Doug was a bit distracted between trying to pull at the reigns and arguing with someone over the phone.

"For the love of- get that seal of our case!" ordered Doug, prompting the Accelgor to flash forward and throw thin, neon green strings around the water type, tightening them around it before summoning several spikes from within them with a hand sign, causing them to embedd themselves into the pokemon to suckle at its energy.

Hey. She did recognize that voice. It was the guy with the same name as the champ! Well, fancy seeing that one here, along with the gym leader guy. Though this time, this time they were on opposing sides instead of faint acquaintances. She would give no quarter and show no mercy to those Kyougres, even if they implied they were champs. Even champs bled. They could be defeated.

Or, well, she could just continue with this Tug-O-War without turning it into a war story. Then again, the guy who styled himself a military man was on her team here. So she couldn’t be faulted for being off-message, right? “Smash in that frozen tooth then!” Yeah, best to go all out here! She was getting into the groove here while Lucario jumped to intercept that fang with his Rock Smash.

How such a family friendly game like tug of war could lean more war than tug Sam would never know. But because his own brawn couldn’t exactly make the cut, he decided to use his brain more.

With nothing but eye contact and a nod toward one of the shadows, out came his gastly to put a curse on the opposing team’s Pokémon.

The outburst from the other team had Sam's eyes widening. It was an easy counter, and he didn't even have to tell his gastly to get into action. Instead, he focused on using the anger to pinpoint weaknesses in the team, waiting to pull when he could see that the other team might have been too cranky and in need of a drinky to keep balance.

And what was it that the shadowball did? Well, it caused gastly to let out a DARK PULSE of energy, a counter to that nasty ball of shadowy negative vibes.

Miles doesn't know it yet, but he's a strong believer in househusband solidarity. In the future, I imagine there are many recipes, and lifehacks shared between angelo vestri and Miles. After all, they both had good sensibilities and would eventually become master handlers when it came to the lives of their adventurous, hard-headed, reckless, messy, and occasionally inconsiderate wives. I'd even go as far as to say the two would eventually share a google doc - a master list or bible of their accumulated knowledge to pass down to future househusbands revealing hidden techniques such as but not limited to:

- How to get blood out of literally everything because chances are...
- What to tell kids when mom is fighting deities on Live Television
- How to explain wife's busted eye and profuse bleeding to hospital (among other injuries) / Keeping track of medical finances for dummies
- Dishes to make when wife is running late - because when isn't she?
- Meditation techniques for self.

But this anthology hadn't yet been created and the friendship between Angelo and Miles hadn't even been planted. And so when Miles orders his Rampardos to deal with his future ally's Dragonair he has no qualms.

The Pokemon were starting to tire, including his Swampert. Josh knew that they couldn't hold this forever. This was dangerous, unpredictable and quite frankly he wasn't sure why in the world he had signed up for this. "Amor, if you get hit by something, I am not sorry!" Josh called out jokingly to his friend on the other side. Considering he'd been forced to dodge several attacks launched by Amor's Pokemon at this point, this was likely a fairly reasonable declaration.

He watched a large dinosaur head their way with an Iron Head. "Hammer Arm!" Josh called to Dunamus in turn as the Swampert would go for the save.
