While everyone else was rigorously working on their respective snowboys, Andrea had gotten distracted ordering a FRUITCAKE at a nearby food stand. She'd also gotten an extra large FRUITCAKE for Chomper in order to satiate all three of his mouths.

"Wait a minute, this isn't the time to eat! We're supposed to be working!" The young woman said, putting her spoon down. So far she'd gotten a rudimentary part done, but the main piece remained unaccounted for. They really needed to pick up the pace.

The young PokéManiac had her Hydreigon use Fire Fang on a large chunk of frozen snow, softening it up so that the girl could then mold it into the spherical shape of her dreams. Giving form to her artistic vision was an adventure in its own right.

For a moment, the grass-oriented coordinator stared at Pippa's horrific creation and allowed his jaw to drop in shock. He knew her antics, he knew how she could be, but he didn't expect this in a public place. In pure embarrassment, he shielded his eyes from the sight of the rather suggestive snow piece and tried to focus on his own. Alas, he knew if he didn't give the pinkette an answer that she liked to hear, he'd deal with the excess grief of it later. With a sharp inhale and forced smile, he looked back to Pippa and her piece.

"I think your ah... the sculpture you made is lovely," he struggled to get out.

It's not that it was awful, but his poor heart couldn't take how crude her snow sculpture of choice was. They were supposed to be building snowboys, not the awkward shape that Pippa herself had begun to piece together. With a sharp inhale, Flynt focused once again on his snowboy and carefully packed more snow in to form into another shape.

"If you want, I can try to help you build an actual snowboy, that is the point of this, Pip."

Most would think his words were said in an attempt to save himself from embarrassment. In truth, he just didn't want Pippa to be disqualified due to her artistic liberties she'd taken (which was putting it lightly.)

Following Micah's display of defeat, Danny covered his face as his body racked with dramatic sobs that his partner in crime had already failed the dumb little challenge that they pitted themselves against. This meant he was to fly solo for the next 20 some days of December. Or wait. Wait. Wait just a minute. They could simply give Micah a mulligan in this situation and let her try again. That could work, right? But then that would be dishonest, and dishonesty wasn't good. (Yes, it seemed counterintuitive that a Rocket member cared about dishonesty, but alas.)

Danny reached out a hand to Big Drippy and patted the dragon's Timbs with a disappointed sigh. But the moment that Micah seemed inconsolable, the blonde stood up and pulled her into a tight hug. It was just a little snafu that they could overlook. Though the way the two acted, it was almost like they'd taken a heavy loss of some sorts. Any onlookers could likely attribute that to their career online.

"Guess I'll take myself out too, bro. When we get home though. We're a team, and if you go down, I'm going with. But when we get home, do you think we could make some hot cocoa?"

The hot drink sounded fantastic to cheer them up for their loss. But for now, they had another contest to focus on. And Danny broke away just long enough to sculpt some more.

Callan rolled his snowboy from the ground, clumping together a small ball of ice and then roling it over snow to gather ice and increase it's mass, hands comfortably insulated from the winter cold.

There was no daughter for him this time who 'forgot' her mittens. No helper to gather bundles of sticks or nearby fallen berries for eyes or to constantly remind him to stick a carrot in the center of the nose. He had prepared a flask of hot cocoa for one today and he sipped it quietly as he watched his snowboy begin to take shape.

He silently takes a picture and sends it out.

The moment that Taiga brought his age into it, the older of the two whipped around and raised his voice at her. Not an uncommon situation for the two, even if they were in public. "OH GO FUCK YOURSELF, FIRE CROTCH."

It was a miracle he hadn't forced his boot against the base of the snowboy she had begun to craft. But he knew if he did that, she'd do the same right back to him, and they couldn't focus on sabotaging each other. They needed to pour their focus elsewhere. Rather than pour all of his rage into the way he felt like he'd go into hypothermia at any second, Jaskier dug around in his bag until he found the thermos he'd brought with. They say that when someone feels cold, if they eat or drink something cold, it'll help regulate their body temperature a bit. Thankfully he'd had enough foresight to pack some eggnog to drink. Jaskier poured some into the lid and took a swig of it. He was able to taste a hint of the rum mixed in.

"Real shit, you want some of this? It ain't bad."

For now, he put the cap back on the thermos and went back to his own snowboy. Some folks were already halfway through crafting theirs, he noticed, and he needed to catch up. At least he'd begun to warm up a bit, whether it be from how heated he got before or that the body temperature regulation shit actually worked.

Right after finishing his next piece of the snowboy, a familiar voice spoke to him. He didn’t immediately recognize the source until she spoke her name - Julia Davis . “Oh, right! We handled that Wooloo-napping Beheeyem!” He waved towards where he heard her voice - that had been some time ago. “You know, I got the jackets that they promised to send us! Here, I even got Elga’s on him right now!”

Hideo took out his Beheeyem’s Pokeball, letting out the psychic-type, dressed in his blue, fluffy cloak, just like the one they caught the other Beheeyem wearing.

No star-shaped sunglasses this time.

“I got a matching one for myself, but it’s not as warm as what I got on now. But I’m sure you’ll see me wearing it in the future~” Coordinating outfits with his Pokemon was a joy he didn’t realize until right now. “Did you get any sent over to you yet? I’m sure it’d make a pretty good holiday gift.”

Alas, the prospect of a nice, peaceful time catching up and building snowboys ended the moment Eris Halla ’s snowball hit the side of his face. Any ambiguity around the source fell once he heard her shouting. “Aaaaand that’s a war declaration right there.” He took a moment to brush the snow off his face. “Ms Julia - I’m gonna go answer that snowball. If you want, you can join me - I’ll need all the help I can get.”

His Vulpix hopped over to him, the boy kneeling down to pet it. “Snowflake, you keep working on that snowboy for me. Elga and I got a battle to win.” The boy marched off, his Vulpix doing the best salute it could do before rolling up another part to the snowboy.

Hideo scooped up some snow on-route, balling it up and tossing it straight at Eris - with his Beeheyem’s guidance.

Admittedly, Angelo was no fan of cold temperatures. Even bundled up in a Wooloo lined aviator jacket, fluff soft against his scarred neck and gloves covering work roughened palms, did little to stave off the bite.

It does not compare, however, to the silent graveyard left in Kyurem's wake. So bitter and void of life, even relief of a saved Hoenn had frozen over.

Sniffing, tip of his nose red, Angelo decides to say fuck you to Kyurem's legacy by attending this years Snowboy Showdown.

Brow pinched, the pilot stands back to survey his first ball construct. It's incredibly lumpy and wonky. There's no secret he's not a seasoned snowman crafter.

Pausing, he bends down to scoop up some more frost, patting it into a smaller lump as he calls towards his Lycanroc who's head is buried in a snow drift.

“Hey. Ori. Catch.”

Alerted, Orion springs impressively high into the air, as if her legs were made of Hitmonlee coils. Teeth snapping at the tossed ice with blue eyes bug wide.

[attr="class","thadmain"]Cyg had a very bittersweet opinion of snow. She enjoyed it, but in the same vein, it always showed up shortly before or after things really went to shit in the region. The cold, fluffy white-stuff evoked in her a sort of Pavlovian response of lingering dread.

Still. It wasn’t without its perks.

She liked Isaac’s eyepatch. She liked him in everything. And nothing. It was still jarring to look at the heavily-scarred remnants of half of his face. But she was steadily getting used to it-- like exposure therapy.

Gremlin was helping to nose her Snowboy balls around with his snout, stopping every so often to shove some snow into his mouth and nom, nom, nom it down. He was bundled up in a toque and a blue scarf, but the cold didn’t seem to bother him, anyway.

“Not bad,” she said, nodding to Isaac’s half-constructed pile of spheres. “Mind if I join in?”

Gremlin came up and took a large bite out of her Snowboy piece. Welp.

Yumi huffed, her breath condensing in the air as she trudged through the snow beside Mei Liu. Somehow, Yumi's roommate had convinced her to leave the apartment and participate in something called a Snowboy Showdown, whatever that was.[break][break]

"I can't believe you've dragged me out here with you," Yumi complained. She was dressed in a puffy coat, fluffy white earmuffs, a pink wool scarf, and waterproof mittens. "It's so fucking cold. I can barely feel the tip of my nose."[break][break]

Johto saw its fair share of snow, which Yumi enjoyed watching from the warmth and comfort of the indoors. But to be outside? To play around in it like a child? How inelegant.[break][break]

Bundled up in her scarf was Kyogi, Yumi's Mimikyu. The small Ghost-type emitted a high-pitched wail as they passed the table covered with drinks and snacks. Yumi glanced at the various treats, noting the fruitcake slices, iced cookies, hot chocolate, and hot cider offered up by the event's organizers. She selected a cookie shaped like a candy cane and broke off a small piece for Kyogi to nibble.[break][break]

Munching on the rest of her cookie, Yumi crouched down and began gathering snow for her snowboy. Since she had let Mei bring her out there, she might as well join in. Naturally, she would make the most beautiful snowboy of all.[break][break]

Off in the distance, his Sealeo and Walrein were lending themselves as sleds to any manner of Pokemon or small children (or childlike adults) who wished to go careening down a slope at high speeds.

“You skipped a piece,” he said, pointing to a nearby snowboy that had all three body segments finished. “I’ve not built one before but don’t you have to go in order?”

He braced himself and began rolling.

Going back to his snowboy the young mafia heir began humming a little ditty, specifically, Jingle Bells as he continued putting his snowboy together. While doing so, he found himself getting a bit hungry and remembered the fruitcake one of his subordinates made the other day... They probably wouldn't care if their boss took it, right? Eh, he'd worry about it later. Right now he just wanted to enjoy himself. Holiday cheer and all that.

Whatever snowballs she can dish out are returned tenfold by Locke Jamison and their small army of Delibird. Luka squeals as she ducks behind her half finished snowboy, giving an apologetic smile and shouted, ”Sorry!” to Gunner Graves, who’d been caught in the crossfire. [break][break]

But even her perfect snowy baby can’t protect her from a multi-angled assault! Eris Halla manages to catch her right upside the head, the snowball bouncing off it like a piece of stale fruitcake. Yewch! For such a young girl, she can sure hit hard! [break][break]

”Oh, come on!” she shouts back, preparing another snowball for a counterattack. ”I didn’t even kill you that time!” [break][break]

Two assailants (plus almost two dozen Delibird) are more than she can defend against. To make it worse Vanilla, instead of coming to her defense, yips happily and sprays her trainer with even more snow, just excited to be part of the game. At least this impromptu fight has worked as intended- Locke isn’t asking about Remiel Calcifet anymore. [break][break]

When Audric Black shows up with his hot chocolates in tow, Luka takes the opportunity to run behind him, using the poor man as a meat shield against all the incoming snowballs. His attempts to diffuse the situation are cute…but it’s too late now! [break][break]

”No truces, Audie!” she shouts, taking aim and letting another snowball fly. It misses wildly and ends up careening towards Isaac Merlo instead. Looks like all that target practice at the Splashfest hasn’t helped much. ”This is war now! Come on, you’ve got to help me out!”

BARNABY FINCH should know better than to declare war against him, especially when he had been the one who started all of this. Alas, it seems as if his adored lover does not realise the error of his ways, and so it’s up to Mars to make him realise his mistake.

The first mistake had been giving Mars a warning, making it so very easy for him to move out of the snowball’s way and causing it to land right by an unsuspecting angelo vestri. Mars would find it hilarious if it did hit the pilot instead, but his gaze is fixed on Barnaby, giving him the most radiant of grins – as playful as it is wicked.

Oh no, Mars is going to win this, and so he decides to forgo even the thought of ranged attacks. He whistles a short note, calling for Pollux to keep the journalist distracted, and then, when he’s close enough, he unceremoniously tackles Barnaby into a pile of freshly fallen snow (courtesy of the SNOW WARNINGS of their twin Vulpix).

There’s a laugh, joyous, and there and then, while still laying in the dent they had formed in the snow, amber eyes meet cobalt ones.

despite constantly making fun of her 'old, aching bones', there was always space for some childish mischief in alecis's behavior. "don't fuck up your snowboy, huh?" this wasn't a question, it was a tentative thought that she was bound to overstep and go against. already using her honedge like a flat surface to pack snow against, the poor ghost type almost sighed ... if it had a mouth. truth be told, alecis did favor her ditto troupe, given they'd been adventuring for much longer together, but the honedge had easily fit into the team as a depressed father type figure who would easily leave them all for a pack of smokes. "your snowboy is coming along well ... almost too well, some would say." despite this ominous threat and the looming promise of a honedge full of snow dunked on his head, alecis hummed happily as she continued sculpting her own snow ... figure of sorts. it wasn't exactly much of anything yet unless one counted a snow halfling a snowboy in the making, but it was getting there.[break]
"i'm glad you're on my side. we'll make the best snowboys out here." very promising, coming from a conniving individual.

a heartbroken frown flitted over pippa's expression, her eyes immediately watering despite the cold, dry air around them. in proper comedic timing, she was still gripping the member she had made while whining - making incoherent noises as she tried to speak up while blubbering over how distraught she was that she was judged by the very boy she adored the most, snowboys be damned. as if in an attempt to comfort their trainer, literally all the -ussy's came out of their pokeballs, each in their own hand-knitted holiday outfits and either patted their trainer to comfort her or took turns glaring at flynt as if this was all his fault. pippa was inconsolable and in tears, primarily hugging her oversized happiny, hussy herself as she glared at flynt as if to say 'you did this to me.' the squeeze was inhumane, really, as pippa was someone with a bit of barbaric strength to her and the poor happiny's eyes all but rolled out of her head as dussy gave out small, ghostly sighs as it just went about taking up the work with its snow angel outfit - a small bell ringing from the top of its little spectre form.
