LATE SEPTEMBER — as ultra wormholes are sighted in the seas of hoenn, the region begins to be tainted by poisons, the source of which is unknown. parts of hoenn's seas darken with toxic waste, like oil spills. for this reason, head scientist, lucas lane, has entrusted volunteers with a special antidote formula that he has helped create with elite four, thomas benoit's sludge sample.[break][break][break]

a mega gengar is wreaking havoc in a nearby warehouse. it expels poisonous SMOG as it flings items around from its ghostly invisibility. not only is it dangerous, the loud clanging of tossed items is furiously annoying.[break][break][break]

Duraludon lurched forward, a dragon encased in armor with a purpose and a mission. Remiel had put him forward as he had been tried and tested in many skirmishes and battles before. And, although this particular incident was rather... unique, it would at the very least serve as another test for the beast to improve. Seeing the need to do so almost immediately, the Duraludon summons a dazzling LIGHT SCREEN that shields it from everything coming its way. And, hopefully, shields its partners as well.[break][break]

Without a physical manifestation of its power, the Gengar would be hard-pressed to get its thick poisonous smog past this wall of near invisible barriers.[break][break]

the poltergeist from the abandoned warehouse doesn't seem so suspicious if not for the numerous incidents of pokémon rampage all around the region. when selena arrives on the scene with macua, the ghost owl senses the phantasmal presence lingering in the old building.[break][break]

it waits for a few seconds, sensing the location of the aggressive ghost as he prepares a shadowy arrow from his feathers. as a cargo box hurls at their direction, the decidueye is quick to push out his trainer from the crate's landing before pulling out the spirit shackle into his target.[break][break]

he can't really make out the gengar, spectral as it is, but he can recognise the mischievous laughter. dominic tries to track its position based on where the items are being flung from though he knows to give up quickly; he's familiar with this type.

as another item clatters slightly too close to his head, the magnezone at his side erects a BARRIER in an attempt to protect its trainer from further assault.

The items being strewn about by the rambunctious ghost are annoying. They whirl about, threatening to slam into someone's head with enough force to cause a concussion. It like a child throwing a temper tantrum, and Circe can hardly bring herself to take it seriously. Even the fox by the former doctor's side seems to curl its lips in irritation. Its several tails fan out, eyes glowing a mystic hue as it uses extrasensory. The psychic power halts the possessed items in midair, ceasing the ghost's control on them. With a loud shatter they fall, breaking into many pieces.

kyle's rotom starts to move around the place, buzzing from one space to another in the most erratic manner. kyle cowers from the items being thrown around, arms covering his head from protection.

"poltergeist!"

the rotom eventually stops from the momentary panick of being outside of its trainer's phone and survey's the scenario. the items thrown by the ghosts start to stop from flying as the rotom intercepts them with his own move. he catches most of them, although the rest are left in the mercy of the other respondents.

Adrian was routinely stalking through the outskirts in vain pursuit of a phantom that had eluded him long ago when a crashing noise caught his attention. The malfeasance he'd allowed to fester up until lured him towards the source of the commotion. What better way to release some emotions than to chase after another problem?

Fixing the problem. 'Hammer, meet nail,' etc.

As he walks into the warehouse with his Grimmsnarl at his side, the problem appears to be a rampant Mega Evolved Gengar using a sort of poltergeist-like power to fling shipping crates and cardboard boxes around at breakneck speeds. The resulting clamor is enough to wake everyone up for blocks. "Alright Omen, False Surrender."

Entreating with the Gengar, Grimmsnarl feigns indifference, something of a Prankster itself. Once it lowers its guard, tricking it into thinking it wanted nothing more than to help... it lashed out with the full force of its signature move.

She released the Alakazam, not knowing much about the Kanto pokemon. “Uhhh, do your shit, I guess?” As if transferred from one idiot to another, the pokemon rolled its eyes and flourished its spoon.[break][break]

It cast kinesis on their distant foe, aiming to assist others as they engaged in the conflict; the warped gengar laughing ominously, as if foretelling the sorrow that would come with the oncoming war.
