Even if I never do succeed, though, I certainly had fun trying, she thought to herself. And maybe if I keep telling myself that, I'll even start to believe it. A small, wry grin tugged at the corners of her lips as she rode on the back of the Mantine toward the next set of waves in her penultimate attempt at the elusive trick.
