LATE SEPTEMBER — as ultra wormholes are sighted in the seas of hoenn, the region begins to be tainted by poisons, the source of which is unknown. parts of hoenn's seas darken with toxic waste, like oil spills. for this reason, head scientist, lucas lane, has entrusted volunteers with a special antidote formula that he has helped create with elite four, thomas benoit's sludge sample.[break][break][break]

in fortree city, a mega venusaur-g has succumbed to a poison it can not naturally process. unfortunately, the poor pokemon has passed away, but not before expelling a massive growth of vines from its body. the vines smother everything, and make it impossible for anything to traverse through. being stuck in the vines is another threat, especially for smaller pokemon who may find themselves overconfident in their ability to pass through the brush.[break][break][break]

What an absolutely fan-fucking-tastic time to move to the Hoenn Region. Kanto was still nearly ravaged to the ground, Kalos was Kalos. A poll on social media chose whether she went to Hoenn or Sinnoh. Yeah, so, making a poll to decide a life decision is not recommended. On the bright side, it made for some great content?

Well, she could regret her life choices later. Gluttonous vines from a gigantic fucking tank of a Venusaur and were greedily grasping at anything they could. Oh and the topper on the cake? The Venusaur had succumbed to the toxin infecting is neural system. That could have just as easily been her Venusaur.

Like the true video game heroine she was, Gigi dual wielded her recently acquired Doublade (please ignore the trembling of her wrists, that is totally normal). Time to get down to some badassery. Which would, thanks to Captcha, be captured on stream! Yay!

Adrian had come passing through after checking on a scene of some import to him, hoping to make certain he hadn't left any incriminating evidence behind. Having taken a shortcut through the thicket of trees, Honedge fast in hand as a makeshift machete to clear the undergrowth, he eventually came across... An overgrown carcass.

That much he could only guess by the smell.

As he sliced at the devil's snare with his Honedge, the vines held fast, stronger than he would've anticipated. How in the world... Okay then.

"Night Slash!" Hardly a scratch. Hmmm... Well he knew Solar Blade wasn't going to be effective.

Maybe something else will work...

"Psycho Slash," he said a bit less assured it'd work, but as the glint of the steel bit through the vines once more, they bean to cleave clean through the dense brush. "Keep 'em coming!"

He could hear others all around him committing to similar extremes to clear away the massive growth.

Stormy's voice is sharp, bellowing a warning for the young steel-type. The Pokemon's sharp wings cut through the decaying vines like butter as she dives bombs with her AIR CUTTER. So far, she is fortunate to not be harmed by the poison the sprays.[break][break]

Disgusted by the smell of the deceased, Stormy raises and arm to cover her mouth. It encourages her to gag and she is genuinely grateful for the aid of her Pokemon. Without her, she would likely be useless -- more so than usual. [break][break]

Where able, however, Stormy does her best to cut away at whatever is closest to her while Skarmory does all the heavy lifting.[break][break]

the vines protruding from the corpse are oppressive and dominic finds himself forced to be in close proximity to his braviary as it slashes away at them, its beak and claws glinting in the gloom.

elsewhere, dominic can hear the efforts of other pokemon and their trainers as they make their way through the newly-sprouted undergrowth, accompanied by the scuttling of smaller creatures as they make their escape.

The smell is putrid, she notes, possibly due to the poison that coursed through the pokemon before it died. She faintly wonders if the body is available for further observation and investigation.

the ditto manages to dodge through multiple obstacles that consisted of overgrown roots and vines thanks to its limber structure. it gets through the heart of things before it transforms into a venusaur itself.

it grows large enough to snap some of the vines around it through its sheer size alone. its efforts to stop the growth doesn't stop there, however, as it uses the abilities of its new body to forcefully counter the opposing venusaur's efforts to make its own jungle.

the ditto is new to this ability and cannot wield it as skillfully as the other venusaur, but with the help of other pokemon, it lessens the burden for everyone at the very least.

Fernando observes the overgrowth from a distance. Beside him, his Barbaracle stands at attention, unsure of what it’s trainer is waiting for. They stand there for several moments, with Fernando dismissing the threat once the vines prove to be no longer alive. “Stay vigilant. Your safety is more important that the job.” It’s a rare show of concern but when dealing with such corruption, Fernando’s fear is more on his Pokemon becoming infected more than it’s actual well-being.

The Barbaracle gets to work with small, precise cuts. The FURY CUTTER becomes more effective with time. Practice makes perfect and each repetition proves to be just as effective, if not moreso, than the last. Between the Pokemon’s numerous eyes, it’s able to catch any movement well before the vines start to fall. Being able to think independently between each brain proves vital in covering a wide scope of activity.

They mince work rather than words.

The vines had devoured Fortree with no restraint, transforming the city into a verdant and dark landscape seeped in poison. Remiel had descended into the only clearing he could find in miles upon his Salamence. The beast was returned to its ball before it could land and risk the poisonous thorns nearby. Remiel landed on both feet with a dull thud instead, then moved to retrieve a luxury ball from his belt.[break][break]

The Farfetch’d he’d brought along would note the purpose of its presence here immediately. It got to work without fail, dashing forward and ensuring each CUT was as precise as it was helpful to the rest of the trainers and pokémon in the area.
