[break][break]

It won't stop there, not while it has the chance. And as its claws extend to slash her clean apart -[break][break]

Eyes blue as the ocean swallow the light of the moon watching above, hold her prisoner for all but a moment. Then, a mist of pink showers over her, good eye flicking to the pixie that alights upon her shoulder. They chirp and nod towards where the other fae must be, but when Eris looks back, it's gone.[break][break]

Just like the bite on her arm and the angered Grafaiai.[break][break]

But the nausea soon kicks in, her knees buckling as she falls with the rustling of withered leaves. Einar pauses up ahead, then turns and hurries back to her.[break][break]

"Go get the others and find it. If not, just try to clean as much of this as you can."[break][break]

She's in no position to chase it herself. Luck had been on her side once, but she cannot afford to test its patience once more.

He is here to protect Rocket. He is an underboss, more expected from him in terms of paperwork than field work, but Cillian cannot deny his curiosity about this new blight in Petalburg Woods. The nausea that strikes him upon his approach, then, is perhaps deserved.[break][break]

"Shame Lugia's immunity doesn't extend to me," he gripes to .[break][break]

Though his veins pulse purple with toxin as his SHADOW MIASMA shrouds his ROSERADE, Cillian is still susceptible to poison. To — whatever the hell is going on, here. Yet he dutifully collects the MOCHI even as proximity makes his brow bead with sweat. He swallows bile and seals the sample into its containment. For the glory of Rocket, and all.[break][break]

As he retreats, the presence of Roserade with its NATURAL CURE soothes his churning stomach. It was not with compassion but duty that she tended to him, but he's grateful all the same.[break][break]

He'd be even more grateful when whatever toxic influence was causing this faded as quick as the illness they'd caused.

Sadly, one legendary primate was not enough to handle an entire troop of Grafaiai. Those little hooligans latched unto the large mandrill's frame like ticks, sinking their tiny fangs into his flesh, until the black ape succumbed to their venom.

"Oh no! Lanky, stay with me!" The young PokéManiac cried out. Suddenly, a certain onion-headed fairy decided to make a cameo; Celebi used its fabled powers to reverse the flow of time itself.

Now fully healthy, the Zarude controlled his vines like tentacles, spreading them around to cure the Grafaiai of any infections with his signature Jungle Healing. None of them seemed to have a Toxic Chain on them, but that did not rule out the possibility that an outside source had caused them to go feral.

It felt a little goofy having the headlamp slapped on as Eddie trudged through the darkness of Petalburg Woods, but his night vision was absolutely terrible, and he couldn't think of a more practical solution to the problem. [break][break]

But maybe the extra gear was kinda unnecessary. Next to him, the sails of his Aurorus shimmered in the moonlight filtering down from the canopy above, reflecting the light back and bathing their immediate area in a dazzling, kaleidoscopic glow. On the downside, it also ruined any element of surprise the two might have otherwise have been able to take advantage of. [break][break]

From the darkness, a pair of eyes watched curiously for a moment, only to lunge forward with a shriek, [break][break]

“Angel, on your three!” [break][break]

The Aurorus turned her head quickly to the right, her fan-like sails crackling with static as she launched a THUNDER WAVE to incapcitate their assailant. The lunging Grafaiai fell to the ground with a dull 'thud', it's body twitching as the paralysis took hold. Eddie would've felt bad for the thing if it hadn't tried to get the jump on them, [break][break]

“Good job, girl,” he said with a soothing pat to the Ice-type's side. She was a tenderhearted thing, he knew, and probably felt just as bad as he did, “Ya did a good job keepin' us safe.” [break][break]

She seemed pleased at that, Eddie thought, as she craned her long neck down to affectionately bump against his side. Maybe this particular venture would be more uneventful than the previous ones had been. [break][break]
