Okay, don't pay attention to any of these losers. Rally was coming in like a hurricane, carrying a Togepi in his arms while a Haunter flew in beside him. The sight of an Absol in his path is an instant cause for alarm. He's not native to Hoenn, but he's lived in the region long enough to hear the legends. Once he might have put no stock in them, but now...?

What sort of disaster did this Absol portend? A LANDSLIDE on Mt. Chimney, or the END OF THE WORLD?

To see an absol in the flesh after so long... well, that could only mean one thing, right? The reckoning of a disaster ready to appear. The who, the what, the where, she knew not. But the when? Soon. Really soon. All the mercenary really cared about was getting a shot at one of these mystical beasts, and, if the Gods of Disaster wished it, she'd swoop in and snatch one for herself. Like an inferno.

Alola was known for the occasional hurricane. For as windy and rainy mess and damage they caused...Asher would still prefer wading through that than dealing with the Jagged Pass. And there was an Absol swarm to boot! Ugh, how annoying! They were omens of disaster...but he couldn't help but feel like that was a load of crap. They seemed more like warnings. Like "hey, something is coming, be prepared." Or something like that. The red head kept his Alolan Marowak out to be his guard. Even though technically, Bones was weak to dark-types. Still, if the opportunity arose, he supposed he'd catch one. If nothing else but because they were a misunderstood Pokemon in his opinion.

Onyx knew he was being stalked.

He’d spotted the Absol a while back, it’s white fur and steel-clad horn glinting against the golden setting sun.

Never one to underestimate an opponent, he guessed the predator knew it’d been pegged, though he wasn’t completely sure. So he led it on a merry, up and down the crags and crevasses, wondering just how long it would follow. He wondered what it sensed-- was it the chaos in him proper that tipped it off? Or was there something he was walking into? Maybe the whole of Jagged Pass was about to come disastrously crumbling down, a rock slide of epic proportions-- like the one that the Rangers caused when they dropped half of Mt. Pyre down on itself.

That was a funny thought. He wondered if the Absols had gotten it right then.

Still, he thought, as a black shadow crossed over both of them, you’re not the only predator out on the range tonight.

He paused to let the beast draw closer, so its focus was completely on him, and not on how Zia swallowed up the sun in her rapid descent.
