darkrai hovered like a mascot, eyes passing silently over those in attendance.

lulu stood up front, to the side—close to Raphael Pryde , if he was present yet. her eyes remained low, on no one in particular.

there were so many people; all seeking power. what else? she was no different. she’d lucked out. they were here to risk their lives, not for the glory of rocket, but for themselves. trapped in such a life of darkness, there seemed to be only scarce opportunities to become something more. it was worth putting all on the table.

what was to come for them?

It sounded nice to have.

Kris likes the sound of it and wants to acquire it all for themselves. The Avatars are a curious enigma. Kris would like to unlock such power within themselves. So the young teen excitedly waits for the assembly to start so that they can better learn of this whispered Magma, and now Kris will know as much as they need to know about it.

And Kris likes to be in the know about such things. And Kris was always curious about being strong in a meaningful way. So for now Kris' sat on the seat and their short legs didn't even reach the floor. Damn maybe in the multiverse they are tall in one universe.

Details regarding the project were the first thing Killian learned upon being promoted to admin. They'd happened at the same time. The memory of that day burned hot like a sword fresh from the forge.

As did the words he'd spoken to Cillian Quinn.

"Everything. I'll be whoever you need me to be. Do whatever you need me to do."

Without hesitation, he'd let it slip from his tongue and agreed to be a test subject for Chu-e Choi 's experiment. Killian meant it at the time. Now? He's not so sure. Power of his own feels so close that being a vessel for borrowed strength no longer has the appeal it once did. But his Achilles' Heel of curiosity has him here regardless.

Hands in his pocket, Killian stood not with the other bigwigs but amongst the people. That was until he spotted giona ferrara amongst those gathered. With a smile on his face, he made his way over, stepping to the man's left.

Of course Oscar showed up. Ever since Remiel Calcifet told him about the M.A.G.M.A. program he had been obsessing over the idea of becoming stronger. Being made more than human. Oscar had begun to resent his humanity. He felt too much, his conscious was too loud. It was starting to become a problem, intrusive thoughts plagued him night and day. Ever since his unsanctioned meeting with Katherine Fairburne, Oscar had been questioning why he was a part of Rocket. What had he to gain from continuing to be loyal.

This was his chance to dissuade those thoughts forever. In his heart, all he ever wanted was to bring glory to Rocket--and now he finally had a chance to do so in front of all of his peers. No one shall ever question his loyalty again after this--especially himself.

Oscar sat alone, hands folded as he patiently waited for things to get underway. He saw a multitude of familiar faces, but felt compelled to approach none of them. His anxiety over what exactly will take place here made him reclusive, he had to focus on centering his mind. His focus was entirely on keeping his mind and body calm--it was the only way he would make it through this.

Never mind if it meant that he would have to fall into the deepest circles of Hell to do it.

Never one to question what the ruckus was about, he stood off somewhere in a quiet corner, eyes examining the room at large. Who knew there were a lot of people around?

The two that mattered the most—the ones he knew from Kanto—were at the forefront of the assembly.

Catching their gaze (at least he hoped Gavin would notice he was there), he continued to observe quietly, hands crossed over his chest.

there's bigger fish to maim, kill, eat. and her purpose for showing is clear: the avatar hunter is hungry.

the room is crawling with rockets. grunts, beasts, admins, scientists, bosses... so many in one room. perhaps more than she's seen in hoenn, even. in particular, two souls stick out with a certain familiarity.

a fox mask draws her attention first. she remembers it well. being followed, babysat, and the thought of making puppy chow of his hound. if she were anyone else, she might just flash him a smile. all Remiel Calcifet gets, instead, is a piercing stare and the slight incline of a head.

and then, it's all white hair and an eye patch. Remi Cassel. a mild itch crawls in her skin and she steps toward the woman before she can stop herself. blood and bone, gold and silver. side by side along a wall, just like old times.

just this once, she allows herself to smile. it's all bloody teeth and aggressive but it's something?

"mon amour d'argent," she whispers fondly before it begins. centipedes crawl around irises as they sweep through the room, blank and bored.

Hard to say.

Elliott made his way through the doors, knowing there was no turning back at this point once he entered. Isn't that how life worked for him though? Without taking risks, there was no reward. That was the life of a thief. The life of someone who struggled to survive.

Maybe M.A.G.M.A. would have a purpose for him, then. Maybe he wouldn't have to see himself as someone to struggle to survive anymore, despite his successful career.

Those hidden traumas would always leave scars.

Elliott noticed mint frost's bright hair when he entered, a small scowl crossing his face as he took a seat with his arms crossed over his chest. He was sitting near bryan delarosa, though, and he was familiar with the both of them. It'd be fine.

As long as Mint didn't decide to start messing with him during this shit.

"Didn't expect to see you here," he said simply toward Mint, giving a small wave to Bryan.

Kris was snooping in on the group behind them (bryan delarosa @elliott mint frost ) in an unsubtle manner. Kris spun around in their seat and leaned forward with his fingers curled over the edge of the chair. Kris' head barely peaking from the top of the chair, they were staring at the trio curiously, Being their usually nosey self. Their little legs barely over the flat of the chair kicked into the air excitedly as they snooped in on the trio's conversation.

Wonder if they are close to the admins and research team-sounds like it a little bit. Or at least with dirt. Kris, with a grin, leaned closer forward and dropped their arms on the back of the chair, and spoke in their higher, more childish voice. "What kinda Dirt, Mistah?" Kris said with sparkling eyes. Hoping their prayers are answered.

Kris said with a disgruntled sigh as they slumped down on the chair. "huh, usually people think I'm younger since you know-in the mysterious case of my tiny legs." Kris revealed absent-mindedly. Suddenly the teenager pulled a cig from his sleeve and a lighter from the other and before he could light it-he looked at the group. "You guys want one, or Nah?" Kris asked the trio. When the man asked for their, name Kris responded with-"Kris, and I didn't think we cared about manners in Rocket, but I guess even hardened criminals care about eating out the boss-man ass if only to get a margin of respect in this hard knock life-huh?" Kris said with a shit-eating grin.

"Information is sort of my deal. So being a nosey little shit is kinda part of my resume. You get me?" Kris said before they finished with-"But If my estimation is correct-we'll get to know each quite well~" Kris said as he lit his cig and took a puff of it.

It was so easy to watch people when you made an effort not to make friends at work. Nobody came over to say hello, nobody bugged him. He was glad for it, in honesty - seeing people crowd around other Rockets, watching fellow grunts tied up in conversation... it was something he couldn't dare to have. It was too dangerous to have people know him as a person, considering what could happen with the League if anything got out... not to mention what Rocket might do if he put a foot out of line.[break][break]

...But it was also hard to people-watch when you actually recognised someone from outside of Rocket activities. Izzy stared at Martín del Mar from across the room from the moment he noticed him, trying to work out if he was really actually here, or if Izzy's thoughts about his big strong arms lifting him onto that Rapidash had tainted his eyeballs, or whatever. [break][break]

Fuck. It really was him. The guy from Mt. Pyre... and more importantly, the CEO of that fucking bank. The rich guy, the guy who had ridden a horse down the mountain with him, the guy who Izzy had implied seemed uppity or too snooty to be in a graveyard.[break][break]

And judging from how some others were reacting to him as he had entered, he was someone important.[break][break]

Izzy wasn't usually one to stare - he was much more commonly one to face down and avoid eye contact all together - but he couldn't help it. All he could think was "shit."

The specifics of the project were lost on him. Weren't they always. He preferred to just riff on the general assignment of the whole thing. Nonetheless, the assignment seemed more up his alley this time.

Still hungover from being drunk on power, Giona thirsted for something more. He was startled by Killian Decker appearing at his side and zeroing in on him.

Giona ran a hand through his hair. Reddish brown, like he'd applied his favorite pink dye again, but hadn't done as thorough a job with the bleaching mix. His hand kind of sank in, hair spilling over between fingers. He raised a brow at the way Killian framed that.

“Dirt.” Mint echoed, blinking in surprise. “If you die, what are the chances of me living then?” Mint added with a small laugh. The heaviness of this experience hadn’t quite hit him just yet. He was still floating in the surrealness of it all. He’s happy to have Bryan’s company. Even if he didn’t know him very well, he was as funny as he was capable. As his attention moved back towards the crowd he locked yes, or well, an eye with a familiar face and felt his lips twitch as he froze like a deerling in headlights. [break][break]

‘Is that….the eyepatch lady form the carnival?!’ What the Fuck was she Doing Here?? She’d been a ROCKET this whole time?! UGHHH! He could’ve gone home so much earlier that night!! He didn’t know what to do so pointed at her for a moment before waving quickly and then immediately breaking eye contact, practically about to hide in bryan delarosa ’s massive chest for cover. Then another brings him out of his awkwardness. Mint blinked in surprise as a familiar, prickly blonde showed up. He gave the grunt a finger wave, hamming it up immediately despite the meeting that was about to start. “My prince? Did you miss me when I wasn’t in my tower?” he asked, batting his eyes and trying not to grin. @elliott made it too easy to be honest. He probably could’ve said anything, and it would’ve bothered him. [break][break]

But after a moment he nodded, dropping the joke briefly. “Same.” Mint didn’t know if he would’ve volunteered if he hasn’t been asked for his interest. However, when presented the option, especially from someone with a career in Rocket as interesting at Chu-e Choi ’s, he couldn’t turn it down. FOMO and all that. He turned his head, a little startled at @kris but overly friendly, nevertheless. He smiled while Bryan went at him. He held up a hand and politely declined. “I don’t think it’s appropriate to smoke right now.” [break][break]

The grunt was silent for a bit, his eyes going over the kid’s hair, eyeing it for a moment before pointing at it. “Same hat?” he asked with a silly grin.
