LATE SEPTEMBER — as ultra wormholes are sighted in the seas of hoenn, the region begins to be tainted by poisons, the source of which is unknown. parts of hoenn's seas darken with toxic waste, like oil spills. for this reason, head scientist, lucas lane, has entrusted volunteers with a special antidote formula that he has helped create with elite four, thomas benoit's sludge sample.[break][break][break]

although alolan grimer are good for the environment, the crystals they leave can be lethally toxic. a swarm of alolan grimer hav ebeen found nearby lilycove, so the league has requested the help of trainers to shoo them away and collect the crystals they leave behind for disposal. since contact with the crystals is dangerous, the league has provided you and your pokemon with protective gloves to wear.[break][break][break]

Better than a habitat of pokémon being harmed, used or displaced from their natural ecosystem, this latest patrol summons from the league simply involved picking up the highly toxic crystals left behind by alolan grimer. It was interesting to find that these 'foreign' grimer were actually beneficial to the environment according to the league reports.

He kept that in mind as he walked the beach of Lilycove picking up the discarded crystals.

With his Alolan!Muk by his side it picked up the smaller crystals by moving over them, not needing a glove. "Stick to the shoreline Muk and focus on smaller crystals. Try, not to get carried away by the sea"

Happy to help and get out of its ball for a while Sénon took its time to allow his colorful Muk to enjoy the rarity of playtime on the beach. "When you're done, you and I and the other can play for a while yeah?" Actual playtime being reserved for when the work was done.

"You know, you don't need to wear the gloves, Delphox. You aren't going to be getting your hands dirty."[break][break]

Stormy shakes her head as she snaps on the rubber gloves. They squeak as she flexes her fingers, echoed now by the Delphox behind her who mimics her actions. The Pokemon does, however, remain in the back with her wand, unwilling to get into the nitty gritty of whatever it was her trainer was doing. Instead, she focuses on keeping the poison at bay with her psychic abilities.[break][break]

While Delphox blasts away the worst of the toxic sludge, Stormy reaches into the remains to pluck out - delicately - the precious crystals left behind. She stands up with a jubilant:[break][break]

"Aha! Check this out, dude!"[break][break]

It catches the light and toxic sludge sprays to her left, hastily blasted back by an exasperated and irritated Delphox. Sheepishly, Stormy drops the shard into a baggie and winks, resuming her task.[break][break]

"Go on fuck off! Get!" Oscar clapped his gloved hands as alolan grimer fled his noise. Damn things were making a fine mess, leaving their damn crystals all over the place. Luckily there were samaritans like Oscar around to help clean the streets. Of course the massive Tyranitar behind him probably helped.

Pain the Tyranitar stomped behind his master, growing to intimidate the grimer into fleeing. Damn things were stubborn though, some only started moving after a well placed roar. Fuckers always ended up scattering crystals when they were scared, which Oscar would kick aside as he pushed on. Someone else can handle those.

Oscar tried to hurry the pace, but the entire endeavor relied on Pain who had no intention of rushing. Pain kept his march steady, rolling his eyes every time Oscar tried to quicken their work. His master had a lot to learn yet about the temperament of polemon.

The fluttering insect has no qualms with darting through Lilycove without stopping. Its SPEED BOOST allows it to cover ground deftly, chipping at the crystals with a FALSE SWIPE.

Rookidee and its KEEN EYES would be useful in picking up the slightest shard, PLUCKING them off the ground before whisking them away through the air, disposing of them faster than most once the grimer had been forced to emigrate elsewhere.

Adrian stood watch, carefully removing some of the heavier shards that might crumble in Rookidee's grasp. He worried a little for the little bugger, even though they'd fixated some protective gear on the tiny bird pokemon, it had been a bit improvised. Most of their protective gear had been gloves, and those ill suited talons and a beak. But to do anything less than try would've risked the consequences. So Adrian crossed his fingers...

Dancing in the air above Grimer who reached out with their acid-like tentacles was no easy task. But Guavafang took to the challenge anyway, pleased to assist her master in the FRISKING of these supposedly precious crystals. In all honesty, however, she abhorred the stench and was seriously debating whether all of this was worth it.[break][break]

In the end, she was content with the idea of being rewarded with a big bowl of fruit after all of this was over. Perhaps that would serve to mend her nostrils.[break]
